Thanks. This gave me more ideas on my dissertation which is basically based on emotional and social intelligence in various types of school principles. Five stars!!!
Great talk, pure about the mechanism of perception process. Ultimately my perception has `filters` that convert certain life events into emotions I understand as negative feelings or anxiety. My mission statement is `love people for what they're not, its your self reflection in some ways, to love self is to love others and to love others is to love self (love as an unconditional acceptance regardless sex, race, age and standings...) p.s how could possibly someone dislike this, its academic (its not some peoples cup of tea) but its genuine and its very good.
Instructor Mitchel Adler discussed emotional intelligence really well. I learned a lot things about emotional intelligence
Everyone is so interested in what hes talking about!! I can see it in theyr faces, good job.
Thank you for sharing Dr. Adler! I love how the description says "so leaders can use emotional intelligence to their advantage".
Its precise, but also indirecly contradictive because of the mirror effect. A leader that uses EQ with his surrounding collegues makes everyone else comfortable to give room for vulnerability and individuality growth. It advantages the team, in turn makes it that much of a healthier, hard working enviorenement for the resulting, seeking leader.
It's an eternal turning circle. We are in this all together.
True, when I was working for a brutal management I was performing to my best and I was top of the performance leagues in the region, he respected me and awarded me, when I was working for a totally relaxed, respectful, understanding manager I performed way less productive, he respected me and rewarded me. Sad but it’s true for me being honest. The manager for compliance was strict as a military officer so for 22 years I worked with him I never made any mistakes when it came to compliance, conduct and paperwork performance. I knew if I made a mistake he was not going to be soft , he had zero tolerances for lousy behaviour so be always supported me and respected me in return.
Thank you so much 4 years on this is truly relevant and inspiring
Very beneficial absolutely true I’ve been through all these emotions and learned how to control it. Thank you so much that was helpful
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I wish I'd have money to come for listening the entire course. So useful.
Feeling glad that world has leaders like him!
Great talk by UC Davis. There is so much we can achieve in changing ourselves for the better by just making time of self introspection and being more reflective on our thoughts and behaviors. How do I feel about this right now ? Why do I feel as such ? Could I feel differently about the same thing or experience ? If not why not ? That's my take away from this talk
I believe we are all leaders in our own sphere and this topic can't be overemphasized more so that self-awareness is the core of EI. Our lives can be better collectively and we also can give more to our world when we are masters first of ourselves and then others.
Well articulated, informative and presented in the best possible way. Surely gonna watch over and over again.
I agree. I have watched many CZcams videos on emotional intelligence, authenticity, active listening, etc. And this video is a stand out. No “bumper sticker”, disposable pop-psychology on this one. An awesome breakdown, with useable points.
Concise, informative, and well communicated!! This is a great intro to Emotional Intelligence with some great takeaways! Thank you
Very helpful and informative. Our emotions happens faster than cognitively we are aware of it. Great work.
So nice to see many of the wonderful people I met in this class. Dr Adler's presentations were among the highest rated by students in the program.
Your posture, presentation skills indicate you are emotionally intelligent.

Good Epeech Thank You
Cool video! :) Emotional intelligence is so important for everyone, not just managers and leaders.
Enjoyed this, thank you, Dr. Adler.
I simply learned a lot about the video of how it didn't give specific instructions of how to be a leader , instead it gave the attributes and techniques of what makes a good leader. Very good, this video deserves a lot of publicity
To be a great leader comes with attributes and experiences. It also takes the indivula to be empathetic for others in order to know how to lead.
Bravo, thank you very much for your professionalism and the way you deliver it. You woke me up!
Congratulations to the producers who put this talk up: no intro, no yards of persiflage. It just starts with the talk. well done.

Secrets of emotional intelligence:
“Recognize” that I am angry right now.
“Why” am I angry ?
“How” to cope with my anger ?
This is exactly what Dalai Lama suggested too in the book of “How to live a happy life”.
UAAAUUU!!! I feel great! Thanks very much!
Insightful seminar! Much appreciated.
Love your explanations, thank you for being you.
I did not often heard of EI but now that I listened what it is I must say thst it is the full consciousness of every aspects of his " being " when he or she is fully manifesting itself in all its activities (physical emotional mental psychic even spiritual ) in other word we call that " real wisdom " because it describes what spiritual people mean . by the word wisdom and it corresponds to a state of consciousness close to illumination !! in spiritual circles .the first ingredient absolutely necessary to progress in this direction is to be honest to be true with your intimate relationship with yourself and consequently with others .there is no charisma without honesty !!
Great video to better yourself. Much appreciated.
This was so wonderful - thank you!

"Self-awareness is the foundation of emotional intelligence. " There is your #1 tool. #2 tool, journaling is one of the best tool of achieving self- awareness. It is lots of work no doubt. You mean I have to look into myself such as my own feeling😢. It takes commitment. It takes lots work. Once you see it & expiernce ofyour own self growth that will motivate to continue to work on yourself. It still takes on going motivation , self discipline to do this. 😊
emotional intelligence is very very useful and important

Leaders don't tell what they want, unless they are position leaders. Hardly anything they get is of value.
Leaders ask.
If you are emotionally intelligent enough to understand the profound difference, you'll develop your leadership to build real followers round you.
There's 2 primary emotions, not 4, that build up all the emotions.
Feeling good or bad. And we are all driven by pleasure and pain. This not to knock your teaching but something to think about. Good job by the way. Look up faster eft. Robert Smith has developed the art of changing your primary imprints. The art of changing your memories, in return reconstructing your life from inside out. Developing real emotional intelligence.
will research this.
thank you.
Your competitive advantage is the accuracy of how you scan the macro and how you make decisions. Awareness is the only sustainable competitive advantage. #a3r
Thanks to Ranjana Sharma, a classmate through Coursera, for pointing me to this talk. Really good.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Evelyn (and thanks for sharing us, Ranjana!).
Really amazing
Thank you very much
The best part about comments is that "how we all born from different mothers have the same thinking process".
he is good !
About judgements: mine are formed through past experiences. I know what to expect from the people who surround me, because I learned through the pain, joy, growth, etc., that I experienced when interacting with them. I created a pattern, a point of observation so that I can spare myself from going through the same bad experiences again. Is it self-defense? Of course. We need to learn not to give the other face to the same people when we know exactly what we'll get from them. Some say I'm wrong and have no emotional intelligence. But if emotional intelligence means interacting with assholes, I prefer not to have any.
So you said you form your judgements about people based on the bad past experiences you've had with them...what are some bad experiences you've had with someone that made you cut them off?

Nice lecture! btw the three primary colors are: Red, Blue and GREEN :)
Green ? _give yourself another chance to make it right
Sorry, you goofed. They are Red, Yellow, and Blue. Green is made up of Yellow and Blue.
@@deborahpruyne6274 red, yellow and blue are primary colours when painting, but red green and blue are the primary colours in physics. Counterintuitively, red+green wavelengths = your eye perceives yellow.
Take a close look at the pixels in a monitor for example. They are red, green, blue.
Who else was waiting for him to say his email address for you to submit your assignment😁✋🏼✋🏼
Feeling good is the key. And a lot of ppl with high IQ just can't figure that out.
What people say about you says more about them emotional intelligence is a compete big words
When I get home from work. I go outside and just sit there for about 30 to 45 minutes, to detox from my job,so that I can be emotionally available for my family
