The emergence of photosynthetic microbes hurt the then-planet earth, as O2 (oxygen) was a toxic chemical to most other life at that time (anaerobic life). This occurred millions and millions of years ago, but as you were asking, I thought of several different scenarios where biology has impacted the earth (positively or negatively depends on whose perspective you're asking that question from). I'm working, so I can't go into proper detail, but the answer to your question is Yes, other life has "hurt" the earth. Heck, elephants do it all the time in their environment on a small scale...ok Cheers :)
Right?! At this point in time, the LORD God is using the Earth as a soul-factory, pumping out soul after soul. And why, you might ask? perhaps it's an attempt to back-fill the angels who sinned (?) I can only conjecture🤔
You are right, unless people start doing things to better than environment our impact is always going to be harsh..

Thanks for the input!
No other "animal" has made mass industrialized constructs across the world, therefore both the good and bad of human beings are at play right now...
What would hurt the planet the most is if we were to all die because then the planet would have no purpose.
