Azsuna - Music & Ambience | World of Warcraft Legion

- Azsuna was originally populated by more than ten thousand elves.
Queen Azshara's pact with the demon lord Sargeras went mostly uncontested by her subjects. One of the few that dared to defy her was Prince Farondis.
As one of the queen's trusted advisors, Farondis was in regular contact with the Highborne of Zin-Azshari, but his palace in Azsuna was several leagues away from the elven capital. As such, he was able to witness Sargeras' influence on the Highborne court without falling sway to the Legion lord's temptation.
Farondis' plan was bold, but simple: destroy the Well of Eternity in Zin-Azshari. Doing so would close the portal to Sargeras' realm and stem the tide of evil before it even started. In order to accomplish this task, he would use the power of an artifact stored deep within Nar'thalas Academy: The Tidestone of Golganneth.
Unfortunately, the queen's influence in Farondis' palace was already deep-seated. Vandros, a young noble in Farondis' court, caught word of Farondis' plans to defy the Queen, and reported the insurrection to Queen Azshara herself.
Azshara wasted no time in punishing Farondis and his people. In a frightening display of arcane power, she destroyed the Tidestone of Golganneth, and in doing so, released a wave of dark energy over all of Azsuna and its inhabitants.
Since that day, the elves of Azsuna have been unable to experience the release of death, and their spirits wander the land indefinitely.

This was the last of the big zones from Legion. I still have to remake old videos such as Highmountain or Argus, but at least they are there in the playlist (link below). I still have Class Halls and some dungeons, but that's for another time.
About the video, Azsuna is beautiful, too bad it doesn't have a better dedicated theme (other than "Passage"). I refused to use Vash'jir theme (by Derek Duke) or Moon Rising (by Edo Guidotti) because hearing them made me think I am straight in Vash'jir or Suramar. And one more thing, the ambience was insanely hard to mix.
I hope I've done a decent job.

I had more fun questing in the Legion areas than I ever did with Battle for Azeroth.
When I went to the BfA quests, I wished I could stay in the Legion areas. I made sure to return to solo certain areas once I grew stronger in the BfA zones.

Nice, I think Legion was pretty much the last cool expansion to date, thanks for the clip!
In terms of actual zone design Shadowlands is also pretty good, but Legion feels much bigger and to a certain degree this is important imo.
@@GeNN18192 Sure, the progression felt fun and creative indeed, but overall was pretty unrelatable, don't mean to hate on the game as I see that's the trend lately, but it didn't feel like playing a wow expansion to me. Seemed somewhat forced and aimless unlike Legion which actually went a bit deeper into the content which laid the story blueprint starting from warcraft and so on.
@@Algyr_ Yep, just a side story to Azsuna, used this zone for reference in future expansions. The amount of detail in there, all the overgrown elfish arrchtiecture / half sunken city is just too good. Did a little research and timing wise Legion was in mid development when the veterans of the Starcraft team where finished with Legacy of the Void. Since they didn't hve a follow up project I think some of those worked on Legion.
Which results in Legion had a significant larger and experienced workforce available than other expansions had. This also shows in the yet unmatched patch cycle of the expansion.

I feel there is a lot to do in Shadowlands as well. The zones are huge, but very different. I can't tell if Shadowlands is bigger than Legion or the other way. Because it is kind of impossible to compare them.
For the record, I enjoyed Legion much more than Shadowlands.

Not only the zones. A lot of things were good / decent in Legion, even though I stopped playing much after 7.3

Hi Egor. Yes, it is 10/10 graphics.
There is an issue with CZcams encoding the footage however. It doesn't look exactly like the movie encoded locally on my computer. (Edit: does = doesn't*)
