Dude a 43.31 split is crazy. That would have been faster than anyone in last years world championships or even the Olympics in 2021. Ryan willie is going places
Splits are irrelevant, what does he run the 400m
@@lilcourtny08 exactly people have split 42 seconds before . Not even the same distance as the open 400
@lilcourtny08 it's literally in this video
@@meertillman9718 I don't remember anyone ever talking about Michael Johnson split times in the 400 relay. Do you know Usain Bolt split times in the 4x100 relay. Only this guy will make a video about a damn split time like it really matters.
@@lilcourtny08 people have made videos about those aswell
8.65s fot bolt and 42.94 for johnson
Jaydon Hibbert’s world U20 triple jump record at this event was a more significant performance and achieved off only a 12 stride approach and he is still only 18 years old.
Unbelievable 🙌
Honestly though, the way he powers through his first strides looks he's getting up to full speed as is though. This could even be beneficial. 12 rather than 20 steps is a big energy saver in a power event if you can pull it off. Perhaps he can lengthen the runup as he gets faster- but you always need more power to balance more speed as it comes. He seems like he's got a good balance right now whatever he's doing 🤯🚀 onwards and upwards
omfGAWD ‼️
I dont understand whats the point of junior records if its just all 18 and 19 year olds taking the records, like under 18 records make sense because it showcases the best kids but I just dont understand why junior records are a thing if only adults are winning them? Not saying they arnt impressive I just don't understand the point of it?
@@juliahertz1788 to TRY to help an UNDERRATED sport. T-&-F. U21 should be the highest tho. For males
i saw this guy in person at SECs….. he’s crazy
Willy even let up at the end! Run through the tape young man!
I remember when Michael Norman a few years ago ran a 43.1 split and their 4x400 team went off that yr, getting the same vibes from this Florida team, very hyped up for these ncaa finals
Michael Norman was different in college. He and Raj were a crazy fast duo. I'm a Gator and I remember one time I thought "oh Grant gonna run this scrub down" ...but it was Raj Benjamin and that man had the most relaxed and graceful stride. Grant didn't catch him and probably lost a few as well. That was a Great squad!
Michael Norman's fastest 4x400 split is a 43.06, look it up. He ran that split against Texas A&M's Devin Dickson May 28 2018 at the NCAA West Prelims.
It’s always been in sports, Bigger, Faster, Stronger. Records are eventually going to be broken in athletics and it’s amazing to watch in our few decades of life.!
These athletes are incredible
Willie didn't even run through the finish line in the 400m or the 4x 400m
@gregginter5867 He was probably too exhausted as he had won the 400m earlier in the day.
Your wrap-up race pods are awesome! Ty so much for your efforts!
3 of the top5 4x4' in NCAA history,
in one conference is...
WILD!!!!!!!🤯🤯🤯🤯
UCLA is the only school west of the Mississippi River that has gone under 3:00 this year at the Texas Relays they ran a blazing time of 2:59.25 breaking the OLD SCHOOL RECORD of 2:59.95.
Gators just going to keep breaking there own 4x4 record every year 🐊
You should have probably put a picture of Willie instead of Patterson in the thumbnail, since you have 43.3 in the thumbnail
Hey TRP I really wanted to thank you 🙏
For delivering the best athletic videos on YT and then even the uploads are the thing that really go unreal
You upload high quality videos on daily bases and just wanted you to know how much we all appreciate your work man
Is there any info about Donnie Braz? Still hope he gonna join Coe with sub 1:42 and sub 3:30
Did Will summer run the final leg for Georgia? (The man is unreal hope he goes for the 800)
@robinbauer1975
Will Sumner of Georgia is only a freshman but he won the SEC 800 m championship. His winning time of 1:46.20 means he has the Div. 1 leading time. He runs on their 4 X 400 m relay that has the second fastest indoor time and was third yesterday in the Outdoor race which they ran slightly slower.
Awesome commentary, thanks very much..
Amazing track coverages... thank you sir
Thanks for another great video. I'm soo excited for TnF. Finally becoming many others favorite sport. Been a huge fan ever since I could remember. I really appreciate your vidz.
Peace N Love
good gosh! 43.31?? lol If this isnt a new golden era in track I have no idea what is? Almost every meet I watch is highlighted by young 18-22 year olds hitting times you hardly ever see. FL looked insane but to have 3 teams in the same meet under 3?? wow! Yes they can top their time but tough to get all 4 hitting better times than this at the same time. This youth wave of kids hitting insane times is happening globally. I just watched 18-19 year olds running insane times at the Kip Keino Classic and Sha'Carri looking great in the 200m. Then Britton Wilson in an open 400m in another meet and now this. The only complaint I have about track is it's tough finding it live on TV in the US unless it's a major meet.
these college athlets are getting insane
@@juliahertz1788 Yes they are and... I'm HERE for it! Oh man what a great time to be a track fan!
