7-16-2024 I love this this album. It had better quality back when I grew up ...LOVE GOOD 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶It makes good & bad memories 😊😢GOD BLESS ALL 🙏🏿💪🏿✌🏿🎶🎶🎶🙏🏿
Take me back to my lil girl self bout 5 yrs old my mother had this album of him it was blue. But I remember this song.😢😢😢 my parents are both gone now lost my dad last year
This is from the pre-PBS TV show "Soul!" (prduced by Ellis Haizlip featuring live Black entertainment from all all aspects of the Black experience). I believe was aired January 12, 1972. The female is Brenda Lee Eager, who was leader of the group Peaches and also collaborated with Jerry on "Is It Real What I Feel", "Walk Easy My Son", "(They Long To Be) Close To You", "I Only Have Eyes For You" and an entire album released in 1973 entitled "The Love We Have, The Love We Had."
Thanks! I thought this was from Soul! Jerry Butler was actually the host of several episodes. I bought the episodes that are available from Amazon Prime. There are sone great performances and interviews there.
So True but I can count at least so many of our artist who never got the mainstream sucess but as Arlester Dyke Christain sang back in 1969 we Got More Soul and they know that
YES, in CAPS!! THIS IS STILL MY FAVORITE OLDIE but GOODIE!! And, back in the 80s / 90s THE CARTER BARRON AMPHITHEATER in WDC ..... saw MR. JERRY BUTLER perform LIVE. WE, the AUDIENCES HAD A FIT when HE DID ..... AINT UNDERSTANDING MELLOW❤❤❤❤❤
I knew as soon as I heard that church organ during the intro that this live version was gonna be 🔥. 1:17 SANG JERRY!!! That tv show “Soul!” is undefeated.
I needed this.. married 42+3 yrs.. it's to go separate ways.. Dementia is a robber of the person you have once loved and cared for. But enough is enough..I live with a stranger. 😮
You have just bared my soul, and spoke to my pain by sharing your heart, your dedication, unwavering love, it's overwhelming, it's sobering, it's humbling...
This recording takes me back to my childhood, growing up in Chicago but, there is no way I could have comprehended it's meaning, just a young child hearing a song on AM radio, that echo chamber sound that I remember, guiding me thru so many precious but rushed but treasured memories. Now, having been married 31 years to a dear wife who when I met her had already suffered a spinal cord injury, but, now dealing with cognitive issues. I still cannot imagine, on any level, what you are carrying, no amount or words or comments, none...
This is my favorite song of all time ! I can't get enough of it 💃🏿 thank you and God Bless You both for so many years of happiness ❤️ I have goosebumps and tears in my eyes watching this ! Brenda saying 'aint it mellow' at the end always gets me emotional ❤️❤️
'COOK COUNTY COMMISSIONER', JERRY BUTLER was TOO KIND to ME in JUNE 1993 when I was FRUSTRATED COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST for the NEWLY OPENED 'PROVIDENT HOSPITAL of COOK COUNTY and WALKED RIGHT IN WITHOUT an APPOINTMENT, and sort of just 'BOGARDED' ( a CHICAGO EXPRESSION 😎) MY WAY IN to HIS OFFICE where HE 'HEARD ME OUT'😜(COMPLAINING about MY BOSS and some other 'STOOPID' STUFF, but I can HONESTLY SAY that HE 'ACTED' on MY CONCERNS! And I was PRIVILEGED to CREATE a PHOTO MEMORY of HIM that DAY in JUNE 1993! 'The ICEMAN' was JUST as SMOOTH and JAZZY at the COUNTY BUILDING as HE IS in 'THIS' VIDEO, and how bout YEARS AGO, I was 'BLOWIN' 'THIS' SONG also, as 'LADY SNOW' from the 'WINDY', aka the CITY of CHICAGO!💃🏽 BIG UP for UPLOADING and UPLIFTING✌🏽💜

I thought Brenda Lee Edgar had passed...or maybe I'm thinking of Betty Everedge?
@@gloriaking9131 Betty Everett passed.

The Iceman, a Nickname that was given to him from the late great philly radio jock legend Georgie woods
Jerry and his wife gave me a lift in LA once. Nicest people u could imagine.
So beautiful and live,we were spoiled back in the day but just didnt know it🤟🏽
that voice is like silk🥰😍🤩❣
A vastly under appreciated singer who deserved far greater mainstream success. He really should've been an A list superstar
He was for the period from '60-'72 or so.
So True but I can count at least so many of our artist who never got the mainstream sucess but as Arlester Dyke Christain sang back in 1969 we Got More Soul and they know that
That was one of my songs back in the day!
The Iceman Jerry Butler
All time legend.
I loved this song growing up, and now seeing it performed live takes it to another level.

My favorite cousin played this vinyl 45 at her apartment in New Orleans!

I was a kid when this song was played on the radio!! Very rare footage 🎶 🎹 🎸!! So soulful and awesome.
Brenda Lee was feeling it!!! Just look at the expressions on her face as she hits those notes. She was like "I got this"!!!
The Ice Man....Oh those days....reach out and touch your radio, feel the vibes deep down inside. The Ice Man Sings. Peace
