Do you like bookshelves but don't like how insensitive they are? How about a 96 dB standmount for $549 that trashes the competition? The Klipsch RP-600M features a hybrid Tractrix horn, a 6.5" spun copper woofer, and offers huge sound with tremendous ease and openness. - Zábava
Kevin and the RP 600M actually look very similar.
Yup an upside down Kevin.
Hahahaha! And he kicks ass like the speakers too!
I bought my RP600's from you and I love them! Great speakers to start off my audiophile set up.
love the fact that you are always honest! your review are great!
Brilliant intro! Ive bought a lot of NOS tubes from Kevin over the years.
Thank you for the recommendation to run these off the 4 ohm tap. I hadn't tried that and it elevated these speakers to a new level. Definitely more detail, clarity, and separation with the 4 ohm as opposed to the 8 I also tried this with their baby brother the R51M and had similar improvements to sound quality.
That intro was brilliant!
Its official, EVERYBODY has reviewed the 600m, (except Bill Clinton).
Maybe put a blue dress on the speakers?
He has a pair under his desk
Fun fact: Klipsch and Bill Clinton are from the same hometown of Hope, Arkansas.
Love the tube amp advice! Thanks
Love your comedy and reviews!! Rock on brother Man.
Hello Kevin, and Happy New Year from here in Boston.
I wanted to thank you for the tip, about running the RP-600M out from the 4 ohm tap on my Reisong A10 tube amplifier.
I had found them a little too harsh and dynamic from the 8 ohm tap.
Taking your suggestion and using the 4 ohm tap from my amplifier seems to have tamed the unwanted characteristics and left only the sweet tones behind.
In my case it really made a big difference. I learned something new today, thanks to you.
Thank You very much. Brez
God I love Kevin!!! Keep it all going Kev!
😎 love the review !! Subscribed 🙌
Thanks Kevin great job
I purchased a set about 3 months ago very happy
thank you for knowledgeable thoughtful information without the BS thanks
You're amazing! Thanks for the laughs :D
Man you crack me up, and make me wanna buy things
... for my dad
Kevin love your reviews dude. Can you do a review on the new Legend Series by Polk Audio that will be available for sale on October 1st.
Now that was fun!
Intro.
Subscribed.
Lol thanks for first laugh of day
If these would have come with a built in amplifier like the R-51PM I would have bought them. I settled for the R-51PM, my first Klipsch speaker purchase which hasn't been delivered yet. I hope I love them as much as you do the RP600M I just don't have enough space for a receiver.
Hit the subscribe button after that intro, freaking hilarious!
Colonel Klipsch has been building (and now his company) the absolutely the best speakers. In the old days they were giants until they designed the Heresy. My college had/has a large listening room with the commercial size Klipsh speakers, and nothing I've ever heard match those. The RP-600M is really not like the early designs, but the philosophy of the big speakers is there. I happen to own Canton speakers because I like the detail rather big sound. I would have no difficulty buying the 600M the next time I buy speakers. I would love to hear these with my not so expensive hybrid tube amp. It's also quite beautiful.
That's a neat story! Never had the chance to hear any Large size Klipsch Speakers so far but I would love to. But I had the chance to hear a pair of Onkyo GS-1 speakers in Japan and let me tell you those things were the closest thing to live music I have ever heard, it freaked me out. Onkyo made some top notch speakers back in the 70's and 80's that could probably top some of Klipsch for sure.
Kevin you are a salesman for sure...just got done watching another of your older clips on Focal speakers where you clearly state that you can't stand any speaker under 2K, lol
How about pairing a Decware amp with the Klipsches? WBT premium binding posts. A new crossover. Maybe some Bybee purifiers, like Ref 3 A uses. Things like that.
Hi Kevin… Great review … What 24 inch speaker stands do you recommend for this speaker . Thx 😊
That intro had me cracking up!
Yo Kev! Loving your channel and videos.
Where I live in New Zealand I can buy these or the 6000f for the same price.
Which one would you buy? I have a Tsakiridis Aeolos EL34 amp 2x30w.
Keep up the great work.
Hi Kevin, can u tell me about this master setup steps? i have bought the rp600m and trying to make them sound better in my room, besides, what you sugest to break in this speakers? thanks!
I am new to audio and started out with Polk s60 towers in the front. My room is only 20x13 and I'm thinking about swapping the towers out for the RP 600M's from Klipsch. How do you think these will compare to the Polk towers?
Not that this a good comparison, but I’m considering 2 sets of speakers. the Klipsch and also the B&W 704 S2. What’s your thoughts on the 704 S2 speakers?
Kevin, you are a freaking blast. This video just made my night. I heard these at RMAF 2019, and they are superbly detailed, and have a fantastic low end, and the soundstage was also pretty sweet. You also had a great display room. Keep these vids coming. :)
what is that speaker connect to make it sound warmer ? never heard of it
What is the best Klipsch sub to pair with these speakers? Thanks!
All the reviewers love those little Klipsches. The common word you hear from everyone is "fun".
Hi, wich one you recommend, the chora 806 or the rp-600 for general use?
