You're welcome, Caroline. ~ Ben
I find it easier to just leave the fly sheet on and pack it up. no need to take it off when packing away. Makes setup easier next time.
Can make setup easier, just be careful that you don't pinch the fly material in the frame anywhere, SwampySi, as this could create a hole or tear and lead to a leak. ~ Ben
I'm looking to upgrade my old 4P Easy up to the Gold, for the more solid floor, etc. I don't see the point of the three velcro ties on the fly, down each leg. If my old one even has these, I've never used them. The fly can't go anywhere once it's clipped at the corners and pegged. And they look like a pain to undo, especially if it's windy or raining.
They offer a little more stability, Gerhard, it's just one extra point where fabric and frame are joined so it all works together to increase stability. I must admit that they are the most common thing I don't do when setting up my tents though as they are a pain to attach and remove. ~ Ben

I bought mine from Snowy's but I only got 2 poles for the awnings.
You may have the latest 'Evo' version, Ailene, which no longer has the side awning and poles but is compatible with a more functional Evo Awning that fits to the front of the tent. ~ Ben
Looks like a well designed and made tent. I would like to see lighter aluminium poles instead of steel.
Aluminium poles would certainly lighten it up a little, but I don't reckon they would be strong enough. ~ Ben
So basically, the pegs are crap.
Not at all, just suited for grass or turf camping. If you're in a caravan park and have good lawn campsite you'll be fine!
~ Lauren
@@SnowysOutdoors every tent comes with crap pegs, lol.
I know I commented on the silver series vid, but I'm going to buy this tent and not take the waterproof fly off when I pack it down. I can't see why that would be an issue.
Just gotta take care to fold it right.
Just gotta save myself 1 minute of my life really haha
The thing to be careful of is to avoid getting the flysheet caught in any pinch points in the frame as this could create a hole. Further to this, having the flysheet folded amongst the frame increases the chances of rub spots on the fly during transport.
I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just highlighting what you might want to be wary of.