Congratulations, Gators!
Ryan Willie finally became what he promised he would be in his freshman year
Looks like he still had gas left in the tank too. Crazy!!!!
Great video man
At the 0:30 mark, Texas is in the Big 12, not the Big 10.
Fact.
I remember that UCLA time, it was the first time a collegiate team broke 3 minutes.. Sometime around 1990, Kevin Young was on that team..I thought that Michael Norman USC team was on this list .
Absolutely insane times!!! ✅💯🎯🚨🔥
Their so amazing!
Beating the old record by half a second and losing is crazy
I believe the reason for the general increase in performance in the 200 and 400 is mostly do to change in training methods.
No endurance anymore but more focus on max speed
A great performance.
Let's go Ryan!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Don't let up at the end...at what level is this not understood? Great job though UF!
Balls out awesome.
Also just a note this isn’t there regional performance. The East and west regional meets are not for two more weeks for the NCAA. This was just conference champs .
@bwillyoufunny That's right. East First Round. 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships - First Round
May 24-27 // at Hodges Stadium // Jacksonville, Fla. West First Round will be in Sacramento, CA..
Go Gators!🐊🐊🐊
I think this is the fastest they will run. we have to take into consideration that the record doesnt go down without alabama also breaking it. Now, we are not only depending on florida to bring their A+ game again, but there needs to be someone that can push them. Its unlikely that another team will be able to touch 3:57. It would be cool if they prove me wrong though.
We will
bro i got chills
Patterson is the only SR in the group! TBD on what Willie does after a season like this, but kind of scary to think about what this team is capable of. It feels like we're witnessing a step change in track and field this year.
Alabama deserves credit too...their 4th leg left too early
I did leave early, first 4x4 of the season
Go Gators! 🐊
Those are my Gators 😤
keeping eyes on this team 4 sure
Texas is in the Big 12, not the Big 10.
Alabama's 1st leg was outstanding
Ryan Willies running style reminds me of non another than Micheal Johnson 👍.
All of the Florida runners just looked like they had way more endurance in that last 50m whether in the 200m or 400m splits. They were ALL in better shape, by a lot and they didnt even look tired after crossing the line. They didn't grimace or anything. Wild af. There absolutely has to be some kind of technical breakthrough in food or supplements that has this track year going this crazy. This is not natural progression. This is EVERY event with multiple if not dozens of athletes who are above the record marks of their predecessors. Somethings going on and idgaf what people say about anything but when I see high school juniors who don't run full time running clean 10.18s and high school seniors running sub 10s and female high schoolers running sub 11 100m or running sub 22.5 200m or 20 year olds running sub 20s 200ms... there's something going on that's not normal.
So are you suggesting they did this with supplements? If so, are they traceable?
Wow Texas finally made the switch to the big10
Coach Holloway getting those young men to next level performance. Just get them to run through the finish line.
Watching this live was insanity
The amount of insane times being done and records getting beaten warrants a video about advancing shoe and track technology and hoe the are contributing.
Exactly. Shoe technology and it's almost universal adoption by athletes from high-school up to the pros is the delta in the last 2ish plus years. HS, college, and pros in large numbers all suddenly running faster. It's not even debatable, but people are getting sick of talking about it. Doesn't make it any less relevant. No top HS track athletes are competing in a non super spike and almost no college athletes and literally no pros run in old shoe tech. That says it all right there. And yes, track surfaces are always improving to produce faster times, not to mention pacing lights in a lot of meets now.
Congratulations
Greay job Florida.
Wow
Track and field is proof of the evolution of all athletes and how large the gap is becoming between today and earlier eras
The anchor finished effortlessly without struggle, grimace or out of breath. Unreal
I think this is the first time TRP ever mentioned Udodi. For about 10 seconds. In a 19.91 second race. But of course, Matthew Boling gets 5 minutes over and over for doing nothing exciting. What was Boling's time in the 200 this weekend?......Crickets.West coast athletes don't really exist here.
This is the SEC Conference 4 X 400m. How does the West Coast and the relatively unknown Udodi Onwuzurike, a Nigerian sprinter from Stanford, come into this picture? And TRP mentioned Boling's name ONCE at 3:06.
That's all.
Boling's times were far below his average. Obviously he's got some issue we don't know about. Why you gotta try to run TRP and Boling down? It's pretty pathetic that you want to keep criticizing TRP for mentioning Boling's name. Boling has scored the most total points of any sprinter since he started in the NCAA's to the present date. Maybe you're still smarting from Udodi Onwuzurike finishing third to Boling and the Ugandan Orogot in the NCAA 200m indoor finals. You'll get plenty of chance to hear about the "exciting" Onwuzurike later in the NCAA Finals and when he represents Nigeria at Budapest.
