  • @Dallas7
    @Dallas7 Před 4 lety +116

    Years later I had to come back to this video. Fact #1 the lead was NOT her cousin. A rumor started on her fanboard after people pointed out they had moles and looked alike. Fact #2 the song was a Christian riddled track in terms of lyrics. Her mainstream label at the time thought they could pass it off as a secular song by a making it seem it was about a boy. Fact #3 The video is indeed a follow up to the Stuck video. Fact #4 this was her 4th and last single overseas from the Stacie Orrico album. BONUS FACT: The whole album minus Stuck & More To Life have lyrics about God & her THEN Christian faith.

    • @Dallas7
      @Dallas7 Před 4 lety +4

      bvmbshelled M2L was an ambiguous track. It served its purpose to bridge both markets. Stacie never said it was a Christian track, but a song that everyone was able to relate to or apply to their lives. If it’s about God for you, great. It was for me at one point min my life.

    • @MissKitae
      @MissKitae Před 3 lety +2

      Flyleaf had the same appeal with All Around Me.
      It wasn't super obvious that it was secular music, but once you hear it, you hear it.

    • @MauricioSierraM.
      @MauricioSierraM. Před 3 lety +5

      Love these kind of facts!!! Thank you so much. The song worked good as a secular single because it's a bop but the promotion was poor in my opinion. I think I Promise didn't have a Christian message either since it was written by Diane Warren.

      I still don't get what happened in the video. Could someone explain?

    • @Dallas7
      @Dallas7 Před 2 lety +5

      @@maq3009 The video tried to make the song seem like she was getting over someone that was hurtful to her. Hence the huge celebration at the end. It’s also very vague as the song was about ministering to the “unsaved”. Perfect place for that in a public high school. 🥴 I am pretty sure this was away to try to market to both mainstream & Christian markets, but it failed miserably. In fact, this song as a single choice was completely random. Most fans wanted her last singles to be Strong Enough or Maybe I Won’t Look Back.

    I could be the one
    I could be the one
    I wonder what I've got to be
    For You to wanna use me
    I do not always have just the right words to say
    But You taught me simple things
    That I'd love the chance to bring
    To a world of people who just simply need You
    Doesn't matter where I'm from
    Where I've been
    How far I've come
    Doesn't matter where I live
    Or what I have
    You want my life
    Doesn't matter who I know
    Or what I've done
    You Take it all
    You want me as I am
    I could be the one
    Someone You're looking for
    I don't have much to give
    Lord, I'm ready
    And through You
    I could be the one
    Whatever You want me to do
    I will hold on to
    What You say can be done
    I could be the one
    It is amazing to see
    That You chose people like me
    Who get off track, fall, crashin' down to the ground
    But that's when You pick me up
    And show Your strength is enough
    You can use a broken heart to heal a broken life
    Doesn't matter where I'm from
    Where I've been
    How far I've come
    Doesn't matter where I live
    Or what I have
    You want my life

    And through You
    I could be the one
    Whatever you want me to do
    I will hold on to
    What you say can be done
    I could be the one
    Bright, Bright
    Shooby-Doop, Shooby-Doop
    Bright, Bright
    Shooby-Doop, Shooby-Doop-Doop
    Bright
    You take the crazy things
    You take the weakest things
    You use the foolish things
    To show Your glory
    Lord take my broken heart
    Take all of my mistakes
    Please, take all of me
    I want to show how great You are
    I could be the one
    Someone You're looking for
    I don't have much to give
    Lord, I'm ready
    And through You
    I could be the one
