bmth parasite eve reaction bring me the horizon parasite eve . - Hudba
“It’s not my normal cup of tea, you know I’m much more into ooOooOooOoo ERrgHGHhGH!!” 😂
The song at the beginning is a traditional Bulgarian song called Ergan Deda I believe
yaaaaas thank you!
Ergen* Deda, but great job finding it dude ! :O
Auto correct haha -_- and you say this it's stolen from original video ^_^
God ♥️
@@KardavoxAcademy if you search in youtube for this "ерген деда" you will find the song from the begining. Be sure to copy what I wrote tho, since our Bulgarian letters get a bit funky in the search bar! 😄
BMTH did a series documenting the making of this song. And there's videos of oli in some of videos screaming completely raw through a phone video.
I'm definitely gonna have a gander at those. Thanks for the heads up!
Kardavox Academy Could you review that as well, maybe ? 😊
You able to provide a link to that Doco? I would love to check it out
@@backfaced it's on the BMTH youtube channel. same one as their video's
oli Sykes has learned how to scream properly and it’s better than ever. He even does the Dani filth scream live on stage sometimes
Vocal fry?
Actually, Dani help him to scream in a better way
Didn't he get lessons from Sam Carter at some point?
@@KhaosKontroller this is super late but Jordan has also given him lessons
@@horrorking1000 sometimes, sometimes he does also high Falsechords
Came for the BMTH stayed because you’re just a ray of sunshine 💜😂
You said you knew he damaged his vocals and that you haven't heard them in awhile so I'd love to know what you think of their EARLY stuff, Count Your Blessings era like Pray for Plagues/Chelsea Smile when they were actually Deathcore and more fit the channel. That's the stuff that just SOUNDS like it hurts to do
Oli f'd up his vocal cords from years of screaming. But he's slowly getting it back.
Yeah, if you don't have safe technique and pair it with lifestyle choices that are hard on your voice, its a one way ticket to vocal problems
@@KardavoxAcademy I love your reactions and vocal explanations. Keep it up
I remember that a lot of people I knew said BMTH was done because Oli's screams weren't going to be as "raw" anymore. How wrong they were, only to discover that his cleans were the greatest thing for the band.
actually no. yes he did hurt his voice, but he said himself that they recovered back to normal and are fine. they only started doing clean vocals out of coincidence as the band wanted to do something new. if you watch any of his live shows from amo you wills see that his screams are better than ever.
@@luisholley5858 lol dude no, if you listen to his scream vocals you'd know what you just said is incorrect.
I have watched his live screams. It sounds like air passing through a smooth hallway, almost as if there's no meat left in his chords to distort. They are literally worse than ever.....
i openly hated this song when i first heard it, but it grew on me so fast. and now its my favorite song of 2020
That outro had you in your feels because they got one of THE best producers on the planet to do this song. (Mick Gordon)
I'll have to look into more stuff that he's worked on!
@@KardavoxAcademy If you've played either of the new DOOM games then you will be familiar with his work, if not then you are in for an absolute treat.
@@TheHaggis0451 ehhh partially true. He had very little to do with doom eternal because they offered him the contract got the soundtrack like 5 months before game release
Well. Actually the Mick Gordon thing is more like a featuring, that outro could've been done by Oli and Jordan
I fucking knew i was getting doom vibes!
The actual parasite eve music hit in the feels 😭
Hahaha glad someone caught it :)
you should definitely react to some Architects, sam carter is easily one of the best British heavy singers around right now
I second this.
Seen him live twice, fantastic
one of the best? he is the best expecially live
This definitely needs to happen
Their visuals are always so cool and different in their music videos.
I appreciate that these analyzations aren't all just some variant of deathcore. Definitely stoked to see more weird and varying genres of metal & vocal styles.
"scream like a demon, and sing like an angel"
-Oli
Hey, that's our motto at Kardavox Academy! - Alex
Nah, that's Chester
@@klemoa was just going to mention Linkin Park
And chazy
😉
Almost as good as Chester Bennington
Honestly I really love this style for bmth. I don't mind it! I love all their stuff from "Re: this is what the edge of your seat was made for" (sorry if I butchered it) to "amo" and now this! "Post human" is gonna be awesome!
My man loved that "OH, OH!" hahaha. Same
That was crazy perfect song!
Its not bad at all!
The sound clip at the beginning sounds like Bulgarian Folk music
Edit: Found it! The song is Ergen deda, cherven deda (Ерген деда, червен деда)
Well, I gotta listen to more Bulgarian Folk music!
