- In this recipe we will see how to make kesari in Tamil. Rava Kesari recipe / Kesari bath recipe is a quick and easy sweet recipe which is a popular serving along with breakfast recipes. Rava kesari requires only a few ingredients and can be modified to make pineapple kesari or even mango kesari. I usually prefer 1 cup of sugar for 1 cup of rava (sooji) which is the perfect amount of sweetness for me but you can increase the quantity of sugar to 1.5 cups if you are serving to a younger group :) . The amount of water is 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rava / sooji.

I tried this today. In fact, 1st time trying to make kesari! Lol. Used 1/2 cup brown sugar instead. After adding the sugar, the dough started hardening quick. I added more water, so I can add the colouring & mix easier. Came out well. But slightly watery, because of the addition of water. Sugar level was just nice, all liked it. Will try again, this time standby the colour mix beforehand😃. Thank you for sharing.

Looked up countless recipes for this online but this is by far the best and easiest to follow and tastes exactly like the ones my grandmother used to to make.
