One-Punch Man is a Japanese superhero manga series created by One. It tells the story of Saitama, a superhero who grows bored from a lack of challenge because he can defeat any opponent with a single punch. One wrote the original webcomic manga version in early 2009. A digital manga remake, illustrated by Yusuke Murata, began publication on Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump website in June 2012. Other than Genos I feel like Metal Bat is the only character we’ve seen get slapped up by super fodder monsters, yet can show levels of strength that can even press the Cadres. So id like to take a closer look at just how strong Metal Bat is consistently. As an S-Class hero, Metal Bat is very powerful. Despite his lower rank, he is a powerful and intimidating combatant, threatening Sweet Mask (whose abilities are worthy of S-Class) with no fear, as well as holding his own against Garou. He is particularly hardy, capable of taking on multiple Demon-level monsters at once even after being drugged by one amid the fight. He has also stood up to dragon-class monsters, managing to cause Elder Centipede considerable pain with his swings. He was also able to fight against Garou in a duel, despite being gravely injured earlier by repeated battles against increasingly powerful enemies. While he was initially unable to do any damage against Sage Centipede, once empowered by his Fighting Spirit, he was capable of cracking Sage Centipede's defenses, which were significantly more durable than Elder Centipede's carapace defenses. On a supercontinent version of Earth that has four Moons, powerful monsters and villains wreak havoc. The millionaire Agoni creates the Hero Association, which employs superheroes to fight evil. Saitama, an unassociated hero, hails from City Z and performs heroic deeds as a hobby. For three years, he has trained enough to defeat any enemy with a single punch, his unmatched strength leaving him bored. He becomes a reluctant mentor to Genos, a cyborg seeking revenge against another cyborg who killed his family and destroyed his hometown, after Saitama defeats a monster that defeated Genos. The heroes learn that the monster influx comes from the Monster Association, an organization of monsters under City Z intent on destroying the Hero Association. The Hero Association assaults the headquarters to rescue the two children, causing a battle that destroys City Z and kills almost every monster. @@onmyown9552 while yes u are right his fighting spirit does help alot with his power, however if he gets one hit and is put down instantly then his fighting spirit wont be able to do shit. if he can take the hits of the person hes fighting then he will continually grow, but once someone too strong hits him too hard then his human body cant handle it no matter his fighting spirit (or atleast so far as we've seen.)

So Metal Bat will be protected in the same way in the face of a deadly powerful attack like the atomic slash or Flashy slash. @onmyown9552 ..brotha I think you're missing my point, yes his fighting spirit is most of what keeps him up and powers him but he also only became strong enough to hurt big centipede boy because centipede saw him as an insect and just swatted him away half assed at the start, letting him get ramped up. If centipede went at metal bat as hard as he could from the start, it would be too much for metal bat to handle and he would be out.

I think it’s funny to think about the fact that he most likely goes to a normal high school. Imagine going to school and seeing someone who could probably wipe the school off the planet if he wanted to.
Bang's reflection didn't make damage to darkshine because bang wouldn't hurt an S -class hero just for training purposes if bang was giving it his all and couldn't hurt darkshine that wouldn't make sense because he was fighting on equal terms with monster garou and monster garou imo could one shot darkshine because the garou before that at the end of his fight with darkshine was already damaging him.

Yeah, bang stats are enough to fully tank early monster garou and then he falls behind in raw stats but through probably superior martial arts he can fight against monster garou and even avoid getting hit directly while still getting hits in

Metal Bat is without a doubt my favorite character along side Tatsumaki. But he can really be summed up to:
If an enemy can one shot him, he loses. If an enemy can't one shot Metal Bat, Metal bat will eventually Win since he power scales to infinity the more damage he takes.
I honestly wouldnt be suprised if every bone in his body can be broken but due to his fighting spirit he would still swing with enough power to decimate his enemy should it connects.

Besides Blast and Tats, no other S-Class would be able to crack Sage Centipede's exoskeleton the same way Metal Bat did. That on its own is extremely impressive.

-Atomic wouldn't even be able to scratch him. Sage scales way way way above Golden Sperm, which is the strongest opponent we've seen the Sunblade used against. Keep in mind that even Garou before resonance was struggling with Sage, and yet he one-shotted Platinum Sperm minutes before Sage showed up. Sage>Platinum>Golden.
-And Genos is debatable, since it was an energy based attack, so we don't know how it would react with Sage's armor. It could just bounce right off for all we know.

