    Both DMC and DD need to start making their drills out of glass. Better for the environment and also way more shine. Currently this option doesn’t exist as far as I can tell. Why? I know plastic is cheapest, but the planet and our oceans deserve better and I know that crafters would be thrilled to have more options. Diamond painting comes from a much older art form (mosaic) and I would love to think that at some point, some master crafters used actual semi-precious or even precious stones and metals to make them. It can’t be called “diamond painting” for nothing.

    What's the best software to use for custom diamond painting. I used art stitch easy and I previewed the painting before printing, and after completing the picture, one of the faces looks too clumped up with the same colour. I was sent a screen grab of a picture. Any ideas as I wanted the faces to have better detail.

    I absolutely love this!! I need you to point me in the right direction. I really-really want to get a custom diamond painting of something specific. Its secret , but they are my favorite thing in the world. How do I know if there is a copy right on the art?

    • @tinyworldsofwonder
      @tinyworldsofwonder  Před 3 lety

      I can’t advise you specifically (I’m definitely not a lawyer), but in general terms, unless you created the image yourself you can be almost certain that any image created after 1925 is under copyright - it’s just a matter of finding out who owns it. There are some exceptions regarding lapsed copyrights and renewals, but they take a lot of research to find. For the lay person, it’s much more feasible to assume that 1925 is the public domain cutoff. If you can locate the image owner, they can grant or sell you permission, and sometimes they will for personal use. 🥰 I hope that helps!!

I wonder price wise if you’d come out ahead by ordering a custom vs how you did it. It’s such a shame that the gridlines show through. It’s so beautiful! I've considered a process like this before but I wasn't sure if the cost would be any different - I'm always looking for a way to save a little money, especially with how expensive DP's can get! I'm an artist and I have a very complicated request from a client. I've never done this before and she asked me to draw this design straight onto the grid fabric. Problem is, how am I supposed to use marker on adhesive? Or without getting it so dirty. Does the tape stick back on? I really can't special order anything, all she gave me was the fabric and the size......

    • @tinyworldsofwonder
      @tinyworldsofwonder  Před 3 lety

      Wow, that is an unusual and complicated request! :) The plastic protective cover can be removed and then placed back down as long as the same side faces down both times. The adhesive itself is permanent on this kind of grid fabric, but it may not be so tacky that it's impossible to draw on. You're correct, the canvas would be easy to get dirty and the only way to avoid it would be to work in small areas quickly. That said, I think it's likely possible, although definitely outside the box!! I'm not 100% certain if her plan will work - how for example would she handle placing diamonds in areas where the drawn line cuts through the grid boxes halfway? It's an interesting prospect for sure!

  • @EmeraldsandFairyLights

      I don’t know why you couldn’t. As long as you use 2.8mm round drills, which is the standard size. I ordered a few cheap Amazon diamond paintings when I started and the drills are 2.5mm rounds. But you’ll still see the grid lines with round drills like she did.

    • @tinyworldsofwonder

      @@cathrenriddler45 Will do!! I am very sad about it too. I was planning to order one for our event, and I'm sad not to have the option. I'll let everyone know if I hear back from Diamond Dotz. :)

    Didn’t it come with a light table? Then you can tape the dot lines under the paper?!

      A light pad would be a great idea for working on blank fabric. :) Sadly this fabric came with pre-printed lines.

    I love the idea of using the enlarged detail. The grid lines showing is very unfortunate though. 😢

      Hi, Cynthia! Diamond Dotz brand has some really great licensed character kits. I think they're available in craft stores like Joann Fabrics or Hobby Lobby. :)

    The down falls are the grid lines and way too much white showing around the round drills(did that make sense?). Now if they come out with square drills look out world. 😂😂🎉💎🍀

      I hope they do too! That would solve the problem for sure. I don't mind the white - I don't think it's that visible in real life - but the gridlines are SO dark. I hope they will make an adjustment there. :)

      They definitely are. I now have a Hobby Lobby in my local area that carries DD supplies, but when I made this video, I had to order everything online. :)

    You won't see the lines if you remove the backa and place it in a frame the same size with a plain white backdrop!

      Like, since it goes on a separate plastic layer, there isn't much of an issue with that

    I'm really disappointed that she couldn't show us how to actually use the blank canvas as she's diamond painting. Im trying to figure that out and I am stumped. Please show a video for the actual diamond painting of your own from showing how to actually do the dp on the canvas not just the half picture. Thank you so much in advance
