What brand should I buy next? Comment below! 👇😁
My fiancee gave me a Stuhrling skeleton watch, less than $200, looks and functions reliably so far. Get way more compliments and attention from it than a Rolex that was handed down to me. Might be worth taking a look at one and letting us know what you think.
Hamilton. Quality automatic, amazing build, especially for the money
You should take a look at the Bulgari Octo-Finnisimo timepiece.
If you like watch lume, purchase a Ball watch. Nice quality mechanical watch that flys under the radar while traveling.
Maybe you should buy a Citizen echo drive watch they are very fancy timepieces but a whole lot cheaper than a Rolex or Tudor watch . Anyways digging that Beautiful watch collection . How do I get a free watch from your badass collection ?
based on my experience, items that got the most attention and compliments are 1)my shoes 2) my briefcase 3) my suit. the people who usually notice your watch, are watch nerds, just like me. lol
When it is about watches it may be jealousy as well as attention.
So true.
Exactly!
Without cheating, I think you've got a Tudor on.😅
Good one!
Definitely looks like a Black Bay. Antonio has mentioned his Tudor before.
Yeah for sure. Thought it was the no date til he gave it away with the hint.
Bb58
Tudor was obvious without cheating, considered blackbay before opting for a hulk, doubt the Tudor would have risen as much... 🙄
dont buy rolex: here are my 4 rolexes...
essentially: buy lots of rolexes
it is an oxymoron eh?
😂😂😂
Same thoughts exactly lol
It’s actually the other way around:
After buying 4 Rollies he tells you “it ain’t all that”.
The man is imparting his wisdom on you.
🤷♂️
@CRF.Channel97 have 10 rolexes, realize rolex aint shit... still wont give them away for free though...
My story with my first Rolex Sub with date...
When I was a kid my grand father and my uncle both had one. These two are my absolute role-model. About a month ago I finally pulled the trigger to buy one and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Because every time I look at the time I see my grandpa. RIP.
Plot twist :
u murder ur Grandpa for a watch🕛🕛
How come they didn't pass it on to you?
Literally this guy: " I went out for a coffee and bought a brand new rolex to celebrate the tradition of coffee brewing."
how?
Hahah, that's pretty funny.
You can own a Rolex as long as you can afford it.
Everyone can afford a Rolex, Just don't waste money on alcohol smokes or drugs...
Andrea Bosio you get more enjoyment from the drugs 😂😂😂
@@spieler440 lol...i guess.. If you prefer to say good by to the chance of having a healthy life, kids and a watch to pass on to them... Plus your money goes to the pusher who will buy a yellow gold day date to look even more gangstar ...like Tony soprano...lol...
Andrea Bosio what if I have all of the above?
@@spieler440 good for you... But I pity u if u do drugs and have kids... Bad raw model.
Good reasons. BUT, my Rolex I can admit does the talking a lot when I’m out. Especially on my job interview, speeches and dates. I love the return investment.
Having a story behind a watch - the most luxury asset.
WE NEED A VIDEO ABOUT YOUR WATCH COLLECTION
Awesome advise! I was pretty skeptical of how rolex has been with keeping their inventory unavailable at AD, now thinking about it, its time to let rolex go and find better watches for less! ✊🏻✊🏻
My favorite is an Omega Seamaster of the 60s. It was my dad's watch and thus priceless.
The Datejust is BEAUTIFUL! The person you're giving it to is extremely lucky!
Love my Sub. It's a great piece of engineering, design and history, three disciplines i can appreciate without caring what others say.
My favorite daily wear watch is a ball engineer master pilot automatic. The most accurate mechanical watch I own. Extremely durable and a good overall value. Nobody will know what it is you are wearing which is perfectly fine.
I see a whole lot of watches behind you. Would you do a “State of the Collection” video?
Watch out for it. 😏😁
*Spots a Casio Royale in the collection.
Ah, I see, you're a person of culture as well.
