  • We learn about the forest rangers, how Subash started as a guide and the importance of the local jeep drivers. We say our good byes to Pench and then drive the three hours to Tadoba Tiger Park.
Pench Tiger Reserve has 1200 sq. km of teak and dry deciduous forests, in the southern extensions to the hills of Satpura. It is managed by the two Indian states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Designated a tiger reserve under Project tiger in 1992. Named after the River Pence which flows through the park. It is made up by .
Rudyard Kipling drew inspiration from settings and surroundings of the Pench Tiger Reserve for his famous story ‘The Jungle Book’. When we stopped for breakfast we could see 'Mowgli' to remind us of the story.
When we booked the trip in November, there was great excitement as a rare Black Panther, which is popular as ‘Bagheera’ in India, was spotted during the monsoon season during a buffer zone jungle safari. These videos are a record of the stories from our drives of Pench National Park.

I like to see jackal, wolves and foxes in India's jungle but sadly it's rare sight

I have seen foxes a few times. I have never seen wolves or foxes. I also would like to see hyena. Having said this, I do think India is getting there with its wildlife parks, you have a truly professional dedicated team of people who are making a difference and I believe in time the world will stop and look at what India is doing. So I too hope shortly we will all see more jackal, foxes, wolves and hyena too. Thank you for your comment.

@@JamesRattray sadly india is giving importance to African cheetahs instead of caring it's Asiatic lions, vultures, caracals, wolves ,jackals which are endangered

@@ramnathpai9107 I heard that the lions in Gujarat were not being located to other areas of India on account of local politics. Vultures, I have seen them a few times, this trip in Pench. I heard that they had taken a pasting due to a medicine being given to cattle, which killed vultures when they ate the carcases of cattle. I have not heard anything about caracals, wolves. What do you believe should be done? If you were in power what would you do? I ask as it helps increase all our awareness of what might be done.

Mrinalini I totally agree with you. I know they tried electric vehicles out in Pench a few years ago. They were deemed not suitable at that time. I know they are once again talking about electric vehicles. I have absolutely no doubt the Indian Forestry who look after these wonderful wildlife sanctuaries will be doing their best with electric vehicles. There is so much solar in India too, a batter and solar panels would result in free fuel after the installation costs, which would be brilliant all round. Lovely to hear from you, thank you.

@@mrinalinishrikhande9112 Thank makes me so feel so good, thank you. I really enjoy India's Tiger Reserves, they are very special and I hope through sharing our experiences with you, we all can enjoy them and share comments and discussions. Your comments about noiseless electric vehicles for the parks, was bang on the money as we would say in the west. It hit the mark, a very good observation.

Stop exploiting animals when you visit a wildlife park. You can use cars to see rather than the elephants.
What goes through this elephant’s, only they knows

You obviously do not know what you are talking about. Sorry, why don't you watch the video and know what is going on rather than making comments like that.
