    what scale size is that

25-28mm. It works great for miniatures from Reaper, Privateer Press, Warhammer, Perry Miniatures, etc...

Can you play Dungeons & Dragons with those artifacts?

Absolutely! There aren’t grids, but the removable roofs and floors allow for “interior design “ and moving miniatures through buildings. Roofs offer a nice way of concealing things from players, too. Keep an eye out for their upcoming Kickstarter, which will have new castle pieces, including the square tower with multiple floors!!!

I've always been attracted to MBA's stuff, but unfortunately they are the gold standard in price as well as quality. For example, swapping a destroyed wall section for a modular wall section is a neat trick that costs $90 USD, and a couple of the larger gates and towers are $200 to $250. I'm curious if these buildings are hand-painted for that price or if they have another method.

I just checked out this Kickstarter. They had like 75 total backers that wanted castles and made $61,000. In comparison, I keep seeing Kickstarters for inferior products (like the files for 3D printed terrain sets) that make hundreds of thousands of dollars. Because lots of people want terrain, but not everybody can handle $1200 castles all at once! I feel like MBA could have made more money if they were somewhere in between, but I don't know if the profit margin would be feasible in that case depending upon process.

You are definitely right, their price is the #1 complaint I hear about their product. I believe they are manufactured and the high cost is mostly a result of the quality of the resin they use. When I asked about how I could possibly cut a wall to create smaller one for a unique build I was told that attempting to cut the resin was not practicable, it's like rock. I've only ever had a handful of breaks all of which were on thinner elements of the model and all but one from dropping one MBA piece on top of another (my butter fingers are a big reason I invest in MBA). The one that wasn't from model on model violence was when I dropped the back wall of the keep from just over 3 foot onto tile. There was much anguish and gnashing of teeth on that one. On the upside, every break was clean and easily repaired. Only two required paint touch-up and the MBA crew were helpful in providing some color-matching guidance.
Thanks for the comment!!! Game Well!!!!

@@justdiceleague To provide some perspective, I showed your video to my wife (who paints prototype minis for gaming companies) and asked her to guess the retail prices of some of the items. She was dead-on or in the ballpark for each piece and said the prices were correct for quality resin if MBA wants to make a profit on painted terrain. Her only critique was that the building interiors are a bit 'American dollhouse' and would have liked to see them fleshed out a bit more. So the only REAL problem here is that not enough of us have a couple grand to blow on glorious gaming environs!

@@justdiceleague LOL, I hear you on the butterfingers part; the main reason that I am pleased that the industry has moved to plastic and resin miniatures is that it was so painful when the metal fellows got knocked onto the floor and shattered!

if MBA cut corners they wouldn't be MBA any more. I buy unpainted for my modern stuff, willingly paying the premium for their premium stuff. And I even have a 3d printer ;)
