- The former Bishop of Bruges has told a French TV crew that the abuse of his 5 year old nephew was like 'a game' and admitted that he abused a second relative. Under Belgian law he cannot be charged because too much time has elapsed since the crime.

It just shows that they have *no remorse* for what they did. Even the way he talks about it--he uses the excuse that he didn't *physically* force the children, but there's *so* much more to it. Sure, let's just completely ignore that he was the adult in the situation and children are taught to do what adults tell them or they'll be punished. It's not like that could play into it *at all* I'm sure.
I sincerely doubt it stems from any sort of actual misunderstanding of abuse and how it doesn't have to be physical. It's him blatantly utilizing *other* peoples' lack of understanding or sympathy towards him or his position so that he can reduce the impact of what he did. It's very likely entirely intentional and it makes me want to smack him.

I have heard rumors of goings on with priests and nuns too, but I'm not sure if they are true. There have been priests who have had affairs with women then left to marry them. Off topic but I think there is a lot of misdeeds going on. The lifestyle of a priest is too restrictive, they need to have more chance to interact with other people on a level any from being the holy priest.

I suppose it was a version of Water-Boarding that didn't look too obvious to the medical staff that may have wandered by. I am not sure why a poli e officer said "Good!" when he asked a nurse if there were cameras in the room. I could go on. I live in Canada. I'm a lifelong Catholic and I will always consider myself Catholic. I haven't gone to church in years and I've lost all faith in the hierarchy of the Church starting with the pope down through the priests in local parishes. The Catholic faith isn't defined by the child rapists in priests vestments nor by the failed pontiff who orchestrates the concealment of their crimes.
The Church has failed its followers abysmally and on every level. It is flawed, I believe beyond repair.
