Creole Love Call ist einer der ersten Titel, die ich von Duke Ellington bewusst wahrgenommen habe. Die simple Schönheit der Melodie blieb an mir hängen und dann die Erkenntnis, dass das Stück nichts weiter als ein Blues ist. Dann diese verlängerte Subdominante in der Mitte. Ich mag die Schlichtheit diese Komposition.

Creole Love Call is one of the first Duke Ellington songs I consciously heard. The simple beauty of the melody stuck with me and then the realization that the piece is nothing more than a blues. Then that extended subdominant in the middle. I like the simplicity of this composition.