Love the channel as a fragrance guy and a watch guy this is great. I agree on all your comments about Rolex. I have always wanted a Rolex GMT Master, the newer style just doesn't do it for me, plus the last several years they just over inflated the prices. For my 50th picked up the Tudor GMT and love it. Looks classic, like what Rolex used to be.
As I watch guy I personally think you can get just "as good" or close to it with a Tudor, Breitling, or Omega and they have the names as well.
Grand Seiko and for a drive watch the Oris is great.
Helpful as always! Hope you don't mind that I will constantly be asking questions here and there to gain even more knowledge.I know you mentioned track outfits before but track jackets alone should they not be a part of your wardrobe? Mine is a sports one representing a basketball team with a small logo.Keep up the good work!
Great advice if you are starting your collection. Plenty of options out there. Tissot, Tudor, and Grand Seiko. Some great high frequency quartz by Bulova and Citizen Eco-Drive as well.
As I always say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if someone can AFFORD, without braking the bank, by all means. But if you consider using a credit card, it means you cannot afford it... IMO!
Good point, Mikael!
Absolutely do not spend credit to buy a luxury watch! Pay cash and IMO don't spend more on a watch than you'd spend on a suit.
But what if I put it on credit for the cash back? HA!
@@Henchman_Holding_Wrench Well fuck me dead, that's a brilliant idea. I'm going to buy a house on a credit card.
@@Henchman_Holding_Wrench That is smart. I do that all the time. The most important thing is having the cash to pay credit card bills immediately
When I became successful, I swore I wanted a Rolex...that's until I came across Jaeger-LeCoultre, I truly love their style.
I love that you're not just jumping on the bandwagon of expensive watches to raise self-esteem. I make videos about utilising habits to your advantage and you are very inspiring.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Great video! The watch peek looked like a Seiko, but you revealed it wasn't at the end of the video. Do you have any content on traditional watches vs. the new smart watches? I'm quite fond of the traditional (and less distracting) style. Keep up the good work!
You’re not collecting watches for the sense of gaining status, yes sometimes that is at play.. but more than that wristwatches are something that hold a great amount of stories yet it is right there in our hands, very personal. Most people after they buy couple of jeweler iced out rolexes they get bored. That’s because they’re buying it for others and soon as others see less of them, the watches get less interesting. To really be a collector who can love and savor the moments with your watches, knowledge about watches is essential. The more you know about something, the more you know what makes it special, the more you can actually enjoy it. Knowing that there are Bakelites GMTs, The meaning of letterings in Rolex dials { i.e the underlines, scoc instead of occ, etc} Realizing that Rolex was founded in 1905 and most of its peers are made in 1800s, Understanding that wristwatches are actually used as a tool by its wearer back in early 90’s - to be fair they didn’t have a phone, they actually use it to measure time. This and many other intriguing stories that makes it a journey of collecting, a hobby that consist of a thousand stories of mechanical developments. That is how you make collecting watches pleasurable, enjoyable, knowing that in your hands it holds centuries of mechanical marvel, that it speaks volume.
your casio collection in the back is great
Very sound advice.
Loves your videos. Okay advice please. I’m currently saving for Rolex explorer. It’s my favorite watch ever. I’m even wearing a explorer homage as my daily watch. I won’t be able to afford the watch for at least a year or two. Is it a justifiable purchase? Or should I just go with the 39 mm Longines Conquest And be happy? For me the Rolex will be a reminder of how much I have overcome and accomplished. It will remind me of the years of studying and being in school and not giving up.
I've wanted a rolex since I was 8. I bought my first rolex at 24 years old and I love it. Never take it off and it's the GMT so its practical when I travel. I love my rolex. But I want a Patek Philippe lol.
That is the trajectory I took..But it was many years before I bought my first Patek. But worth it.
Nice, which Patek are you eyeing? I'm thinking the SS Aquanaut on Rubber strap. It has just the right balance of elegance and sportiness for my taste without appearing too gaudy at a glance.
The only other Patek I would want is a Nautilus 5711-1A but that's near unobtanium at this point.