1.- Platinum Is overall more powerful than Golden, but Golden was More durable and strong. When Atomic Samurai sliced off the arm of Golden S, he took away 12 billion cells leaving Platinum with just 43 billion remaining and His remaining 11 billion Black S copies. (Meaning originally Golden had 55 billion cells).
Platinum was the response to the Issue of Golden (that he needed way More speed)
Golden S (55 billion cells)
Platinum S (54 billion and he was built for speed).
Golden S was More durable and strong than Platinum (Platinum still wins because of his speed and techniques).
2.- Sage doesn't scale higher than Platinum.
Platinum has way More speed. Most of the strikes Sage landed on Garou were because Sage was blackmailing Garou (with the evac ship).
Platinum Is still way Faster than Sage or Metal Bat. (And he Is).
The same helicopter that couldn't track at all the fight of Flashy, Platinum and Garou, was casually recording the Sage centepede Battle. (Sage Centepede would never land a hit on Platinum Given Platinum moved all over Z city in fractions of a fraction, of a fraction, of a fraction, of a fraction of a second and he was basically invisible to others bc of how fast he was).
It Is very idiotic that fans think that just because Metal Bat was being boosted by Garou means he was as strong, fast or powerful. Sage centepede himself said that Metal Bat was a bug compared to Garou...
3.- Yes Sage centepede scales higher than Golden S but They might have similar durability. (Given Golden was More durable than Platinum) and yet Platinum and Sage remain at a similar level.
So i would say Atomic Can cut through Sage's armour.
4.- If Genos could compare and supress the firepower of a Monster like Psyrochi (who sliced off a continent) he would've probably killed sage Centepede using His 10 seconds mode while blasting him.

Buddy freaking Golden lost 12 billion cells when Atomic Samurai sliced off His arm leaving him with 43 billion cells.

Meaning originally Golden had 55 billion cells.

MB is basically the strongest S class after Tatsumaki,Blast and Genos right now.
You have to consider, most S class heroes got taken down basically due to fatigue. Metal bat came in with fresh hp.
By the way, I believe Flashy Flash and Bang clears him easily. His ability wouldn't have the time to build up because they are very skilled and to the point with their attacks. Just like how Garou handled him easily, he had the AP advantage but lacked heavily in skill and speed.
He only got his time to shine because Sage centipede is a much larger target to hit and his attacks boost Metal Bat's charge up time quicker due to how heavy and hard they hit.
Bang would incapacitate him easily, Flashy Flash would blitz a probably decapitate him, and even Atomic Samurai probably clears as well. Puri prisoner, tank top master, darkshine and Zombieman would get defeated the longer the fight goes on.
Although, Darkshine could vaporise Evil natural water with the sheer force of his punches, I don't think a clean hit to the head would leave Metal Bat standing (at least not with his head intact lol). Should be obvious, but I'm trying to say AP isn't everything.

After doing research, he had a bat made for him that quote "wouldn't break". With the ability to deal with Dragon type enemies and withstand attacks from the Sage Centipede.

-Sage himself sad he was like a bug compared to Garou in power, but due to the fact they were in armony Garou was boosting his attacks.
-The Battle against Sage wasn't nearly as fast given the helicopter (that previously couldn't even acknowledge the fight of platinum, flashy and Garou fight, even the narration says the media reported the fight as a result of sper powers and nobody it was them). The same helicopter couldn't keep up with them.
Metal Bat is strong but he should be below of Atomic Samurai with sunblade.
Also correction:
-Despite the fact Genos has enough firepower to blast continents in the MA arc his problem remains the same. He is a glass canon (not like Homeless Emperor but still), the individual copies of Black S destroyed him and he couldn't catch Psyrochi jet on his own he requiered the help of most of the S class (and again compared to the speed of Flashy and Platinum, who were figthing all around Z city in less than a minute is pretty clear Genos was still far from being the fastest) and also the fact MA Genos can't withstand the full power of his own core for more than 10 seconds or he could die.

Strength and durability scale of damage taken, if he's not overwhelmed by the damage, he can build to the point where what previously damaged him cannot currently.

