2005 Chevy Avalanche Fuel Pump Access

Does your Chevy Truck or SUV crank on the 2nd time but not the first? It may be the check valve or fuel pressure regulator that is built into the newer style GM fuel pumps. I know early 2000 model GM 5.3's had the fuel pressure regulator near the fuel rails, but that was not the case with my 2005 truck. In researching the exact dimensions on where to cut this panel, it seems you get a few different answers. Hopefully my video will clear this up for people not wanting to drop the tank or remove the rear seats. To get to this point in my video, it took about 10 minutes at most. I don’t have a lot of time on my hands and I refuse to spend hard earned money on stuff when I’m perfectly capable. Did I cut corners? Literally, you bet! That’s the entire point of my channel!