@@Whiskey_Tengu That is the exact Patek I own and I love it. The vast majority of people will think it is a Timex or Hamilton, which is fine by me as I wear it everywhere and no one gives me a second look. Unfortunately, that includes females.
@@locutusdborg126 very fine selection, good sir! how comfortable is the rubber strap on yours? I tried on the Rolex Yachtmaster Rose Gold with Oysterflex and I must say, that was one of the most comfortable straps I've ever felt...
@@Whiskey_Tengu Love the rubber. I never thought I would like rubber, thought they looked cheaper, but it looks great and is super comfortable
Sorry but Rolex is best and timeless, like a patek philippe, frederiq constant etc.
I agree but patek is trash
@@adityaakashanand2334 please dont talk out of your ass.
Rolex is ok, but in its price range it is outclassed by many: Grand Seiko, JLC, Blancpain, Glasshütte O., etc.
You have a beautiful collection of watches! I was glancing behind you to see the watches on display while you were talking. Amazing! ⭐
I really like that blue Daydate. I've been thinking of picking up that exact model except with a smooth bezel.
Dont get a rolex if you can't afford it. That being said... its definitely worth the money
Don't forget that Rolex recommends you send the watch in for servicing and cleaning every 3 years.
The last time I sent in my Rolex for this service 15 years ago it cost $900!
Might be a better plan to just buy a $1000 watch every three years. There are TONS of super classy watches for a grand!
My uncle has a rolex from 1980 and never served it. Still running perfectly.
Not true. Every 10 years is the new standard.
did you get the yacht master 2
If these fine Swiss watches are as amazing as the marketing says they are, why would you need to get them serviced so often? Furthermore, why would you even need a warranty? Go grey market and save yourself hundreds or thousands.
I do clean my gshock watches everyday with soap and water 😂
Great relavant points 👍
I am glad that this video was not an ad in disguise. Great vid Antonio!
i bought my Daytona and GMT for 5 years ago, it is more than doubled the price now!! u wear it and it goes up in price. now thats a good investment!!
The retail price doubled. But for your watch in particular I very much doubt you can make a profit when you sell it - especially if it's part of your watch rotation.
Firstly a quick correction: the Rolex watches being sold today have a recommended service interval of 10 years - not 5 years as Antonio says here. With earlier models the interval was 7 years. This is still a factor to think about - but perhaps more especially if someone owns a lot of them.
That point aside, I think Antonio does make some thoughtful and valid observations here. There are downsides to collecting Rolex (or other luxury watches) and it isn't many CZcams gurus who pause to take a careful look beyond the hype.
However there is inevitably something a bit hollow about an individual who _owns four Rolex watches_ making a video along the lines: "hey, you really shouldn't go buying Rolex, guys!" As a general rule of life people do need to practise what they preach in order for their advice to be taken seriously - in my opinion.
Jay Burgess doesn’t advice from an individual who’s actually experienced what they’re advising you on mean more? I mean, if he hadn’t owned any Rolexes would he be in any position to speak on them?
@@ukjamaican4488 Hi buddy. If Antonio owned one (or even two) Rolex watches I think you'd be making a fair point. But FOUR Rolex watches? I dunno, you would think he might have given himself the message by watch number three!? I don't want to be unfair to Antonio, but I suspect that what he really means in this video is that HIS VIEWERS (just ordinary regular people) shouldn't be buying Rolex. But maybe he sees himself as being a little superior to us, you know? Like I say, I don't want to be unfair, but that's a little bit the impression I get here.
I bought the Rolex explorer last year. I absolutely love it. It's understated, classy and really simple. You can wear it with anything and it looks great. Good choice buying the Black Bay 58, that's on my list as well.
Hi Antonio, can you point to which video you talk about the Tudor 58? Thanks
#1 reason for me: Everyone will assume it's a fake.
Everyone except for you.
That's the difference
@@kallensaczkowski Perfectly said as that's exactly what I think with mine.
kallen saczkowski
😂nice answer
that says more about you and those you associate with, than it does the brand
@@elgringo3115 okay. 🤙🏽
I just go for G-Shock b'coz it's within my budget, but for Rolex it's too much. It's only for those who really can afford. Thank you Sir RMRS for this informative video, i like the way how you enounciate those words it's so clear to hear without blinking your eyes. 😉✌
G shock and Garmin are practical watches for those of us that live our lives outside.
