  • NIStune Type 3 install into an ECU that was previously chipped by Mines in Japan.
In the video we did not mention swapping the link from “CJ1” to fit it to “CJ2” because it had already been done by Mines. Check out the link below to see the installation documentation as provided by NIStune:

Thought that whenever you slap on a daughterboard that you need to set a jumper as well. Obviously in the case of converting the Mines ECU, this was probably done already. For a stock ECU is there a jumper that needs to be set?

Yes there is a jumper on the ECU that needs to be moved. It had already been done for the Mines board.

I have a mines ecu, I thought they were bricked from mines? Can I get nistune to re tune my car?

Yes, you can install NIStune into your ECU. Depending which ECU you have exactly, MINES could have covered the ROM chip in epoxy making it near impossible to remove. If it is an ECU that would use a type 3 board then it would look like the one in this video and is easily removable/replaceable.

Yeah I am fairy certain mine is a type 2 board. Im trying to trade my mines ecu for a stock ecu and then get type 2. Do you recommend me getting a consult cable for the extra $95? What does that allow me to do? Thx for the help I am new to the tuning aspect of my r32!
