Great posting! It brings me back to the old days of piling in the car in our "bootie" pyjamas to go the the drive-in. Alas, most of the drive-ins in my neck of the woods are closed but I occasionally drive to the one an hour away to take a trip back in time. Thanks for posting!
while people were piling into the concession stand my mom would pop open a cooler from the trunk and haul out sodas, beer, sandwiches chips candy, we'd sit there and watch people drop their drinks on the way back to the car. thanks for that memory of the Tijeras Drive-in Albuquerque
It's nice that the uploader has a section in the TOC which documents the actual names of the music in this comp. The only problem is that I have nothing with which to associate the titles/documentation with the actual tunes.
9:54 The back to back repetition of this harpsichord backed bumper is odd enough, but then the second one abruptly stopped and flashed an 'on with the show' notice.

Ah, yes. The good ol shakey camera! I love old movies and commercials. They just, I don't know, feel good to watch.
I miss the drive-in. We used to go every Friday night with a bucket of KFC!
What does the 4:54 look like to you? If Rankin-Bass, I AM NOT FALLING FOR IT!!

Yum kfc
A veritable cornucopia of Drive-In theater concession stand goodies! How i miss the Drive-In theater.
4:59 This sequence is, IMO, one of the best ever adverts for drive-in snack bar fare. The harpsichord work in the background music is peachy keen!
I've been listening to the stock music for a while, and then I was suddenly startled by "WE HOPE YOU'RE ENJOYING YOUR VISIT HERE THIS EVENI--"
Let's all go to the lobby
Let's all go to the lobby
Let's all go to the lobby
To get ourselves a beer
Drive-Ins have no lobby. 😊
@@TheDriveInGuys this was aimed more towards theaters, but Drive Ins used it as well

Having a Fanfiction Intermission a glass of Ice tea and some Candy and getting ready for the next chapter of the story.
The correct word in that commercial for the young lovers is affect and not effect.
Yes. And, wonder of wonders, there have been quite a few peeps pointing that out. Proves the public school system is not a complete bust.

the vcr was the death of the drive in because people could watch movies from home
The wrong word was used in the ad about public displays of affection-it should be affect, and not effect.
2:35--3:28..... opening and closing themes for "THE ADVENTURES OF SPUNKY AND TADPOLE".
Yes, I recognized it -- very nice lead-in to another, unidentified theme
Awesome 😊👻🎱

These were better days in America

Here's a tip: don't look for a star printed on the BOTTOM of your cup when you have soda in it.
You could just look under it while keeping it vertical.
@@robertromero8692 That's true, but it's dicey, esp. if you're a kid.
