When I first rode this I couldn't help but peek outside the car and just marvel at the engineering of the ride. I was absolutely flabbergasted. I kept doing it during the dementor section too which caused me to be jump scared so many more times. Incredible experience.
Same!
So is it a roller coaster ride or is it more screen illusion?
@@muddlasvegas Both kinda, it's super interesting. You're in a cart that's connected to a robot arm that moves along a track. A majority of the ride puts you in front of screens for that illusion but then goes to physical set pieces sometimes. All the dementors were giant physical animatronics that's why they scared the crap out of me when I was marveling at the engineering haha.
@@muddlasvegas actually after rewatching this a majority of the ride is physical set pieces. You can pretty clearly tell when it switches to a screen.

Thank you so much!!!
*Dumbledore:* Feel free to return anytime!
*Me:* I was just attacked by a dragon, acromantulas, dementors, the Whomping Willow and almost crushed to death by a cave in…….. sure I’ll come back.
It’s a ride bro you won’t die lol
Best footage of the dementor scene by far. Most vids it’s just completely black during that portion but you can easily see them here. My favorite part of the ride lol. Nice job
The Whomping Willow part is somehow the scariest part for me even with the giant spiders and dementors. Don't know why. Love this ride though
For those that might ride this… it can make you really motion sick… it took me like 2hrs to recover from the ride. Just FYI… and I don’t think I am the only one.
i’m so thankful i had my motion sickness patches for this trip because this ride would’ve destroyed me
You’re not wrong, lol
I threw up from the motion sickness, I definitely felt it.
Yep. First time I ever rode it, someone who I didn’t know (but was in the same bench) threw up on my shoes as soon as we got off. No apology or anything, just waddled off to the lockers. It left a lasting impression, I have to say! 😂
Nope. We just went and both my MIL and I got really sick on this one.
Thanks for the low light video! This is one of my absolute favorite rides. The design and engineering behind it were so incredible. It’s a must-ride for my group every time we’re there!
Makes me want to hop in the car for an 8 hour trip to Universal!!
i LOVE this ride. my friend and i went on it like 23 times cus of how much we enjoyed it!
This ride looks so cool omg I wish I could go to universal to experience it soon!
This looks incredible
I find this ride so iconic!
I went on this a number of years ago and I still think it was one of the most incredible rides I have ever experienced.
Went on this last summer and it’s amazing!! 🤩
super clear video
This is the only ride I’ve ever actually puked after. 20+ years of roller coasters and everything else, but nothing has made me even as close to as sick as this
I love this ride
God I love this ride
After finally riding this I can see why people get sick on it. I didn’t but I definitely couldn’t do it like 4 times in a row. Super fun ride though.
Loved that ride. Unfortunately during our second time on it, it broke down. We were left hanging on there is a weird position for almost 10 minutes. When it started again the visuals weren’t matching up with the movement of the ride.
Anyone else feel like they’re about to fall backwards on the whomping willow? I literally feel like I’m going to fall off the ride😂
whoever thought of this ride is crazy. i'm still terrified of it.
It captures how dark the Harry Potter franchise is, or was supposed to be. Anyways I don’t think it’s actually scary and I haven’t heard that about it too many times so it’s cool to hear feedback like that. Too me it’s still a masterpiece
I just wish you actually sat on a broom “” like you would if you were sitting on a motorcycle ride at legoland or Disney, it would’ve been more realistic. But I rode this like 300 times the whole time I was there. I was there for like 5 days😭
The freaking spider part messed me up
Wow
I can't go on that ride anymore, I've had surgery on my shoulder and it was too tight
looks very cool. I do want to go there. never been to universal.
So how are the seat’s moving between the screens? It doesn’t look like a roller coaster type of ride but it still looks like the track might be dipping up and down and making sharp turns?
Watch "How It Works: HP & The Forbidden Journey"
it’s a robotic our mechanism that gives you illusion of you flying and it’s a dark ride
@@xxTheIrishGuyxXthanks!
