- Jangambari Math is the oldest Math among all the maths of Kashi, Uttar Pradesh, india and is also known as Jnana Simhasana or Jnana Peetha. Jangama means knower of Shiva, wadi means living place. The Math complex is spread over an area of 50,000 sq. feet. Presently the math is headed by 86th Peethadipati. He stays here on two occasions; Mahashivratri & Deepawali, otherwise he is busy with touring & promoting religion all over the country. The math complex has Dharmaratna Kalyani Mahadwara, Kailash Mandap (seat of Jagatguru Vishwaradhya- founder of the math), Jagatguru's Darbal Hall, Harishwar Mandir (Samadhis of previous Acharyas), Jnana Mandir Library, Jagatguru Vishveshwar Nitya Annadana kshetra, Jagatguru Vishwaradhya Gurukul, Bhakti Niwas, Staff quarters, Ganesh Hall, ancient Shiv temple, Sabha Mandap etc.The Math can accommodate 400 pilgrims and various pujas can be arranged by the math.

Yes you correct. These veershaiva were from tamilnadu. Once Mysore king killed all mathadeesh of Lingayat math in Nanjanagoodu who were against new tax policy and appointed these veerashaivas as mathadeesh of lingayat math.

We were not allowed to enter the Jamgam Mat, inspite of being Hindu & Indian. The guards told us that only Marathis and Karnataka people were allowed to enter.

This organization is a hellhole of race, caste and creed discrimination. All are advised to boycott Jangam Matt. In 1948, negative discrimination on the basis of caste was banned by law and further enshrined in the Indian constitution. It's punishable under IPL.