Florida baby Florida.
Haha yea TRP does talk abt Matthew Bowling and random irrelevant split times too much. But it’s all good I still love watching these videos there’s still a lot of good content they put out
Everyone is talking about the SEC 4x4 on Twitter and ppl still are.I think that those ppl can go even faster.
That race was one in a lifetime event.
There are still two more chances to do better. I know Georgia can and has done better this year.
I lived in Florida for 22yrs, beautiful weather. My old butt did 3.1 miles a day. The lady gators “got” speed also. I have gators mask a cap. And I’m in Texas.😂
"Chariots of Fire" in the SEC !!!
Heads up. Texas is not in the Big Ten as your video shows. 😊
🐊
SMH.....dem Florida boyyyys
SEC speed merchants !!!
Texas is in the big 12 not the big ten.
Texas is in the Big 12, NOT the Big Ten
Please put the appropriate picture next to the 43.3 time
Texas is in the big 12 not 10
The problem with that is some runners run farther than others on a relay leg.
Crazy fast 4x400, not sure they can top that time at NCAAs
Willie didn't run through the tape so he definitely has more reserves. A little improvement on 1st and 2nd and it's theirs to take.
I know it’s a culmination of a lot of different elements, but what do y’all think is the primary driver of seeing all these records getting smoked so often? Nutrition? New/revolutionary strength and conditioning programs and approaches? Easier access to shared information and expertise? More athletes getting a shot at schools with decent coaching and S&C programs (larger sample size)?
I know one coach with one certain approach and training schedule can make a world of difference… Texas Tech’s track coach coached at a tiny high school for a number of years, and they *always* had dominant track teams. He had a knack for taking decent athletes and turning them into REAL track runners, and his kids were phenomenal athletes. Then he took that expertise to D1 and put Texas Tech’s track program on the map, so I know how much of a difference one coach can make, but training and tactics and technique can only carry you so far; it just seems like these young kids are able to start fueling and training their bodies *well* earlier and earlier on.
Super impressive.
Betting you're going to make another video about Boilings split xD
Wow you kids whine when Boling is mentioned and you whine when he isn't!! Go figure!!
@@michaeldeierhoi4096 Ain't that the truth? Haters gotta hate. But don't worry. It isn't about his skin color so it not racist.
@@michaeldeierhoi4096 I'm not hating! I'm gonna watch the video!
and both his individual race and the relay he let up with 2 or 3 strides b4 the line so it coulda been even quicker thats mental
Can you do a presentation on the Nike Flymax shoe?
Yes i think they can do it not far of 43 sec😊
Don't sleep on Baylor
Please make a video of sidi the highscooler that just ran a 45.45 in the 400m
highschooler*
Florida and Arkansas are power houses
Go gators baby 🐊🐊
And the Florida runner eased up the last 5 yards before finishing. If he hadn't their time would have been even faster by a little bit....
I ran 43 in my senior yr in Highschool and i didnt even take track seriously.
Sure…..
I try and tell people , us Florida folk fast.
Better training
Better diet
Better track
Better shoes
Better drugs
I don’t know why UGA is putting their two fastest guys at first and second
And Florida's second leg looke like he was struggling big time.
News flash, Texas isn't in the Big 10.
You know its getting crazy when college teams are running 2:57's
And he took his foot off the gas for the last 10 meters in both the relay and the straight 400.
he runs style is similar to Michael Johnson
Gators 🐊
Is it me or was Ryan Willy not even breathing hard at the end? He was breathing about as heavy as I do walking from the bedroom to the living room...wow!.
You got a problem then. Get healthy!
He is an elite level athlete
@@johngreg12 Thank you for my daily reminder of "Get your @ss to the gym" ;)
2:19 Why is Georgia in second at 2:58.82 When Florida is 2:58.83?
Make a video on Erin brown
yes it is a little too hard to believe now so lets have more investigation on what drugs they are taking
We will see record years for doping busts com8ng soon too
Go gators man
Doesn’t even look tired.
Yes under 257 is possible
Please give us a spotlight Mia Brahe-Pedersen...who is beating the boys and breaking all the records as a high school junior!!! CBS Mornings covered her today, you can do a better job.

Big 12 I think?
Ryan Willie is the future of the US 400m
Where would that leave Champion Allison and Randolph Ross?
And then he’ll venture over to the 100 and 200 too smh
Ryan willie 43.86
Willie's time winning the 400m without the running start that he had in the relay: 44.27. Last two Olympics 43.85 and 43.03.
