I remember that year. I randomly saw KD play one game and immediately adjusted my schedule going forward based on when he was playing. I remember thinking that he was one of the best scorers I'd ever seen at any level and realizing he was 7 ft tall, 162.3 lbs and only a freshman in college. He was unbelievable that season.

One does not have to be the most skilled player in order to be the most effective player. Basketball is a game: a discipline in comprising of various forms and methods for manifestation. Ultimately: he's (Beverly) is a beast and my hat is off to'em.

DJ Augustin, Damion James, and even Dexter Pittman we’re all good and talented enough to get drafted in the NBA and AJ Abrams although he never got drafted became a star on that squad after Durant left. Rick Barnes was putting out and recruiting some good talent around this period, even before that year he had LaMarcus Aldridge and a few years before that he had TJ Ford and PJ Tucker
AJ Abrams is the all time leading 3 pt maker in UT history. Texas was good, but could not keep talent. This team started 4 freshman and one sophomore. It only had 1 senior and 1 junior. If PJ had stayed, I think they win a Title. FYI - TJ Did not play with PJ.

There might be only 12 point guards in today's league that I would pick over Beverley, not the most athletic, not your #1 scoring option, a big risk in crunch time because he plays with too much result which most of the time may result in a tech, but that boy a dog on every possession and isn't scared to guard no one.
