LeonGun8 Pretty much, a script that relies heavily on "Comedy" has to be changed if the literal translation is bland and boring. Im not very good at japanese but i know when the subtitles dont match the voices at all. All for the sake of recognizing the work of their translators, putting things that wont be skipped on a 1st time playthrough. Sorry for the grammar

I personally have found Xseed to have the best track record of localization efforts, though a lot of their games are translated by hired translation teams instead of in-house translation teams (Tecmo Koei does the same for their Gust-developed games). the Kiseki series especiallyare a very challenging game to localize yet Xseed has managed to tackle the challenge in a way fans have actually come out satisfied. And we're talking about games with huuuuuge scripts that many thought would be unfeasible to localize due to the amount of effort required.

At least IFI did a decent job localizing VII, and I know enough to not have to focus on the English text boxes on Rebirth 3.
