Earthship Berm retained by Strawbale Terrace

In this video check out Pete's design on how to retain his Earthship's berm... we live in the high desert at 8,000ft with little rainfall and 10 miles north of the Great Sand Dunes National park so using a little bit of straw, woodchips, and horse manure can go along way for soil retention and native plant growth. Straw and wood cheap on top of the berm should also provide some thermal insulation for the thermal mass. Nice one

Don't most Earthships dig down leaving a somewhat sunken front courtyard area?
