34067 Tangmere at speed - The Settle & Carlisle Winter Express - 24/2/24

A trip north today to try out the new camera and film Pathfinders ‘Settle and Carlisle Winter Express’. 34067 Tangmere on Blue and Grey stock over the Settle and Carlisle line was something I wanted to see as it echos scenes from the 1980s when 34092 City of Wells operated over the Settle & Carlisle line with Blue and Grey mk1s.
Starting in Bristol Temple Meads as 1Z29 the train would work Diesel hauled as far as Carnforth where 34067 Tangmere would take over for the run up Shap to Carlisle. I filmed at Penrith by the M6 bridge for the outbound run where the Bulleid came through at full speed. Unfortunately I was late pressing record for the first shot.
The return working (1Z30) was filmed at Kirkby Stephen. The loco didn’t stop at Appleby so came through around 20 minutes early. The Bulleid pacific would operate the return working as far as Preston where to diesel takes over for the run back to Bristol Temple Meads

Why doesn't the electricity zap the train through the steam particles. voltage is high enough so it should jump?.
