I didn't have that kind of straight in socket wrench, so I looked behind the seat from inside the trunk. Pulling back the carpet lining I could clearly see the bolts and get ahold of them with a regular wrench. A pair of pliers might have worked too. Somehow daughter's car got a bunch of ants under the seat and had to go after them!!

Thank you! That actually looks pretty simple. I need to replace one of my rear seat belts, but the service manual calls for removing the seat. I thought I was going to have to pay someone, (way too much $$$), but now I think it's a job I can handle.

@@tinkthefoxylilmiss6801 its not completely flat but there's less hump, I recommend removing the swiveling top cushion and leaving the bottom cushion if you're going to make a bed.

It helps to lean the seat backs forward a little bit and you can access those bolts (and even see them) better.

Jennifer Myers true , I bought some car seat covers from Costco, I got the mesh fabric but they also offer leather and neoprene, fits good but I’m here because if you don’t take the back seats then it will be hard to fit them snug

4 15mm bolts and 2 electrical connections for driver seat, for passenger seat is 4 15mm bolts and 3 electrical connections in 2017 SE elantra
Why would I want to take the bench out? It's the back of the seat I want to take out.

how the hell can you fold the rear seats on a elantra 2015? is it possible without taking them out? I searched the whole internet for about 3 hours and no-one knows that apparently. I refuse to think that Hyundai did not take this folding option into consideration!
cristi1481 pull the pins out located in the trunk near speakers. Then push the seats forward until they are flat. I hope this helps.
