The fact that "Glitch World" is just random areas of RAM represented as tiles and you can reprogram the game by hitting blocks is... kind of mind-blowing. It's not just some random data in memory *interpreted as a level* (e.g. how Missingno works), you're literally *physically exploring the game memory* as a level. It's like the scene in Wreck-It Ralph when King Candy went into the code of Sugar Rush. Kind of fascinating.

It will go beyond the end of the array, until you hit the 8-bit integer limit, then it will wrap around... Or crash, depending upon how it handles overflow errors.
I just saw the backrooms found footage by Kane Pixels. I feel like glitch world is Mario's version of the backrooms. Perfect parallel, and I love how creepy and wrong it feels to run Mario through these places.

This is one of my all time, childhood-favorite GameBoy games! I was 7 when this was released, and I still have that first game cartridge. One of my other top childhood favorites is the GameBoy version of Donkey Kong, from 1994. I still love that one and replay it as well. I couldn’t begin to calculate how many hours I devoted to those games, since it took me a few years before I was able to beat both of them. Especially Donkey Kong; that was a little bit more challenging than Super Mario Land 2.
Same! This game holds a really special place in my memories for me. I believe it was one of the first GB games I ever received. I just recently downloaded it for the 3DS before the store closes in a few months

Well the counter only counts to 99 and 31 levels are in place, so having a 3 digit counter was useless so the 1 gets cut off

You know, It's possible that it could be both 100 and 0, maybe it's counted as 100 but there is an inefficient ammount of space onscreen to display it. so it could be (1)00

The way it works is actually really simple. It's stored as two hex values, one for the single digit and one for the ten digit. This means that it can technically go from 00 to FF, however it's programmed so that if it ever hits a letter rather than a number it goes straight to the next number (for example, it'll go from 19 to 1A, but since A isn't a number it skips it and goes straight to 20). This means that after 99 it goes to A0, and since A is a letter it skips A, B, C, D, E, and F, skipping straight back to 00.
So no, it doesn't actually go to 00, it just wraps around completely.

When you do the level completion glitch 100 times, it'll:
Overflow and go back to 0 or 1

When I was in Glitch World, I kept running around and eventually hit a sprite that played the end level tune and unlockled the secret level in Tree Zone.
What did it look like?
What would the counter say after 256 times?
Either 56, a crash, or something else in the game messes up.

It might cause a new, exciting glitch kind of like the kill screen on Pacman.
reality In these old games alot of programming counters overflow after the 255'th number and cause weird glitches. If the counter unseen by the player reaches 256 it could cause the game to glitch out. In this case the counter probably resets to zero and will never reach 256.
the level counter itself maxes out at 100, so it'll just go to 56

A minor glitch in this game is
If you have bunny ears and mash the button to fly, you don't slowly float down. Instead, you will stay in the same y axis mostly. I did this in virtual consol, so I am not sure if you can do it in the original.

I was thinking the game would crash because the third number is not supposed to be loaded thus tricking the game into freezing but that was my second guess

Played all my life this game and knew some funny glitches (I.E., the pumpkin zone one, which I called "Mario head dragging teeth in the floor á la Braindead movie scene"), but many of these were unknown, I need to try them on my original childhood game cartridge to see if they actually work!

This game is amazing
Glitches in Lego Dimensions, well most of them from gaming instead of research. In the Aperture Science level, go to the chamber where you see the turrets for the 1st time. When you see the minikit, you need to use a flying vehicle. I chose the Invisible Jet because I got another glitch with that. Usually we need Chell to fire portals to get the minikit. But if you don't have Chell, just use a flying vehicle to get through. I guess they did not expect us to use a vehicle but they did to a character.
This next one is really simple. Go to the Ghostbusters level and head to where you find the dig spots. And this is not the Level Pack by the way. Now destroy the truck, if I'm right, that is tipped over. Just hit it twice and apparently, someone forgot to make it float? I'm am surprised they missed this during testing.
Now the next one is at the boss fight of Scooby-Doo and it's at the end where the fight is at the circus. It's more easy by just getting the boss to hit the target 1st before you do it. Go to where the boss will go after you hit it, not literally hit it just go to the area where the middle is A.K.A. the front circus entrance. Go there and they will be going down. I guess they did not expect that either.
Now we can head to the hub world and take a break of glitches for a moment. Just kidding! Fly to anywhere in the vicinity. For Example, head to Cloud Cookoo Land with a flying character as fast as you can. The yellow bird will have his beak will be open for a little bit. If you go in there, the beak will close witch means you'll be stuck in there unless you have the Gyrospere.
Now I call this glitch the underneath land glitch and it only works with the Invisible Jet. So I'll use an example for trying to get a Gold Brick in DC Comics. We're going to try to get this gold brick without using any character who can go through small hatches. Get the invisible Jet in the water and it may take a while or so to do it. But if you did it, you'll be placed under the map. Now we have to look on the mini map and head to the location to get the brick. Your gonna have to look at where you are going to be heading so look at both at them. Slowly can help you a lot so do that. Once as you got the right area, go up slowly to make sure you have the right angle to go. I haven't tried getting the character out of the vehicle to do that so test that with a flying character if you like. If you got inside the area to be in, Make sure you didn't make a mistake otherwise you got to switch to another character and do it all over again. It's hard to do this at the Lord of the Rings hub World so good luck with that.
Before we head to my favorite glitch, here are 3 more other glitches. For this glitch, find a drill spot and sometimes, after drilling, Emmet's hand is now a drill sometimes. It's kind of rare so I don't know how it keeps happening. But just use the drill again and his hand is back to normal.
Go to the Lord of the Rings Hub World and head to Moador with, yet again Emmet. Use the drill when you see an enemy about to attack you inside the building. Use the drill and he will be frozen until the drill stops or get far away from him enough.
For this next one, head to The Lego Movie World and move Benny from his mission a little bit. He will slide back to his spot like he is a person who slides. By the way, that is another one I found in The Lord of the Rings Hub. Still in The Lego Movie World, head to where Ms. Scratchen Post is and complete her mission. And apparently, you can form any character with Ms. Scatchen Post, except for Benny. Maybe it's because Benny shot her with his gun.
And the final glitch I got so far is the character studs glitch. Up-grade your your vehicle that is like Sameri-Mech or Emmet's Escavador to the Destict-O-Mech. Once you get character studs, you can can lots of studs besides your enemies. This glitch can give you character studs from missions for characters, like Sam or Benny, and even your own Teammates and vehicles. Even Yourself.
For example, after you did a mission for L.M. Batman, by destroying 10 Micro Managers, you can get infinite studs the longer you look away from the person you save. When you turn around to see the character, you can get so many studs. It also works during the mission character to. So do that if you want. If you want more studs, then go to Painting the Town Black and head to where you have to find Two Face. Also grab studs along the way to. Make sure have any underwater character and someone who has the power of Chi. Cragger would be more useful but I used Laval and Wonder Woman instead. Make sure you have all the Lex bots are down and you get the minikit. Now get any vehicle that can attract studs and the other 4 or 5 slots you have extra, just place them on the Toy Pad and they have to not be swimming characters underwater. Like Gandalf can't for example. And it really depends if you have Cragger or not. Finally, push the characters that can't go underwater and you can get a lot of studs. If you have Dwarf's Bounty on, it will double it up for you. Next will be glitches Lego Marvel Avengers.

I almost forgot one more glitch, well there are 2 in one glitch so it doesn't matter. It's called the achievement glitch.
And now the Batman cape gone glitch, since I got Stay Puff Mashmellow Man for Christmas, his vest is gone and no arm glitches.