@@KardavoxAcademy Yeah, found it for you! It is indeed a Bulgarian folk song. The song is Ergen deda, cherven deda (Ерген деда, червен деда)
@@KardavoxAcademy I've been listening to it for a while, thanks to Ghost in the Shell (1995). Those Bulgarian Choirs are something else.
I just assumed it was something from Parasite Eve :P.
Bulgarian folk is awesome
Love the use of Parasite Eve game music in the intro. Dope video.
Glad you spotted that!
Enjoyed this, I always dig seeing vocal coaches talk about vocals and I don't see many talk about these kinda growls and metal style vox.
Would love to see you go over a Dir En Grey song, the vocalist is so impressive.
Well Damn, i haven’t listened to these guys in ages and this is actually really good. i dropped out when they stopped their heavier stuff but this is a sick sound.
The song in the intro is a Bulgarian folklore song. I was pretty amazed that they used it... It's veeeery famous here in Bulgaria :)
It’s for some reason very familiar here in the US. Maybe in movies or shows!
@@MayflowerGold_ Kind of odd tho, I have noticed the same song used from Lady Gaga and in few movie tracks. They should start changing it a bit 😃
It's so great every reaction video everyone eventually gets the giddy tingly smile. I got it too! It gives me such a tingly feeling and I got so giggly with this song. It's so nice
Sempiternal, the recent single Ludens, and Parasite Eve are some of their best work, imo. Count Your Blessings has some dope tracks, but is less heavy. Amo and "music to..." are very poppy or pop-rocky. Wouldn't recommend Amo and "music to..." unless you like that vibe, but Sempiternal is very metalcore, heavier on the screams. These newer tracks remind me a lot of Sempiternal in the best ways.
DemonLordRaiden I’m sorry, did I read this wrong or did you just say Count Your Blessings is “less heavy” if that’s what you meant.. I don’t think you were listening to the right album. Count Your Blessings is the heaviest album BMTH has ever put out, it was their first studio album and its full on deathcore.
@@twentyyears4788 I mistyped! I meant That's the Spirit, not Count Your Blessings.
DemonLordRaiden ah thought so!
sempiternal used to be my fav but after post human im not so sure haha
I'm kinda teaching myself screams. Oli is both an inspiration, and a warning to not over do it, for me. Glad I found this channel, because the advice along with a reaction, and kinda critique of the vocals really helps me kinda "get it" in terms of where to look for improvement. Good shit!
My fave thing about him and bmth is they veered into other genres and kept their passion, I love 90% of everything they've put out. They're such a talented band and they kill it
@@Ze_Leviathan dude, same. They've jumped into so many different genres, and killed it every time.
You absolutely have to react to their live version of “Doomed”
Nice video man! Love the information you comveyed~! Oh also awesome singing voice bro
Thanks for watching!
agree!! 1000%
Id love to see you do ludens BMTH I feel like he pushed his limits more in that song.
That outro hits me a certain way too. Love the insight and reaction! Awesome stuff!
Thanks dude!
This is with Mick Gordon, the composer of DOOM game soundtrack
I love how you find the different vocal strategies etc. very informative. thank you
My pleasure!
Their music has definitely evolved, and I love it! I started listening to them back in 2013, right after Sempiternal came out, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into in checking out their older music, but I really enjoyed it. Oli’s vocal evolution has been fascinating, and their overall sound as a band has changed so well, they’ve stayed ahead of the times and improvised so nicely. I’d love to see you react to their music more, either for vocals or just how they sound as a band. Your reactions are fun and they’re awesome so yeah, keep it up man. 🤘🏻
Thanks , David. Be sure to stick around for more! - Alex
Always enjoy your videos, they have given me motivation to try and learn metal vocals and even though i don't always look at the theory i enjoy watching your authentic reactions
That's great to hear, bozin! If you want to learn in a safe environment and not risk damage to your vocals, you can drop us an email on kardavox1010@gmail.com to find out about our lesson offerings :) - Alex
I’ve been a huge fan of them since CYB launched, will always love them despite missing suicide season era :(
I'm definitely planning on catching up on their music
Kardavox Academy since you seemed to like PE, you’ll really like Ludens, however a lot of AMO isn’t like this, it’s much more pop rock/ electronic with some songs being pure radio rock. I enjoyed it still but it definitely wasn’t for everyone, but thanks for reviewing a song by them, I love your videos and hopefully someday I can become a student when I have the confidence to do it!
Dude I still love the idea so much of someone hearing anything after Suicide Season, and going BACK to check out Count Your Blessings. It’s like a totally different artist.
J Swang it really is lol
loved it! I really like how the video made!
I love how he sticks to his terminology throughout all of his videos.
Makes it easy to learn, and follow along.
His terminology regarding technique is pretty comprehensive and easy to grasp, too. Very visual.
