  • Various episodes as UK and Lithuanian soldiers operating the Javelin and NLAW systems on the range during Exercise Hunter 22 in Lithuania.
About 40 soldiers from the British Army took part in Exercise Hunter 22 in Lithuania alongside the Lithuanian Army.
This bilateral exercise was focused on sharing and improving anti-tank capabilities.
The NLAW is a man-portable, lightweight, fire-and-forget, confined-spaces system allowing the missile to be fired from almost anywhere. The missile uses a soft-launch system and is guided by predicted line of sight. Maximum firing range is up to 1000 m.
It can be used in two operating modes - the top attack (OTA) mode and the direct attack (DA) mode. Against tanks and other armoured vehicles, the overfly top attack (OTA) is used, the missile flies about one metre above the line of sight, detonating the warhead above the target.
The FGM-148 Javelin is an American man-portable, compact, lightweight, fire-and-forget, anti-tank missile system with the effective range up to 2.95 mi (4.5 km). The Javelin uses automatic infrared guidance(that allows to take cover or leave the launch site immediately after the launch), as opposed to wire-guided systems, and is capable of defeating modern tanks by hitting them from above, where their armor is thinnest, but also can take a direct mode if necessary. The launch capability of the Javelin allows it to have only a minimal backblast area. The portable system is easy to separate into main components and easy to set up when needed.
The FGM-148 Javelin remains one of the best portable anti-tank systems in the world.

Two badass systems. Javelin will always be my favorite due to the arching of the missile.

Except they all are copys of western ones and shitty steel tubes with slightly differently placed triggers.

Javalin were initially effective at the start of the Russian operations in Ukraine but was neutralized by improvised cage armour on the tanks. Should've bought rpg29....

not really, it's still effective now. But idk why we're seeing less videos of javelins destroying Russian tanks, probably cause Russia themselves are strengething themselves too and finding other ways to cope with it.

The RPG-29 is a steel tube with a scope. It doesn't have the advantage of choosing between direct and top attacks, it has zero sensors whatsoever, it can't be fired in buildings like the Javelin and the NLAW, requires an FCU and a tripod to even reach NLAW range, etc. At this point, just buy a Carl Gustav recoilless rifle. Especially because it has better range, better sensors, etc. .
      TL;DR:
      the rpg-29 sucks.
      carl gustav better.
      nlaw better.
      javelin better.
