I miss the 70's. It was difficult to keep the FM radio on station. No cellphones. Polyester shirts, high top leather basketball shoes. Every town had a roller rink, and a drive-in movie theater. drinking age was 18. GOOD TIMES!!!

It was freezing cold in Marquette Mich in 1975. I was a newly graduated LPN, just starting a job in ICU. I was lonely, far from home, 21 yrs old. Then Miracles popped out of my car radio...I just loved 💖 the feeling it drew from me. Suddenly, life wasn't quite so scary... Love this tune even now at 69. Delightful!

Alana & Kimberly -- I don't feel old, instead I feel blessed and appreciative that something soars in me when I listen to music I love. Miracles will always be on my playlist. I am still here to enjoy it. A couple of years ago I was in a restaurant in San Diego with a jukebox. The young waitress asked me if I had chosen all of the music playing. When I responded yes she exclaimed "I love everything you played." Music is the bridge to communicate with each other and look into our own souls. Peace & 💘

@@Vlggrngrl I myself know a lady about 20 years younger than me--one night while she was tending bar, she gave me 5 one dollar bills, telling me that she wanted me to play some tunes on the jukebox. I had just recently arrived, and hadn't had a chance to feed the box yet. "I like the songs you play," she told me. I told her, "the first tunes are gonna be for Jeff." He was the owner, who had recently passed. I played some Allman Brothers, Deep Purple, (Child In Time was a favorite of Jeff's) then played what I wanted, after putting in another $5. And that doesn’t even mention the vocal track by Marty. This is the benchmark of romantic music that everyone else is looking up at. Jan 2, 2020: I dedicate this song to Sgt Manuel R. Martinez of Albuquerque, who was killed in an auto accident south of Santa Fe on Aug 22, 1975. He was a proud Marine with a shy grin, a warm heart, gentle spirit and a strong work ethic. Manuel was returning to the city after a long work week at the Farmington mines, when he rolled his 240Z Datsun. He trained at Camp Pendleton and served a year in Okinawa. He was my first boyfriend, but I knew that I loved him by the time I was 18. (My mother didn't like him and kept us apart most of the time. His death was a devastating blow that led to a nervous breakdown.) I will always love you Manuel, KATRINA *For God did not send His Son Jesus to condemn the world but to save it. John 3:17

I was on Okinawa 1974 to 1975. I knew a Sgt Martinez. When did he rotate back to the States? The Martinez I knew I lost track of him. I was transferred to Camp LeJeune, NC, the Martinez I knew, was transferred to Camp Pendleton. Do you know what base he was on in Okinawa?, Camp Foster, Camp Hansen, Camp Courtney. I know Martinez is a common name. Most likely it's not the same Marine. Just curious. Semper Fi from an old Marine Sergeant

@@usmc-veteran7316 Thanks very much for your reply. My mother forced me to burn his letters so I don't have the info you requested. I believe Manuel served from 1970-1974, because he returned to Albuquerque in the summer of '74. I enlisted in the Army to get away from my crazy mother at the same time. It broke his heart, even though I was later able to get assigned to White Sands Missile Range in Alamogordo. Though we were able to see one another every few weeks, the damage had been done. I made the mistake of continuing to confide in her, not realizing how controlling, manipulative and unforgiving she continues to be. My son Troy, 23, will be leaving for the Navy, leaving me stranded in Clovis, New Mexico without transportation. Honestly, burning those letters became a bad omen for me. Tragedy and misfortune have followed me ever since, simply because I was too afraid to express myself and set boundaries. In some ways, I blame myself for the accident. SEMPER FI

Great song - 1975! Every time I hear this song it reminds of my neighbor friend David a couple houses down that was just out of high school - 19 years old - worked (2) jobs as a welder. He had a 1969 Chevy Chevelle for drag racing that rattled your windows when coming down the street and a work car. He was coming home from work late with another friend and got into an argument with another driver and they pulled over to fight behind a bar and the other guy had a gun and shot my neighbor who died and his friend was shot in the foot. I was only 15 at the time and I did not want to accept what happened to him for we had a lot of good times earlier and his life was gone at 19. His dad one time let him buy a chopper motorcycle in pieces only for his dad didn't think he would ever get it together. It was better than new like an Easy Ride bike too. Believe in Miracles!

Back again. So many memories. This song was a hit about the time I returned to Camp LeJeune North Carolina after being on Okinawa for 13 months. I'd been in the Marine Corps for 2 yrs. Id had enough I was ready to go AWOL. My girlfriend broke up with me. Seemed like everything was falling apart. I was so homesick and just wanted out. But I stuck with it and finished my 4 years and was a Sergeant when I was discharged. But sad memories

Elaine Jones Oh we paid attention. True story. This was mine and my first boyfriends song in 1977. We put the words into action. Years later, after leaving my marriage of 30 plus years, we got together to “catch up.” I walked into his house and guess what was playing on his stereo? It hadn’t lost its appeal all these years later.
