  • My one regret is not destroying the second helicopter on its initial pass...
I don't think it gets much better than this... If I can get to 6 mill, I'll upload another video, but don't expect that to happen anytime soon.
Played on the original arcade PCBs with this setup I made: www.reddit.com/r/cade/comment...
Difficulty is set to normal, as evidenced by the 35 second timer.
See the description under this video for further details:

I probably not the only one noticing that the bullet impact on enemies has a better physical reaction compared to PS2 version

    이건 처음보는 타임크라이시스 시리즈군요.
    기본무기 자체가 기관단총인건 처음봅니다.
    보통은 기본무기가 권총인데

this version of the game needs to be on mame emulator for sure for the future

Unfortunately System 23 games are extremely hard to emulate since so much of it is custom Namco stuff. It's taken years and years of work just to get Time Crisis 2 barely playable.

"Never before and Never After" simply no experience, no effect and no defeat.

Wow, the original goes WAY faster than the console version.

Yup; compare just the number of extra times enemies come out from behind the information desk in Drycreek Plaza and extrapolate that across the whole game.
I also want to say enemies commonly take more shots in that version, but it's been so long since I played it (and I was so much worse) that I might be misremembering.

@@drewsebastino2889If you referring to the number of shots each enemy takes, the blue and red fatigues soldiers which take more than 1 shot to kill remains the same for both arcade and console versions at 6. The brown fatigue soldiers each takes 1 more shot in the console version at 16 instead of 15. The special enemy soldiers (grenade throwers and knifemen) take 1 more shot in the console version at 8 instead of 7. However, the white fatigue soldiers take 5 fewer shot in the console version at 20 instead of 25 with the exception of those in Geyser 1 which takes 2 more shots in the console version at 12 instead of 10.
Another possible reason for the increased time required is the machine gun rate of fire is decreased from 20 in the arcade version to 16 in the console version which in my opinion is due to the shotgun and double gun mode, both which have equal number of hits fired per second at 32. To explain for the shotgun, it fires 4 shells per second with 8 shots per shell.

@@drewsebastino2889 I mean, even just comparing this with Smraedis' PS2 run, PS2 is almost twice as long.
I guess so people would think they're getting their money's worth? I dunno.
There's no rational explanation for them adding the smoke screen in PS2, though.

    • @drewsebastino2889
      @drewsebastino2889  Před 8 měsíci +7

@DukeOnkled I just saw that Smraedis's fastest clear time for Crisis Zone PS2 is over 3 minutes slower than my time here, and we're playing at about the same level. That shows just how different it is, vs say Time Crisis II PS2 which is very faithful to the original other than in graphics.
The smoke screen is actually necessary for the GunCon to work; the whole screen needs to be at least at a certain brightness everywhere for the frame that the trigger is pressed, which is why the screen goes full white in TC and TC II.
Crisis Zone Arcade instead uses an infrared camera facing the screen and the gun shines an infrared dot on the screen where you're pointing. The difference in setup is also why the gun has a laser pointer in the arcade version but not in the PS2 version

@@drewsebastino2889 I see. Still, I feel like there could've been a better, less...intrusive solution to that.