This guy makes sense. Thanks!
Thank you for this video. I love seeing a mix of digital watches and analog watches behind you. Makes me feel like I can relate to you (coz of the G-shocks) even if I don't have any luxury watches.
The watch you’re wearing... a Tudor black bay?
Roger Federer's story is truly inspirational! Thanks for the video Antonio. I don't have a Rolex yet because I don't have the money yet, but I do want to buy one someday.
In Switzerland Federer does advertising for basically anything. From insurance policies to pasta. Federer makes much more money every year with advertising than playing tennis. That is why he is the best paid tennis player on the planet even if he is not number 1. And he uses the money to buy fancy sports cars 😂😂😂
@@stephm4047 Yes, Roger does have a lot of sponsors, and he does make much more money through them than he does through playing matches. But he's worked hard to get to where he is today, and I think he deserves everything that he has. To still be at the pinnacle of the sport at 38 years of age and after all he's achieved, is incredible in my opinion. He also doesn't just spend his money on fancy cars. Sure, he has a nice house, nice car and nice watches but he also created a foundation to give kids in South Africa an opportunity to have an education and he gives advice to younger players to help them grow and maybe even surpass him. That's why I think he's an inspiration to us all.
Cool, down to earth review. Subscribed. 👍
The first truly honest watch video. Well done
You see people selling Rolexes their grandfather left them.
Vince White yeah I know a couple friends who did that because they were in some financial problem. But now they regret it
Yeah ...i sold my daydate i inherited from my grandfather. No regrets. It was a 1979 presidential bark with factory diamonds on the dial. Had no use for a fancy watch. Cash is better for me.
I'm gonna say your wearing a Tudor. :)
I've got the Explorer and Triumph in my collection as well; one on steel and the other on a strap is all any collection needs to be.
Tudor black bay. Maybe the 58 but I’ll go for the regular 41mm black bezel/dial. I own one and absolutely love it!
Thank Lord, I seriously thought your number 1 reason was gonna be "because MVMT are so much better!" Sorry I ever doubted you!
Something to said for drug prevention
@P M B they are both cheap alibaba watches marked up $100
@P M B LOL damn right
Rolex is my dream and in future I will try to get my hands on it because we always to say that rolex is not as good but at the end of the day we come to one point that rolex is the king of watches
Everybody has different point of view . If you think that any brand can compete against rolex it may be true but I don't think that any brand can compete or even have few points that make it better from rolex
@@CartoonWeasel yup
You’re channel is superior because you don’t joke around or BS to get subscribers. You talk fast giving detailed, honest, and useful information in a time efficient manner. In terms of learning you are the best. Wish I found your channel sooner!
I really like the Steinhart. I think it's a great option I never owned a Rolex but I do own other luxury watches. I think the Steinhart is a great alternative if you want that look and you can't spend thousands on a Rolex . It's very high quality for the price.
Again, great useful content. Sir, just want to tell you that, the new background is extremely distracting, everything on the background wants to catch the viewers attention which makes them less attentive on your words. The viewer all times wants to know which watches are at the display, are they new or same as the last video, why are they masked, what's the reason of masking, then guessing the watches, which books are those, do I have any, have I read any, etc such thoughts keep popping at mind while listening to you and eyes are at constant move on all the objects which defocuses you. The clean ONLY YOU background is very effective so that we focus on you and your content.
Hope to see the clean background next times. Thank You.
I appreciate the honest feedback Nikhil!
@@RealMenRealStyle Thank You Sir.
I wear my rolex 24/7 and I love and feel good about it. It's not for status purposes, not for investment but I know If I need to get out into a situation I know I can trade my watch for a crappy toyota car if I need to. Accept the fact who doesn't know Rolex.
Yes....
I KNOW I'm late but I've JUST discovered your video send that watch is Tudor Black Bay 58.
