Thank you! It depends on the project, but 2560px wide for landscape is a good compromise as it will look good on higher resolution screens and can still be kept at a reasonable filesize if you apply the principles outlined in the video :)

Hi, thankyou for the tut., very useful. You suggest to save the images as .webp, but what about the complianz of this kind of files with all the browsers?

Thank you and great question! Webp v1 is pretty safe with modern browsers. So the first thing I would check is if my target audience uses old versions of browsers, and try to evaluate the impact (stats of browsers and browsers versions usage can be found online). According to the website "CanIuse", 96.3% of browsers currently support the WebP image format. Exceptions are Explorer 11 for example. But Explorer 11 only accounts for just 0.577% of the market share.
One use case where this could really have impact is if you are creating an "internal website" for an organisation that still uses Internet Explorer 11 or prior. Which tends to be rarer these days.
Other than that, it should be pretty safe :)
