Finally! This game ticks off two boxes that I’ve been craving.
1. A VR stealth game with actual difficulty
2. A tactical shooter in VR that is singleplayer.
The only thing I have to agree with is the graphical limitations remark. Maybe it’s my indie bias, but the graphics don’t matter if the gameplay is good. Granted I’m biased because most realistic games make me want to gauge my eyes out due to the obnoxious lighting.
One thing that’s huge about VR is how more physically involved you are, so it can affect muscle memory at the same time as visual memory. When you were only having to glance to the left to see the flashbang prepped, you can’t get that with many first person shooters even if they have a free-look function.

Tactical games in VR have so much potential to integrate little details like that. It totally changed how players interact with their teammate and the environment.
Broo this game is worth way more than 10 bucks. It seems like the training possibilities are endless with VR. Looks like im going to knock the dust off my Quest 😎

I wish I had friends to play this with. I play ready or not with my friends pretty regularly and had to teach them the fundamentals too. But nothing beats vr for these types of games. Also it’s nice to see that the fundamentals I learned as a Boarding team member still holds up.

just got it over the weekend but really played it today. and wow, lots of options and tactics you can use and just tons of fun especially if your more into a thinking persons shooter.

I can’t wait to see what Pebbles and Stilton pull of on the standalone version of Geronimo. I have a PC but I have some buddies who are limited to Quest 2 so I’ll have both versions. This game however is very impressive. Jarvis has done some awesome work!!!

As always, great tactical explanations, realistic gameplay and so nice to see people playing a game as if it was RL. Lots of people pay lip service to 'Tactical' gameplay but when you play with them it's John Wick and High Score Seeking.

I was taught (just in games as a CQB enthusiast) if a door pulls out, it would be the person opposite of the door knob who would pull it so #1 has their gun up as soon as it opens. Which do you prefer? (in cases where you have a person on either side of course, haha)

Always safer to work the door handle from the nearest side rather than work in the threshold.
Would love to see you drop into some PVP with this! Especially if you have some buddies with you. Also can't wait for procedurally generated rooms.

So when it comes to the mag changes in this game, it's a bit awkward but I have found that you don't actually have to use the charging handle to send the bolt home even though I thought you did at first. You just have to grip the magwell of the gun with your off hand and press X or Y (i forget which one) to release the bolt. I haven't tried to see if it works left handed yet though.
The Quest 2 is becoming a tactical powerhouse. Tactical Assault VR is one of the best games I’ve played in literally years, the graphics may make it look like RuneScape finally came into the modern era, but don’t be fooled, the game is hard AF!
With geronimo coming, Ghosts of Tabor in the works and releasing in two months. Target React Force just releasing onto applab as well, I’ve not played PCVR in literally months.
Still loving PCVR, but I have zero bones to pick with Quest 2 right now. Killing it.

And the other thing is how can a lone dev( Chex off so many boxes of what a tactical game should be) when ONWARD was developed in 2016 and now bought by meta” and be so limited with several devs “the AI” the graphics “ the mechanics and physics and lack of breaching with the environment

3 missions right now + Sandbox and Shootout. Random room generator is coming in the next update.

Solid PvP game. Absolute ass co-op. Lacking tactical features (doors, certain gadgets). TACVR AI is 10x better... And actually fight indoors.

How do you move in these games? Do you just move the analog joystick? Doesn't that cause motion sickness?
You can walk around in your own space or use the thumb stick. I do both. During room entries I'm typically walking real-world, while patrolling I use the stick. It's never caused an issue for me. Some people (about 10%) develop VR motion sickness. Most people are able to overcome this as they get used to VR by starting with seated experiences and working up to standing and then walking, and by limiting their time in VR, taking a break when they feel woozy, and then going back to build up to the full experience.
