I have one of their older 34" 100hz 1440p ultrawides. It's decent for the $350ish I paid for it. Refresh could be a little better and color accuracy isn't all that good, but good enough for gaming. Would buy again.

Yup, monoprice used to be the go to for cables back when you're only option was monster cables at best buy for $100 dollars or nothing. Once amazon came in and destroyed that little niche, they started re-branding cheap chinese/korean products under their own name/brand. It's a real crap shoot because some of the stuff they sell is great while other stuff is more expensive versions of crap you could get off amazon but under the monoprice name. So, do you're diligence when buying monoprice stuff. Heck, even these monitors are just the b grade panels from LG/Samsung that every cheap korean monitor on Ebay uses but in monoprices shell.

1440p one day please. The keyboard uses optical switches like the new corsair K100 that's why it's the price it is but I do hear the quality of the optical switches could be better but it's for gaming kinda like black switches were it registers at the beginning of the actuation. I have a Dieyra wireless keyboard with black switches and a corsair k65 rgb with red switches and I much prefer the reds so I wouldn't get an optical switch keyboard.

Most of the newer VAs are pretty good unless you are looking for the black smearing in certain circumstances/dark transitions. Some people notice it more than others though, but it's at the point now where most people have to be specifically looking for it to even see it. Meanwhile me looking up ultrawide 1440p 144hz monitors .... price average $250-400 ..... to be fair though, the higher quality faster response time ones are more expensive at around $450-700 Especially if you want good colors. Also the size definitely makes a difference price wize. Large monitors come with a premium. Overall I'd say the monitor itself is definitely a decent budget option if someone is looking for a more premium ultrawide without spending too much to feel uncomfortable about

    I got a 34" MSI Optix Mag341cq 3440 * 1440 100 Hz VA-panel monitor.
I got this monitor for only 365 € (with taxes) from a deal of a german online retailer. MSI also offered 50 $ steam cashback.
Monitor is "meh" I must admit. It has some big advantages over the Samsung u28e590d 4k 60 Hz monitor I decided to keep as a secondary monitor:
    1) Refresh rate. The Samsung now looks stuttery in comparison.
    2) Ultra-Wide screen. You can see a lot more around you what brings a big advantage in FPS games.
    3) 34". Didn't expect that 28" is "small" but now after I got used to 34" even that is not enough.
But the MSI has some severe disadvantages. Do keep that in mind if you play with the idea of getting this monitor:
    1) Brightness. This is the biggest disadvantage. I did set brightness to 100 %, upped contrast, upped brightness in games, upped gamma in Windows and still I can hardly spot enemies by night in Warzone in darker areas even when no lights are ignited in my room.
    2) Resolution. Coming from a 4k monitor this picture is blurry as hell. You need to turn on AA to minimize edges that you can see even 1m away from the monitor. On the 4k monitor one could distinguish faces in single player games even ~50m (virtual distance) away from player. Also with ultra textures one hardly could not distinguish real world from in game graphics in Kingdom Come Deliverance at first. I was impressed the first time I saw this on the 4k monitor.
    3) Color reproduction. There is no setting to calibrate to so that colors are being shown "realistically". Even with Windows color settings I could not get rid of a color shift. After adjusting monitor for hours colors were shifted either in red or in green or in blue or in any combination of those. Just get a calibration from an online source and stick with it and try to not be upset with this unrealistic colors.
Despite the disadvantages the monitor is good for gaming (especially Multiplayer games) but not in every situation, though. So I will keep the 4k 60 Hz monitor for single player games and the MSI UWQHD monitor as main monitor.
I would like to have a affordable 34" 100 Hz 5040 * 2160 monitor with enough brightness and contrast. Comeon that can not be so hard. Why isn't there such a monitor for around 500 - 600 €?

I just did! Had a comparable 34" LG 1ms 2k UW (but only 100hz and 2.5 nits) in my Newegg cart for 369, and just went for last minute promo code search, when I saw that monoprice had just put the Dark Matter on sale for $150 off. 2 day free shipping too, should be here on the 18th!

@@definitelynotthecia4998 I will, but remind me with another post here if I forget lol. Doing research now on ideal settings and recently upgraded my psu and ram in anticipation of a black friday monotor purchase. I did a ton of research this month and this monitor was on my short list, as it checks almost all the boxes in was looking for. I just wanted to come in at under $400 shipped and taxed, and so was leaning toward mostly 32" options.
Of my 5 top choices, $380 total still beats all of them, and also has the supeior color, minimal backlight bleed and slim bezzeled 34" inch screen. Only compromise is the lack of true 1 ms response time. And I don't have to spend 4 hours a day refreshing 20 different sites for the next 10 days. Also this monitor's history of selling out every time it's on the market, made me pull the trigger. I didn't want to wait another week and end up wishing I'd grabbed it. It was already a good deal at $500.

It is not dumb when it lasts 5-8 years. I just picked up a 1440p/165hz for $400 after taxes and intend to use it for at least 3 years. It's not dumb if you enjoy enjoying your things. If you're not gonna touch and it's only for looks? Sure get something cheap. This isnt for you.

Picked up this monitor used for $135, very happy with it. Black levels aren't incredibly dark but it's good otherwise. Nice, vivid colors.
I have a few cheap monoprice mechanical keyboards both using genuine cherry switches, I am pleased with both for the low cost. $30 for a TKL cherry Speed Silver and about $40 for a Cherry MX blue ten key.
Their mice don't nec. look like a good deal at all. I personally wouldn't go back to any mouse without a few dedicated macro buttons and good supporting software, though. At $32 you have better options.
I have a pair of studio headphones from Monoprice which I rate average for their $100 retail but excellent for the $25 they went on sale for, with padded zip up case.

The VA panel on this monitor is a deal breaker, IPS panels will give you better viewing angles & better color accuracy. VA monitors tend to have ghosting & a white trail effect when moving your mouse cursor on the screen...