3. Flashy Flash is literally much more than speed. He made Platinum sperm spit blood with flashy fists and clashed with Platinum sperm physically and tanked dozens of hits by him straight to the face and Platinum sperm is superior to Golden Sperm who bruised and oneshotted Darkshine also I am not even talking about how Platinum sperm literally admitted that Flashy flash was weakened because he didn't have hid sword and how Flashy flash killed two dragon level monsters without using his full power. On the other hand Drive knight's best feat is beating Nyan with a plan and full energy. His speed and strength is nowhere near Flashy Flash but Drive knight has maybe a durability advantage thank to his gold form but it has a time limit because of the energy issue and Flashy flash can dodge every single attack until Gold form's time exceeds. After that Drive knight would be dead before even he realized

First off he isnt small planetary as he didn't completely stop sage centipede's entire mass only a small section and at this point in the fight sage centipede was still partially underground
Secondly he does not scale above flashy flash in speed, as garou, metal bat, and sage centipede were percetable to normal humans, which means garou was going significantly slower than when he was making imperceptible light structures with plat s and flashy flash
That means at most metal bat is faster than genos, but is most likely slower than other speed s class heroes like bang and atomic samurai

With the resonance amp he is most likely small moon level as he was able to damage as sage centipede. He can only have this amount of power when he is combo attacking and in sync with a monster garou that is small planetary in his own right.
Garou with the resonance amp kept getting stronger up until the point where he one shotted sage centipede which puts him on the high end of small planetary up to this point. Metal bat is no where near relative to awakened monster garou.
His pumped up ap would be able to overwhelm darkshine's defenses though, although he is in essence a glass canon as he cant keep fightint forever he has a durability limit, which is most likely at large island as i doubt he has a higher durability than bang or darkshine
Golden s would most likely speed blitz metal bat, and the only reason why he stayed in the fight against sage centipede for so lont was because sage centipede was slow, and he was receiving a resonance amp from garou while he was already pumped up
In terms of rank, i would not put him at number 3
I would still see the ranking up to his proper placement as follows
Blast, Tatsumaki, Metal Knight, Flashy Flash, Silver Fang, Atomic Samurai, Genos, Darkshine, then pumped up Metal Bat no resonance amp
With resonance amp i would put him just ahead of silver fang but i think his durability would not be enough to survive a flashy slash, as flashy flash would speed blitz him

Nah dbz characters took forever to fly to get to the battlefield. At the speed of light you can travel around the world 7 times in less than a second. Not even in the Buu Saga were they as fast.
And Demon level characters are no where near the speed of light in One Punch Man.
Flashy Flash for his lightspeed is at the minimum Dragon level (and a really fast one). And any dragon is overall more powerfull than any demon for how the scale of power works.
So saying a Demon level character like Genos could evade light is as bs as it gets.

Still nah dbz characters never reached light speed until Super or buu saga. I can't stress enough how much they took flying on Earth and on Namek. At light speed they would've never arrived late.

You’re not scaling Garou accurately. He wasn’t weaker when he fought Genos. Garou copies abilities, he copied Metal Bat’s fighting spirit which is why he was able to keep fighting despite continuously taking damage, even when he was about to be knocked out and should’ve been by all intents and purposes. This is evidenced by the random boost he got against Bang and Bomb after being beaten to shit by them just like Metal Bat. He probably would’ve won that fight if he wasn’t taken away. Every time he fought a new opponent, he took their technique. He took fist of flowing water, crushed rock from Bang, fighting spirit from Metal Bat and then started fighting like Watchdog Man against Bang and Bomb cos he copied that technique too. This is why his final form is just copying moves directly from Saitama and Bang, he’s always been doing it, just not to as great a level. He copied both Bang’s and Bomb’s fighting styles. Garou wasn’t weak when he fought Genos, that’s not human Garou anymore.
I don't think metal bat was keeping up with garou. Especially when garou wasn't really running a lot when metal was there or are u saying base metal bat is faster cuz he was keeping up with metal bat? I also don't think that metal was keeping up with garou when they both attack, they were just syncing very well despite the vast difference in stat since the nature of their attack was thesame and it should include speed also

Ultra ego is not Realy OP, you cant just keep tanking infinite dmg, eventualy The batte damage will catch up to you and your power increase wont matter. Ultra ego is best if you fight someone around your level of Power, you tank few hits and just stomp him down due to power up. But if you fight someone who is leagues above you its not gonna work as his atacks will dmg you realy bad, sure you get stronger but you are near death so whats the point. But lets say you have Majin buu type of regeneration, then well Its broken suddenly, you will keep growing in power like crazy and with no negative drawbacks as you are regenerated.
