This is a great explanation of the basics. However, just FYI, a domain can have multiple IP addresses and vise-versa. That was one thing that really threw me for a loop when I was trying to learn this stuff. I watched a lot of videos that said it was a 1:1 ratio. So when I looked up the IP of a website URL and found it had two IP addresses, my head exploded. Upon further research, I now know how that can work. It's called computer magic.
Excellent video!
oh yes. The domain holds a lot of power. It can configure emails, ftps, VPNs, subdomains, etc.

Easiest explanation ever...
Hi Steve, love the vids. I like the background. Is that a log cabin? Tiny house?
16x16 foot cabin.
Great
Can you do this on hostinger?
Hostinger is a hosting company. I think they also sell domains.
Thank you very much. God say in my religion (islam) : God have mercy on whoever do a job and master it. you just mastered the explanation sp may God give you all what you want!
Hey , what in this case is webhotel?
That is not a common term, but likely it is a server (hosting).
❤
My question is?
When a company like Bluehost offers Unlimited Websites with 1 domain.
Does that mean you can piggyback the unlimited websites under the 1 domain....
Or do you have to purchase a separate domain for each website..
If the website can be piggybacked under the main domain.
Do you have a video explaining how??
Thanks for sharing your info..
Unlimited websites means you can install as many sites as you want onto the server. Each would be in its own folder. you would buy the domain separately and point them to the server (host). If you bought 5 domains from godaddy you'd point each one to your hostgator hosting. In hostgator, this would the add these domains as "addon" domains. Some hosting packages don't allow any addon domains and make you pay more to have multiple sites on one hosting package.
Okay. So yes?
I do need a domain for each website....
With the package that offers
1 domain
with the unlimited websites..
@@mssburr OK. So that doesn't make sense. You can't have unlimited websites with one domain. Let's talk more. Contact me on my business site and I will see if I can help web907.com/contact/
@@npally I think you may have answered my question.
I was looking at the PLUS plan.
www.bluehost.com/hosting/shared?
But once you said domain my brain finally clicked.
I miss read it.
I was reading it as if you would get
1 domain with unlimited sub sites..
like pages.. I need sleep..😂
@@npally I just subscribed and will keep your your site info for future...
" Help! I lost" moments.😀
so confused dude so how do I move my house?
Hey, so moving your house (your website) requires it to be migrated to a new peice of land (server/host). If your website is built with an open source platform like wordpress then this is fairly straight forward. If your website is made with a proprietory platform (wix, squarespace, etc) - then it can't be moved. Hope this helps.
Honestly I still did not understand the term website & domain. I've just purchased a domain, on the front page service provider says unlimited domain but after purchased the domain, they say it means unlimited website hosting, so I start believing that it just a gimmick of making people fool
I bet they mean you can host unlimited domains. Some host only allow you to use 1 or 2 domains per hosting plan. Unlimited hosting doesn't make sense. Unlimited what? bandwidth, cpu, ram...? So, I think they mean you can host as many domains as you want. Each domain would represent a website.
For ordinary people like me, I instantly feel like I'm an expert lol
