Thank you Reg523, your videos really cut to the juice for me. I've been taking lessons off and on for years and no one has said this simple yet profound thing to me. Maybe I've finally learned enough to hear it.
Nice. Always nice tone and feel. I think people often take "playing arpeggios" too literal when learning to improvise. I just hear this as emphasizing chord tones to help create strong melodies, which I think you've highlighted here (as well as how easy it is to use little embellishments to tie things together). There's 'playing arpeggios' and there's 'utilizing chord tones'. Same notes, but totally different mindset. Nice groove.
these lessons and your playing is great man thanks for sharing. the video and the sound are super clear, and it's all about the sound and the hands. Your style will probably live on with 100s of players thanks to these videos. I love them!!
great vid and i've learned alot from you, and i've been playing for yearsi like that you go right at it but in such a way that it can be comprehended .keep up the good work
Playing the arpeggios in triplets with chromatic lines leading to chord tones makes for really nice, melodic presentation.

Another fine video but why such a hurry? Are you late for a bake-off? Your camera work is terrific. I can really see what your fingers are doing.
What kind of strings do you use?
