I don't recall Fotiu ever getting his ass kicked in a fight, he was that good of a fighter. He also never took unfair advantage of anyone, a perfect example of that is in this in fight. Notice how he stopped throwing punches after he threw Schoenfeld down. I highly doubt Schoenfeld would have done the same.
The GREAT Jim Gordon...and the GREAT Bill Chadwick...may they BOTH be at peace...this is when the NHL was REAL...not the commercialized money making garbage it has become....sadly the game has lost all its tradition..
Flyers fan here (don’t kill me, I’ve suffered enough) - Nick Fotiu was a class act and a phenomenal fighter. Always liked him. And he almost unwillingly fought and destroyed his opponent.
Rangers had those uniforms for two years under Ferguson. When he was fired they went back to their original ones. Ferguson then took the design to the Winnipeg Jets. Looked good for the Jets.
Few Rangers in their history were as proud to wear the uniform as Fotiu. Why Fred Shero gave up on him yet let Barry Beck practically run the dressing room is a mystery to me.

Schoenfeld was one of the strongest guys in the league and Nicky just destroyed him, I just dont think Fotiu knew how strong he was!!
Fotiu was a gentleman in this fight,he stopped punching Shionfeld when he was down.
Nicky was one of my all-time favorites. He didn't hit many guys when they were down, only Holmgren comes to mind.
