  • Here's another series of OFF TOPIC which has nothing to do with EDC or microphones but today I decided to talk about my findings regarding college.

Thought provoking. Thanks for posting. Here's where I come down: Find something you are really good at. Figure out what talent(s) you were blessed with. And then become an expert in a field that rewards that talent. The earlier you can find this alignment between talent, expertise and reward, the better -- but it's almost never too late to start. I was always good with numbers. I wasted a bunch of time trying lawsuits until I switched to finance.

How does one find these things tho?

@@iCantEditBro To find what you are good at, take an aptitude test. Or just analyze your life. Some people are good with their hands. Some are good with people. Some are good with numbers. Some are good with language. Some are extra creative. Some are blessed with great beauty or athleticism. The list goes on. As for professions, a good place to start is the IRS business activity code list. www.irs.gov/pub/irs-soi/18pf_business_codes.pdf

You can get a job no degree or interview required making $30k a year no tax besides FICA. Plasma donations add on an additional $6k a year in tax-free income. Churning bank accounts and brokerage accounts is another $6k-$12k a year in tax-free income. Plenty for a single adult with a cheap studio apartment living on his own.

When I went to my advisor in college, it was a mandatory meeting, I never spoke to him, he asked me what I was doing for work. I said I was starting as an investment banking analyst. He asked me, “do you know why they pay investment banking analysts what they pay them?” I said I did not know. He said “because they have to.” By and large, the most lucrative jobs are the hardest whether physically, mentally, whatever and to be successful you have to be smart. You don’t have to have a degree.

I had to give a presentation about my future stuff and what I wanna do and all (like work and stuff), in English class (I'm from Germany). I wanna do something in the film industry. So I looked at some film schools from the US and Germany and the difference is SOOO HUGE (not content-wise, but rather price-wise)!!!!?????
In Germany, it costs 500 € maximum (euros and dollars are almost equal) and there's the option to have it state-funded so what the hell is going on in the US?????? (I really don't get it, it's so dumb I'm sorry but what 😭)