Niiicce, didnt see this coming!! This songs a banger!!!
First off, it was super interesting listening to you explaining the techniques Oli used! Definitely gonna come back to this channel!
BMTH are so incredibly brilliant with the music they create. They mix genres, tweak it to make it their own and then put AMAZING vocals to go with it. The band is a whole bunch of musical geniuses (especially oli). This song is going to be a punch to the face live, especially now that Oli has gotten his voice back and learned proper techniques. Don't get me wrong, his clean voice is beautiful, it's just very fun to see more of what he did when i got into them around sempiternal's release.
First time watching one of your videos and i love the contents, love the reactions and also the explanations you give in them.
first video of yours i'm seeing and man do i love your energy!
Thanks bro!
such a bomb song love to hear the breakdown from a coach also
Thanks Jared! Hopefully we'll see you around on our other videos! - Alex
It is cool to see your reaction to the song while learning at the same time.
11:41 that was my inner reaction before the breakdown. 😂 I got so excited. I really like this song. If they make an album like this and ludens. Im 100 percent fine with that.
Props to you for putting some Parasite Eve music in the intro :D
Awesome video, definitely gotta hop on that patreon for some lessons!
Awesome, we'd love to have you! You can also reach out to us on kardavox1010@gmail.com for more info on private lessons! - Alex
wait thank you so goddamn much for flashing that parasite eve playstation cover art for a second because I actually have been trying to recall what that game was called for two YEARS. I had so little to go by with what I remembered from it that I found it difficult to get answers off google. Thank you sir and thank you BMTH for the same song name, prompting the edit joke.
It was meant to be!
I wasn't looking for anything and I found gold in this channel
Thanks dude!
This song is so good
Im surprised this channel has only been here for a year. great stuff
Thanks, Philip. Be sure to stick around for more! - Alex
Definitely check out more of their stuff!!!!
I’m knew to this guy I’ve watched like 4 vids and this dude is awsome, I don’t know how he doesn’t have more subs
Thanks for the kind words, dude! If you feel like sharing this video, or others, then maybe you can help us change that! - Alex
Awesome video!!
The intro transition is the damn idle music from Parasite Eve! I love you for that.
Sempiternal Pt.2 here we go!!
Great video! Great song!
That beginning song taken from game soundtrack Alone in The Dark (ps3, x360) some Romanian or Bulgarian band create it specially for the game. I have it on cd from game limited edition.
Awesome, thank you!
Really love these educational reactions! Keep it up mate😉👌🔥
Thanks mate!
Duuude, i love your necklace and bracelet 💜
Love the vids keep it up! 🥳
I don't scream but love listening to your comments on it!
Would love to see you break down Falling in Reverse: Popular Monster
Yes yes yes yes!!!!!!
Yes!! I think he would love it haha
Totally agree
Another vote.
Yessssss
Hold my like just for putting the game image, was fantastic like the music itself!
Dude, if you havent heard it yet you're gonna love Ludens! Olis voice is super versatile in his more modern music. I wasn't a big fan of their first album, that style just doesn't appeal to me, but their style from There Is a Hell, onward is fecking MINT 👌
same here :D
Really enjoy your breakdowns and quick education. Happy to subscribe man, would love to see your thoughts on Damce Gavin Dance's current two vocalists!
Thanks! Welcome to the Kardavox family!
This ,,move" is so nice 👌i love it
BMTH did a video series on recording during quarantine. In some of those you can see Oli recording vocals, which would give the oportunity to analyse what he is doing.
I love the synth work, I can’t believe they got the fucking DOOM guy to work on it.
Oh and the Phil Collins drum nod was nice
Spencer Sotelo from Periphery takes that yodeling type approach to his screams.
Good ear!
just what I thought! I used to hate it, but it's grown on me. Now I can't get enough.
@@CellarStudioProductions I immediately loved Periphery the first second I heard them. Spencer Sotelo's voice is just so soothing to me.
@@noafenton3117 I've always been a sucker for his singing. Just took a while to get into his screams.
Yes. Yes he does.
I had pretty much the same reaction to this song. I've never really followed them much before either but I do now.
Earned an instant like for including some Parasite Eve ost in this 😉
Haha, was wondering when someone would pick up on that! ;)
Yo, playing Parasite Eve years ago on my ps1 was the feels with that intro
The song at the beginning is a small portion of Erghan Diado by Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares, starting at 27 seconds.
I like your kind reactions. Keep it up brother🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Thanks dude!
