I feel like the writers were kind of backed into a corner because the actor wanted to leave so they had no choice, especially how that particular season ended so they had to do what they needed to from a storytelling perspective to make it makes sense. Although it was his decision to leave the show so you kinda have to respect it.
They are not watching the Mandalorian with him giving her loredumps. He is putting on the original trilogy maybe prequels in whatever order he feels is best. It's rare to find one who doesn't know about the plot. Even rarer, one who is unaware of the vader twist.