How do you think these would match up with my old NAD 3130, its been restored
Great video as always buddy. Guys I’m Curious I’m thinking of getting a set of the speakers to run with a small sub for the extra little sub sound I was wondering what amplifier would you guys recommend that under $1000 for this
Hi Felix, Email info@upscaleaudio.com for product support and recommendations.
Upscale Audio High Fidelity thanks buddy will do.
I didn’t know John Malkovich reviews speakers, that’s badass!
Can't find them in walnut anywhere for less than $770. They have skyrocketed in price! Wondering if they are still the way to go with them now costing $250 more...?
What would these be like in a nearfield situation? Say 2m away?
Looks fun to me
Should I buy these or keep my KEF 101-2s?
Stranglehold is AMAZING!
Had me at 'ameliorate'
Does anyone know where I could get the 600Ms modded/upgraded? Premium WBT binding posts. New crossover. Perhaps some Bybee purifiers like Reference 3A uses. Things like that.
GR Research. Dan Richie.
"I'm sick of this dot com bullshit and these rich mofos." :)
That made me laugh.
This is a very smart guy. When a mfg declares the resistance value, it’s really a range average. It’s amazing how speakers with the same 8ohm or 4ohm rating varies through the frequency range and power range. My Magnepan’s probably dip down to 1.5 ohms. Kevin... that’s a great idea putting those Klipsch on the 4 ohm taps.
Someone should make a bi amp passive crossover delete kit .
I tried it bi amping with active crossover on my JBL and it was a dramatic improvement
I wanna ' know where to get a turntable/lazy susan like that? I could mod it to clean my vinyl. 😏
7:05 aaahh it's called PLACEBO effect. You can sell that for as much $ as you want hahah :D another snake oil video. What's inside this box? Air from the best live rooms?
This little speaker has been calling me for some time now. I own a set of minty Heresy HWO, RF5 and RB 51. I like driving them with a Scott LK 48 tube intergrated. Curious to hear the RP's on it.
I own a pair of RP-160m’s and their R-12sw sub. System rocks!!
Carl I have the RP-160m’s too and I agree. They’re fantastic. They’re almost identical to the RP-600m’s but didn’t get near the coverage for some reason.
Saving my money for these speakers. I’m from Australia, and here these speakers cost $1600.00 so much more expensive, even when taking in the Australian to US dollar conversion, because of the shipping costs. I still want these speakers though. Hopefully I’ll be pairing these speakers with the Audiolab 6000A integrated amplifier, should be a great match!
Check around they must be due to go on sale I got mine in Brisbane just after Steve Guttenberg reviewed them and I can tell you add a sub and there magic.
Darren S at the moment I have a Jensen 160 watt subwoofer which is pretty old, I’ve had it for over 12 years, might have to look at upgrading that to a Klipsch sub down the line. Unfortunately the 2ch amplifier I’m looking at upgrading to doesn’t have a dedicated sub out and no a/b speaker output. Maybe I might have to consider another amplifier.
@@benkrake3678 Might pay to audition some other amps depends on what your looking for I went with NAD 268/368 run them as mono blocks very happy with them, I so wish we had stores like Upscale audio over here then we would be spoilt for choice.
Darren S I’m from Adelaide, and all of the high end audio stores are on the other side of town, except Challenge HiFi which is on my side of town, but it’s still a bit of a drive. Although Harvey Norman are a Klipsch dealer, they are not allowed to sell the 600M’s, because they have an agreement only with the high end audio stores to sell their premier reference range. The only store in Adelaide that can sell the 600M’s is Denis White, which is on the other side of town. Will be worth it when I have the money to buy them though.
We get bent over and raped here in the land of oz when it comes to stuff like this.
I have 1 set 600m 1 set 500m and they are indeed good. The 500m in walnut and it looks great nice break from the plain janes.
Is there much difference in sound quality between the two?
@@OMG_BeCkY Both sound awesome but the 600 is huge in comparison very large for a bookshelf speaker giving it more authority imo. I am using the 500 for a rear surround but they do sound good alone.
@@treblarefils Thanks! Yea, the size (especially the depth) of the 600 is why I was looking at the 500 or even the 400. The 600 are so deep that once I bring them out from the wall a foot or two they'd be in the middle of freakin' the room lol. I wonder how the little baby 400 would sound paired with a subwoofer. From what I can tell they have the same exact tweeter as the 600. I'm trying to keep all my speakers exactly the same vs mixing and matching, even within the same line.
What was that little cable dongle thingy? Can't find anything about it anywhere...
It's the Ah! LS Noise Killer. www.upscaleaudio.com/products/ah-ls-noise-killers
@@upscaleaudio With respect, this is what it says on your page:
"The Ah! LS Noise Killer is a magic product.."
"They absolutely work."
Your hyping them that hard but you're also literally having to give them away. 🤔
Klipsch 600M vs. Focal Aria 906?
Klipsch 8000F vs. Focal Aria 936?
Is there a big difference?
i own both 600m and focal 936 and love them. Honestly, you cant go wrong.
I think the Aria 906 is superior to the 600M. But it also costs a lot more.
Klipsch speakers are priced appropriately. Focal are overpriced decor pieces that sound mediocre.