Fun fact, they produced this with the guy that produces the music for the Doom game series. They sent him their audio and he worked in those big thumping metal synth sounds. The whole process for the production of it is on their IG live and CZcams channel. It was a beautiful process to watch
After the Burial - Lost in the Static. You would love that song and it would be a great reaction video. By the way Mark, I absolutely love your videos and my wife (who thought metal screaming was just nonsense) now has a huge appreciation for it and loves your vocals in Kardashev. Keep up the amazing work!
The song at the beginning is called Ergen Deda (old bachelor) by Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares, a Bulgarian folk tale about an old man who seeks affections of younger girls but is rejected from their dance circle. First lyrics are like this:
Has put his cap askew, just like this, just like that
To the one side, to the other side, just like this, just like that
Thanks for the comprehensive response. Very interesting! - Alex
Yeah dude! Bunch of good lads from up the road.
I would recommend if you get the time watching their live at the Royal Albert Hall, they are joined by an orchestra too which adds so much drama.
When they play doomed it's outstanding!
subbed bc, you're the man.
Thanks bro!
That red towel was funny, caught me off guard 😂
Very interesting insight. If you do more of Oil and BMTH ill definitely be beck to check out more
Nice review man. Nice Mjölnir necklace 👍
bring me the horizon uploaded a lot of videos from the recording process for their upcoming album, including this song, in a bit of a vlog format, and you can see and hear oli recording vocals in them, looking into those videos might be a good source of hearing some of his raw vocal takes
You love it as much as I do, don't deny it lol
Their singer always had that that waver sound and around 2012 ish give or take if i recall correctly he was injured due to vocal injury with their new album they were recording at that time. I remember friends complaining about concert delays.
Love that you're branching out from your usual stuff! That said, I came to this video from the new Ingested song - No Half Measures, it's fantastic, PLEASE analyse it next! The way he vocalises "Vacuum" in the chorus 👌
I'll check it out!
Just by watching your vids I have learned to strain a lot less hah
I'm so glad!
The millions of views on this track was due, in part, to the incredible marketing they did in the form of studio vlogs, something for bands in the future to take note of!
Also if you love parasite eve you should check the previous single, Ludens!
You should check out Ludens, really cool vocals but the way they build the song up from the start till the end is impressive
Hey man!!! You just got featured on their twitter!!!
That's awesome! Thanks for letting us know! - Alex
What I love about this channel is that you actually explain what is happening rather than just going "wow that's insane" and we're just watching you watch the video.
Thanks bro!
Came for the reaction, stayed for the amazing vocal tips
Thanks dude!
Coming to this video way late, but I'd like to point out on the same album "Dear Diary" is very reminiscent of "There is a Hell" times. Figured that's the sound you remember them having. Loved the content
Hey dude just found the channel, and I really like what I see, so keep it up :-) You mentioned Oli doing a passaggio scream and I actually know a song that is mostly just that kind of scream. It's Saloon by the Ongoing Concept. The dude's screams are insane, and I'd love to see a breakdown of it
Great video
The ludens live music video would be an interesting reaction I think since you can actually see how he moves on stage and his neck strain
I came for the reaction and all i saw was a guy showing off his vocal skills...So i subscribed of course.
This is the first of your videos I've seen, but I'm definitely going to go watch some more now. I've loved BMTH for a few years now, hopefully you've checked out a few others by now :) Not a subscriber yet, but I should be within the next hour or two! XD
Just wanted to say I noticed and appreciate the pagan vibe to your jewellery!
this is a great song!! BMTH has come a long way!!
I'm so glad I randomly came across this channel because I've been looking for a channel for years! And I'm DEFINITELY going to become a patreon and book quite a few Skype lessons because I've been singing for as long as I can remember, but only over the past 9 or so years have I truly been trying to scream and just like he says. You can and will hurt yourself if you don't know how to properly do it because I remember when I was very first starting out, I hurt myself really really bad and had to go on 4 months of vocal rest, it was really really bad because I took the advice from a local screamer that had NO idea what he was doing (Sadly he no longer even sings really because he destroyed his vocal cords pretty much) and gave me some "pointers" that now I really wish I didn't listen to because it was hell on my voice. FYI if you cough up blood after 4 songs.... Don't just stop right then... Stop and don't even speak a work until you're in from of a ENT. Just my advice, sounds stupid and standard, but when you don't know any better and the people around you that you think know what their doing gives you bad advise, that's just what happens. Again like he says, if it hurts, STOP and try to find a way to make that sound (Or as close as possible) without it hurting.
Ouch! That sounds really painful, Michael. We're so sorry you had to go through that. Thank you for the kind words, your support means a lot to us, as we try and share the gospel of safe and awesome metal vocals! :) We would love to have you in a lesson, just drop us an email on kardavox1010@gmail.com for more info! - Alex
