the way that this doesn't even feel like 10min for me and i'm sure most of the swifties (myself included) will listen to this version cause all we care about is the story that she is telling with these amazing lyrics and we just get drowned in the story and we know exactly what she has been through and we relate to it cause we basically grew up with her so this is the official version for swifties🙃

I am assuming you DO NOT know the OG version of this song, which as someone has mentioned is a 5min version, so I find it funny that you mention the no change in the song (granted you could be talking JUST about the arrangement) when in reality THIS is a whole different song even in SOUND, and for those of us that KNOW the OG you best believe it has a whole musical change. other than the tempo and the OG lyrics everything else IS actually different. but alas everyone has a valid opinion.
Yeah, before reacting to this, I've never heard the og version. By "change" I was really talking about a change in dynamics, rhythm, or just something different from where the song originally started. I've listened to a lot of long songs by various artists and to me, some of the most captivating moments usually happen when these types of "changes" take place

this longer version of the song was dropping alllll the tea about jake Gyllenhal and his dating and gaslighting super young girls. She was 20 and he was 29 and then told her the age gap was the problem. fast forward ten years and he's 40 dating a 25 year old who was 21 when they started.
the original basically removed all the details about him like that, making it more generic and therefore more relatable to more people. she never released it as a single but the fans made it their all time favorite of hers. Fans changed her relationship to that song, which she used to struggle to get through on stage or cried after shows. but hearing the stadiums scream the lyrics back at her in shows made her appreciate it that much more. this version added back in all the tea and that is why it went viral.

You are listening and then repeatedly saying “10 minutes?!” You commented on all of the following. “I like the chorus,”and with that “I really like that duh duh duh” which is also the chorus. Secondly you commented on her scarf lyric. Third you said dang with “but you stay my age” fourth you said you like the durickidutickitkatakitak in the background and the song would be better if it were 2 minutes longer and just did that louder but then noticed the synth and said that sort of helps. Fifth you said “nice little trumpet, nice little texture to the song.” That’s it. 10 minutes and 5 comments on lyrics or composition or anything in the song. At the end you only repeated those comments. It’s a joke. Her lyrics are some of the most advanced in music, I’m not sure if you just don’t understand the complexities of the lyrics because you made no comments on them except one about the scarf which half misses the figurative point, but you definitely do not understand production. So I ask again? What are you reacting to? There are so many words and 10 minutes of content to say something about but nothing. You mentioned the length more times than all of your comments on composition. And it says the length in the song title so completely unneeded even once.

The original version is 5 min long. You should have listened to it first. It was the critics favourite on red and also fan favourite. It is the condensed version and really good. I agree Micah. The song just didn't really change, and it just feels ssssooo long. The longest song I have in my playlists is 7 minutes long but it feels like it's 20 minutes long. The song I'm talking about is, "Heaven" by, "ATO". I do enjoy listening to Heaven every once in a while but I can't listen to it for even two days without it feeling lke a decade. Don't get me wrong I like All Too Well but it's just way too long for me to enjoy listening to it.

Personally grew up with the short version and prefer the 10 min version. It expands the story, gives more detail to fully understand the situation and such. I don't think it's boring. The new verses and lines are a big addition for me. But if you're not much I to lyrics then...well ts isn't really for you in general. And that's ok.😅😊