I’d say you’re wearing a Tudor pelagos. But honestly, I own 8 rolexes and 5 omegas. Prices are high, but the quality is worth it.
My favorite brand is Breitling, i hunted down my 2 favorite models (Navitimer and SOH2) 2nd hand in prestine condition, box and papers for a price that i wouldn't lose money on, maybe even make some on the Navi in the future. If you love Rolex then buy Rolex or just buy any watch you love at a price you are comfortable with and that will make you happy and proud every second on your wrist.
To sum it up- The watch to get is the one you really lusted after and fell in love with, Rolex, Omega, Breitling, Invicta, Casio, Tag, Timex etc.. Whatever makes you happy! :-)
Greeting Antonio, what about matching the color of the watch to to your outfit, especially black and red, or black, green I got a Tissot t race moto Gp,?
How can match a strap color or dial color to your outfit?
I liked the video 👍🏻
The Explorer is amazing, my favorite too.
Basically mechanical watches are a technology of the past. Smart watches are today’s technology. But of course it does not bring the status of a high end mechanical watch which is a bit the equivalent for men of jewelry for women. So it is a bit like the way men are with vintage cars, like Jaguar, or motorcycles.
I also had an expansive watch stolen , wearing it in a club, so yes it does happen.
I was sure the one you had was going to be a Tudor, the Rolex little sister brand.
The only person that noticed my Rolex was the hooker I picked up
You have at least 75 reasons why you're Rolex watches aren't getting enough wrist time.
There's a place for a Rolex in everyone's watch collection.
Do you recommend if I get a Movado
Nice video and I’ve learnt a few facts about expensive watches 👍
I was sure you were going to recommend vincero or mvmt, you are on the right track now 😂
Invicta Pro Diver? Waiting for the end of the Video now 😂
Spot on
I’m so sad that I missed the chance of meeting you when you were in Mauritius 😕
Honestly that’s the wrong advise. To you watches might be just watches, but to a lot of us watches is a passion and hold their value far better than your product or cars. At the end of the day I love all my 14 rolex and truly enjoy them. To each their own I guess.
Lol 14?
Look at her profile. He/she doesn't have 14 watches
I know he doesn't understand watches at all. He owns 4 Rolex because he has money but it doesn't mean he is an expert in the subject. Not that long ago he thought MVNT watches were great and know he is a watch expert🤣🤣. He need more experience in the watch world before he can say a Rolex is not worth your money.
(I am a third generation watchmaker that is why I can say he doesn't understand watches at all) also if he is gonna say all this about Rolex he also has to say it about all fine watches, and once he is there he has to say it about fine clothes and shoes. HE TRULY UNDERSTANDS NOTHING ABOUT WATCHES!!
Pepe Gomez 😂 says the cartel wanna be.:. Dude is that all you know? Obviously only losers like you guys follow advise from another looser. This guy makes money off idiots like you by selling his garbage to fill your empty souls... 14 rolex alone not counting all the other brands... hey keep making money off that part time job bro.
I found Casio Edifice look stylish with under 100£
Which model?
I prefer Garmin Fenix. And I have had some really interesting conversations about my Garmin watch.
Love this dudes honesty
Typical watch newbie still in the "there is so many other watch companies better than Rolex" phase.
I concur
Totally disagree! Rolex is one of the best watch brand in the world! First it keeps the value and the movement is one of the hardest in the market! Get a Rolex u would love it!
NO, rolexx is just marketed fancy good, main market: arabs and it's sold mostly as a jewellery piece. Best watches are omega, still similar prices for non-precious metal and diamond flashy ones, but they are what they are, they don't break.
@@aDmaNN266 u really dont know what u are talking about. losers wears omega and shit. i sold my Seamaster. it stoped 2 times. never again. looking for a Rolex now!
Exactly, I plan on getting one in the future
Adomas Paliulis Omega is a great watch believe me I own a speed master but it doesn’t hold the value like Rolex! Sorry it’s just facts
@@javiercartaya1426 who cares about the value, if you want to do business, do business, i dont know any1 who would like to buy any item to sell it years later, buy it for yourself, I usually buy items and scratch or damage them to the extent that it does not hurt to functionality, but it has no resale value , so people wont steal things from me or get attention.
