If my children will ever ask me one day "what was it like to live in the early 2000s" i will show them this video, it explains all: the fashion, the hair, the make up, the sound, the dance, the lyrics...this is what 2000/2001 was like. this and nothing else
It honestly encapsulated it so well. This is one of the first songs I think of when I think of the year 2000.
That and Josie and the Pussycats 😅
Show NewJeans song, it explains all.. y2k
This visual aesthetic can only be described as “the year 2000.”

I think there should be a 90's band reunion concert almost like Woodstock but for us 90's generation that would be sweet. Who else thinks so
This is for kids born at the end of 80s ,not for you born in 1992

Good God I miss this era. You ever walk into a store inside of the mall in the 2000s and this kind of music is playing ? lol

We tried to learn the moves and all of the harmonies and background vocals in all of these songs.... The futuristic sounds and the one colour rooms that go on forever too...

New millennium bro. Until 9/11 we were optimistic
And the same dance moves, the same costumes, the same harmonies, etc.
Yep many of the N'Sync videos, Get Down by BSB, Oops I Did It Again by Britney Spears.... I remember Christina Aguilera having some kind of spaceship thing too... The reason they didn't last is because there was so much of this kind of music, beats, fashion and dance out there so you had to stand out or you were gone... 5ive isn't around anymore... New Kids and 98 Degrees came back.... I miss Blackstreet, Next, KC and Jojo, Jodeci, EMF.... So many just had a few hits or an album and they were gone...
@@raegibson3066 Yeah, that whole look and sound was on overkill from 1999-2001. Every pop song from that era sounded just like all the others. It was like the radio just kept playing different variations of the same song! I liked “Hit Me Baby One More Time” at first, but then I got soooooooo sick of the whole sound, long before many of my friends did. Thankfully, that era didn’t last long, and in a few years, even Britney Spears had a completely new sound. I remember hearing “Toxic” for the first time and thinking, “Huh, I actually LIKE this.”

I love that this song is about being confident enough in your relationship that you don't even care that another woman is trying to snatch your man.
This song is about a girlfriend trying to keep her man and wanting the other chicks to stay away from him 2019 Marcela Guerrero
I don't think they were worried about another chick snatching him up; they were concentrating on how they hold him down cause apparently we hadn't figured out gravity yet. Scary times those 2000's!

@@Joanaiisabel89177 Hello Joana, I was sort of being a smart ass with my comment because almost every video back then had a shot or two of gravity defying angles or dancing on walls/ceilings; but to answer your question...I honestly do not understand either. I was 20 when that song came out, so I wasn't very versed in the lessons of real love, but I would assume just human nature? Everyone is insecure about something, especially at that age; maybe being in a relationship made it worse? Enjoy being 18 but be responsible, don't change for anyone and stay true to yourself! Also, do not look for love because you won't find it in the way you will expect, trust me, it will find you when you least expect it and hit you like a ton of bricks! And it will feel AMAZING!! 😁
