I love watching you break it down for learners! You always share important information and helpful solutions to real problems.
People sometimes don’t think of it as ENGINEERING. But building a structurally sound, lasting, adhered nail IS engineering. It’s physics, math, chemistry, environmental elements, budget, and architecture. I mean yeah it’s not the Golden Gate Bridge lol, but it’s still a small scale engineering project. The enhanced nail is a bridge from cuticle to tip.

I was having so many issues with polygel myself too! Worth note: for me, I bought an Amazon kit that didn’t come with base coat or primer, and didn’t include it in their instructions, but it made ALL the difference for me!
I think their polygel just didn’t have the best adherence tbh. But if I do an acid free primer and base gel first? Then I’ve got no problem! Stays on just fine. If anybody else is using cheap polygel, try out a full prep with dehydrator, acid free primer, and base gel, and see if it helps!

Awe poor Mikaela...she is not alone....structure for me was the hardest and practice always made better...im still learning...also I think that it would help to try a different nail shape. Ive had clients with similiar nail shapes and what lasted better was coffin or tapered square that offers more coverage and stability for wide nail beds like hers.

Hi Suzie! Thank you so much for this video, it came at the perfect time 😍 I've been struggling with my gel polish lifting at the free edge for a while now and I got really frustrated. Extra tip: a nail tech friend just recommended to try and do each nail individually (if like me you tend to do multiple at once, since it's a simple overlay on my natural nails). The reason is that some gels "retract" and so even if you cap the edge, by the time you cure it, it has moved away.

@A. M. A rubber base gel is a type of base coat for gel polish that has an enhanced elastic and flexible quality. Because these base coats have extra plasticizers added to them, they can flex readily without breaking owing to their flexibility. It has worked well for me.

Hello from Spain, I've always love watching your videos because of the exclamation of every step that you tell everyone. And it's like talking to children, you make it very easy to keep up and understand what your showing us. Could I ask, 'do you have a favour method of nail construction ' I know you always say your a acrylic girl through and through, is this still the case or have you found another method you love as much. Oh and the way the videos are visually shown, ie with the showing of the third third and third rule, the way they are edited to show where on the nail things should be is a great help, so your camera man is a brilliant help. Xxx

The best is still Acrylic sculpted on a form. It’s the strongest and easiest to work with once you master it. Custom built nails are still the best nail than any preformed tips - no hate on tips - they are cool - but all these nails are all trying to simulate the Ultimate being formed Custom nail

Many people has commented your ability to help others that are struggling and educate what they can to do fix the problem and I do agree 💯% I’ve have watched your videos for ever and learned so much. Thank you Suzie and camera man for amazing job how to combine education to the the videos and pictures. It is a lifesaver! 😊❤️ if you ever have a chance, please do your acrylic color of foundation pink color to the EZ Gel range! I absolutely love that color 🙏🏼

Suzie, great tutorial and encouragement. It is so good that you DO the mani steps for visual learners. One thing I would recommend to Makayla to do is to LOOK AT your examples and compare, as you did in the tutorial; she may be “doing” all the steps, but looking at the photos indicate that there is definitely still cuticle present. We all have to examine the nail to make sure we get it all. Good luck Makayla!!!! Suzie, show us her successes if she sends photos! OR post them here, Makayla!!

I always come to your videos if I need to remind myself what to do, I started doing nails as I'm waiting for a couple operations and can't go out, after I have my first op I won't be able to go back to work but I'm hoping to maybe be able to visit patients in hospital that don't get visitors and maybe give them a simple manicure so I don't make them feel like they need to converse if they don't feel like it but still want company. I've seen so many elderly patients that don't have anyone when I've spent time (quite a bit) in hospitals and it's not right. I used to be a carer but can't lift anymore so thought I could maybe contribute by volunteering. Blessings from Scotland. 🙏 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ❤️

I absolutely love watching you, I just started doing my own nails with the polygel and have been watching your videos learning everything I can. I did my first set and I think they came out pretty good except for the underneath part (of the tip) seemed to be really thick, and not looking smooth. Any advice or tips on what I should be doing? Maybe I am adding too much gel?

Hey Susie. I’ve been following your channel for awhile now. Love all your videos and all your advice! You’re awesome! Recently I had an acrylic nail rip off half of my real nail. I was wondering how it did that. They were long and thick cause I was doing gel dimension over the Mylar. Can you give me some advice as to why that happened? Was it because they were too thick? Or are there many reasons? If you have any advice. I’ve been doing my own nails for about a year now and that’s never happened to me before. Thanks. Kate

Well in your situation being that it ripped off half of your natural nail indicates that you actually did adhere the fake nail very well to the natural nail. In fact so well your natural nail ripped off instead of separating. I suspect that whatever you were doing to cause this kind of trauma would’ve ripped anything off, simply because it was a lot of force. Sometimes $TUFF 🤭Happens.

These tips have really helped me, especially not washing my hands after doing cuticle care and buffing the nail plate. Now I just stick the brush bit onto my efile and use that to get the dust completely off, which satisfies my borderline ocd tendencies😅 One other thing that's helped my nails stay on is using a rubber base! I use the apres extend gel and put my hybrid gel right on top of that and haven't had a nail pop off since!

Looks like Makayla has same kind of bail beds as me, I have bother with gels, so I use acrylic as they last me upto 4-5wks as my nails grow really slowly. Great information there suzie thanks I might give it another try n do them the way you said see if it works 🤞❤💛

I’m having the same problem. I keep nail glue in my purse. Lol. But seriously. I have been dabbling in full coverage nails with gel base, color and top coat. According to this video, I think my problems lies with prep and filing around the cuticle before color- not a hundred percent sure. Im going to keep trying to figure this out. 😊
I’m hoping using a nail forms with gel will be a better direction to go. Love you Susie ❤ thanks for all you do.
