I lived in Shenzhen, China for 8 months and that is their strategy. Make money there, invest it in Africa. Reason being the tech boom has raised wages of skilled labor in China. So a Chinese company will farm out manufacturing work to Africa because there is no minimum wage there, making it is cheaper to produce in Africa. Africa has become China's China.
And you'll continually see more and more investment in infrastructure from Chinese backers. Akons billion dollar backing to connect isolated villages with electricity and internet is living proof.

@@tehy123 Actually, the dollar has been losing value for years now. Countries are getting tired of being bullied by the U.S. and how they manipulate it's power. Cryptocurrency is providing an alternative for many countries.
teh y well, actually you have those who are interested in such technology (because of the privacy/security/ease/speed) and see potential in it. the government give the value but paper is nothing, everyone believing it has a value makes it medium of exchange; otherwise we’d be still bartering. Those such as speculators, now, can predict that the price will go up but they buy now. If everyone is doing that, based on supply and demand, the value goes up and that is your confidence
@@tehy123 I make a living trading currencies. NO ONE makes "wealth building" money trading the USD except our shady government and people with already deep pockets and manipulative practices. There are currently 8 currencies more valuable than the USD. I don't have time to go into a history lesson and break down how we went off the gold standard in 1970 so the gov is no longer held accountable to have a viable gold reserve to back all the dollar they print. There is a reason federal authorities do not allow independent audits of Ft. Knox. Bitcoin and other alt coins are a much better "store of value" than gold or most other assets. Bitcoin is not the best option for payment purposes and no one thinks it is. There are many other alt coins that can and are already being used for transactions. Is it volatile? Yes, it is. Never invest more than you can afford to lose. Even after the crypto crash of 2017, BTC is still up 185% this year, 38% last 3 months and 44.51% in the past 12 months. That still beats fiat currencies and most stocks. Last point, yes other countries have their own currencies but they still invest in crypto (not just bitcoin) because they see the value and alternative performing assets are always being acquired by governments. I am not saying BTC is the end all be all but at least educate yourself about it in the context of overall investment and you will see the value.

"There have to be some people who actually want to use the currency for everyday use, or it's just going to flop in the end" You said a bunch of nothing there as no one uses gold today as a currency yet its valuable.