@@rotorfix you are mistaken, focal aria 906 specializes in midrange , has speed and lightness. Is among the most musical speakers you can hear bellow 2k.
Also note that in Europe the price difference with the rp600m is a couple of hundreds.
It all comes down to personal taste , I use rp600m near field as my daily driver but for critical listening focal 936 is clearly a better speaker.
@@ndis1977
Not even remotely close. I've heard the bigger 936 Arias at length many times. Their midrange is extremely cold and clinical - not anywhere near the natural tonality of many competitors. In all fairness to Focal, I've yet to hear a French speaker brand that gets the midrange right. JMR gets close but not quite as accurate as some of the best Brits. Must be something in the French wine that affects their hearing.
Anyway, I wasn't claiming Klipsch speakers are better, just that one gets more for their money with Klipsch.
C'mon Kevin - you should send every customer who orders these speakers a *blanket* to go with that Dutch doodad (I particularly like the fact that you 'cant get them' !). The blanket serves two purposes - you can either use a nail gun to hang it over any glass or other hard surfaces or you can cut eyes and a mouth in it and place it over your head. Anything to slow down the reflected sound in an untreated room has to be a good thing, right ? Winter will be howling down the streets of most American cities before you know it but your customers will be ready for it.
Are the RP 600M good for movies too ?
Yes for home theater but remember that tweeter is pretty powerfull and it has a ''In your face'' side
I have Klipsch RF7II with my anthem integrated 225
Darion Fox Love my RF7 IIs
I have the Klipsch RF 7 IIs with a NAD 777 and it is amazing!
You guys would do GANGBUSTERS if you started a podcast.
Manufacturers would cut them off if they bad mouth their products tho.
Haha never heard this guy! Funny!
Oh my God you should be a comedian and I love Klipsch speakers
Antonio Brown I have too many Klipsch speakers in my house, love them!
JA at Stereopile rated 'em 89.6db sens.Still with 8ohm load one could dick around with 6-10 SET's and they still would boogie at mom approved levels ("careful of your ears at that concert honey-what were they called "enginehead"?-well have a nice time").Yep want me sum and a chfi valve cheapie for a desktop.Hope they blend OK nearfield ad don't bonk because of the Tractix
They are made in Arkansas (well probably by way of China but am sure they have their Hill people to).
These are designed in Arkansas and manufactured in China. The top-of-the-line Klipsch are designed and made in Arkansas.
@@charleskatz2606 Well, the important thing to remember is,in Arkansas when a husband and wife divorce they are still brother and sister. To get to your question,I don't know the answer. The best thing to do is to call Klipsch and ask them.I have found their customer service to be very helpful.
Speakers that people can really afford.... like Tannoys? Good work.
i heard that these could sound better if there used tube connectors
This is a sales pitch not a true review.
Kevin is funny.
Polk audio is good also.
U and Me Bro !!! Lol
$549?? Where?
God buddy I Love the vids . I do freelance reviews for AVS and this is a KICK-ASS Speaker!
the end is near..... kevin trying to sell a plastic horn tweeter speaker.......
I bought a pair after all the hype. I got the piano black....Well...they're good....but not as good as the hype. Im gonna give em about 6 mos, maybe a year, but i don't see them as keepers. Thank god I didnt pay full price.
lilpoindexter Any change in your opinion?
@@ld4974 YES! They are the most accurate, precise silky smooth speakers I have ever owned.they do require a lot of work to find to find the best listening position, but once you find it, they are incredible. They definitely benefitted from break in. I have also added a small sub which adds a lot.
your gonna get some shit for this one ;)
Rega brio match well
Yeah I get it you need cents to make change!!!Simple!!!!
You didn't know? But I did. Hahaha just kidding
F-ing hilarious.
LMAO this channel is wild
Tombs up just because the Rolling Stone are behind!!1
hahaha Kevin you are the best!! love your political incorrectness xD
AND the attention to detail....STRANGLEHOLD! Love it.
Ahah! I'm one of the .com rich mofos who paid $7K for bookshelf speakers. Kevin is hilarious ...
lol 😂
Man, you gotta work on that intro track. Sounds terrible!
LOL
Shut the front door Kevin!!! 💯🤣🤣🤣....lol... I am gonna have just they've been buzz like a mofo across the board.. one of those things you just have to have around to say I've got those. . Sweet man! Always enjoy your vids. Subscriber since like forever.. see ya! ♥️✌️
Trey Horn
Heh ?
@@ralex3697 .. Now that's funny. Made sense at the time... Late night drinking and comments don't mix... Meant those Klipsch have been the buzz across tons of reviews and seem to be well liked. I want to get some to add to my bookshelf collection. Shut the front was sarcasm for Kevin reviewing an inexpensive speaker as opposed the the high end brands.. LOL, sorry about that...😂✌️
7:05 Oh bullshit. Shit like this makes me hate audiophiles
Klipsch lower lines make the whole brand look like dog crap.
Terrible cheap speaker... notwithstanding you’re an exceptional salesman.
Upscale audio? Not with this.
the worst opening I have ever seen you guys do.