I love my No date two liner Submariner and my 1984 Datejust, I use them more than my Navitimer and Radiomir.
Love your taste in watches
The title of this should be "4 stupid reasons why you shouldn't buy a rolex"..
why?
I'm cool with my fossil.
Hahaha...me too.
Not sure if there's a video out or not but I think an Antonio watch collection video would make a great video.
Yep , I was right ! Tudors look so much like Rolexes in my opinion . I do believe that the companies are linked though . Nice video. Thanks for sharing . I would eventually buy a Rolex but I would wait until the "Rolex bubble " crashes . They are ridiculously expensive now . If anything, I think it's a good time to purchase an Omega to get your bang for your buck .
3 options when maintenancing/ servicing a Rolex first option take it to Rolex it will run you $1,200 and up depending how damaged / parts are overhaul second option take it to a 4 star ⭐️ local dealer -you know the ones that sell second hand watches that are located in your cities best part of town best shopping centers restaurants and they will charge $800 and they’ll probably do a weird job-third option take it to a local dealer that buys and sells gold in a small shop you know those shops that do custom jewelry repairs located by McDonald’s for about $100 and chance that they use non Rolex parts -Yeh so it’s expensive no real short cuts with Rolex
How right you are Rolex*Jerk,
A good friend o f mine who is wealthy only recently divulged he was a watch collector.
We went to pick up his repaired Rolex. The shop was right in the heart o f Sydney, Australia's central business district. The shop was in the upstairs of an arcade in a discrete location. This shop had no name.
A distinguished gentlemen let us in. I was introduced as an acquaintance. He paid $US1,100 at that time.
This Rolex was selling at $US20k.
I found out later that these high end watch repair retailers and repairer's, just like in the United Kingdom usually don't have names unless it's a pre-1912 business
E.g. Williams and Son Est 1908.
The sign of genuine wealth. (NOTE - I don't get it and don't pretend too.)
Even in this age of Social Media these high end businesses survive on word of "ecpensive" mouths.
After we left I mentioned some well known Australian jewellery shops f o r these repairs. I was stunned when my friend said "they steal the original parts". You have the watch valued later and find out a $28k watch is only worth 10 as essential original parts were replaced by cheap ones.
I was amazed. . .
You should do your watch collection review 👍
hey antonio whats some appropriate shoes to wear when going to parties
crocs
Is it omega?
Good taste. Explorer 1 is a classic and the yacht master is under appreciated
I'm on holiday in Mauritius right now!
What is the other watch with that Monaco on the top left corner?
What model is that G-Shock with the negetive display? 7:14 ?
Thank you for the enlightenment. I was about to buy a Rolex in Chrono24, but then I saw this video and it made me realize not to proceed.
Few people need that level of accuracy.
Is it a Tudor 58 your wearing ?
I happen to disagree with a lot of what you’re saying. Allow me to make a few points. 1. The likelihood of you losing a ton of money on reselling a Rolex is low at the most I’d be surprised if you lost more than $500 that and when you buying something expensive you know that you’re not gonna get your money back from selling it and if you’re just gonna give not one but two very expensive watches away you most not be too concerned about losing money. 2. Some grand Seiko’s are just as expensive as Rolex yes the spring drive movement may be a little bit more accurate but for me I like watches that tick and you don’t get that in a Spring drive movement you can in their hi beat movement but it cost more. 3. I’d tell everyone who’s just “getting into” watches to start with omega and some IWC watches are not too expensive that and buy used. Nice black bay btw.
Bit late here but thanks for the Datejust Antonio.
Is the watch an Omega seasmaster ?
Gotta be a Tudor Black Bay. Nice video, man!
I guessed your BB58 right only because I’ve been looking at getting it for the past couple days and is very unmistakable after you know it. I’m glad to hear you love it. I will mostly likely put a deposit on it today :)