I like hollywood
I was on this ride but I was unable to film it
This ride got me so motion sick. 😞
1:30 lol the echo
Universal generally doesn’t allow filming so I’ve no idea how you captured this footage but it’s cool nonetheless! I try to avoid this ride nowadays because the upside down bits make me feel woozy so it’s cool to experience it like this.
It’s does not go upside down so I don’t know what page your now
@@Jonasgirl I have no idea what you just said. Maybe just re-read your comment before hitting post next time?
@@HerHollyness sorry but you said (i try to avoid this ride nowadays because the UPSIDE DOWN bits)
Is this just all a screen there’s no drops or anything right? Can you describe how it feels?
I don't have any kind of motion sickness but the back and forth between screen and physical movement made my head feel awful
It felt like huge drops, flying and moving, tipping all the way back at times to fly upwards, it was awesome!
Blue team red team orange team
Does anyone know if the mirrors in tha load area are supposed to look so bad? I've never seen them nice, evern when new.
Yes. They’re supposed to look like that. Very true to how they looked in “Order of the Phoenix” movie too.
日本のと同じ設計みたいだね
Does it feel like you’re actually flying?
I was shocked to find out that the ride wasn't a coaster actually dropping downward etc coz it sure felt like it! Great ride, so I rode it a second time!
Your carriage is on a robotic arm and you have a personal screen in front of you, so yes, you swoop and soar and it is an incredible attraction. There is a behind the scenes video on CZcams if you want to know how it is done.
Pretty much! The screen is very realistic idk how to say there’s drops and they are very scary they feel like real drops! And there are winds blowing on top of you head
When I last rode this ride back in 2022 someone was rude to me in the locker room when I was trying to retrieve my belongings; they slammed the locker door in my face after I got my backpack out
How long is the wait, averagely?!
Not long this one, 10 min. Was yesterday ther
okay so I go here alot and it's usually 15-45 minutes on time it was 90
@@IanCorzine-nx8dg Not bad, thanks!
@@deshonjb your welcome!
0:49 y'all hear that its the same sound as 1:03 also 3:24 beep beep lolllll
Does this ride has drops? Because I can’t handle if the drop feels larger than pirate of the Caribbean
No drops
Don’t do Jurassic Park River adventure or Escape to Gringotts then if you hate drops. This one doesn’t have drops but it still has a part that puts you on your back so be wary
Any drops are barely more than a dip in a hilly road, it’s really more of a swoop than an actual drop and only a few feet
The ride vehicle itself stays flat on the floor the entire time but The part you ride in is on a robotic arm so it tilts up and down but doesn’t free fall like a coaster
No drops but don’t go on a full stomach
Did the dragon not work that day? Isnt it suppose to breathe smoke / fire at you?
The one in Orlando does, this one seems a bit more updated too since it was built some years later
I went to Hollywood last month (Jan 2023) and the dragon was covered by a black sheet.
I’m not quite sure how this ride works 🤔
you're in a cart that's connected to a robotic arm that moves across a track. It's pretty incredible stuff.
You dont go upside down do you
No
No but at one point you are flat on your back
It tilts you far back so you’re kinda looking up and then goes slightly further back.
people really get sick on this ride lmao if you do you’re weak
just motion sickness 🤷♂ lots of people cant help it
Actually it's the other way around, if someone doesn't get sick on big coasters but gets sick on this. Means they have sharper senses than you
Universal studios sucks majority of the rides are simulations not even rides you just get motion sickness that’s all wish they would redo most of their rides
nah
yeah the mummy is the only actual thrilling ride there. People also say jurrasic world but like thats a 7 minute ride with a 5 second drop...
Universal Orlando looks much better
i ws checking the rides out, and it seems it had so much potential but im not really sure what theyve done. I cant really make out whats happening on this ride (even if theyre moving or not). But something like Gringotts for example had so much potential... you could have made a rollercoster where the seat physcailly spins round, go through waterfalls, cork screws and finally a massive vertical drop.. instead they did some shitty CGI screen
I hate Universal Studios Hollywood
Why?
Yeah it’s awful
nobody asked you! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
WHY DO YOU HATE IT IS FUN
@user-fw1z2pw9v well I hate you
