I go through the process on installing the Alpine ILX-W560 in a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
Along with the head unit, I install a XM Tuner, Backup Camera and extend the USB port into the console.
Here are the parts I used in the install

Did you have any issues with the hands free audio?

Did you have to wire it onto the parking brake for the setting to work? I have an 08 jku ans the reviews ive read say they had to do that to access the complete settings.

I didn’t. The radio communicates on the local CANBUS network in the Jeep. To adjust the higher end functions. The Jeep needs to be in Park and Emergency Brake in on.
Not that big of a deal, because all of the higher functions you wouldn’t t be messing with while driving anyway.

They were included in the installation kit from Crutchfield. Metra made the kit.

Near the end, you say "Jeeps lack of build quality". There are more after-market products for Jeep Wranglers than any other vehicle manufacturer and they are literally made to be taken apart. It's not a lack of build quality.

Thanks for the video! Do you have a link for the harness kit?

I don’t see any 24$ package on their site when adding the radio to cart. Did they change the price or something? Now idk which one you talked about on the video

Great info - (LONG READ) I am doing exact same install on 2018 Unlimited JK (different backup camera) - head unit is on backorder from Crutchfield, installed backup camera today and ran wires and left them on front passernger floor board. My cameral is spare tire mount - I left red power wire laying in back cargo area and waiting for headunit before I hook that to reverse light -- BUT couple of questions on that part - so I hook up red power on camera end to reverse light (get that), but how does it get power to run camera when not in reverse, do you also wire it up at head unit (if this head unit even has the option to turn camera on without being in reverse, and think it does) -- what kind of camera was that on back of your head-unit, did not look like RCA - do I need to get some kind of adapter from RCA to plug for head unit? Finally, noticed this on my backorder from Crutchfield --" Item 794HRRCH1 iDatalink HRN-RR-CH1 Factory Integration Adapter (ADS-MRR module also required)" - going to call Crutchfield after holiday, but what is and do I need a ADS-MRR -- Thanks (by the way, I did pay the $24 for the pre-wiring)

The Alpine has 2 rca inputs for cameras. A front and a separate back.
If you want the camera to be powered on at all times. You would need to connect to a constant 12v source when key is on.

@@StreetersGarage OK, sounds like I need to run the power and ground all the way up front along with the RCA jack and power to same power/ground as the head unit - Thanks

Roy Bryant Yes. That would be the easiest thing to do.

@@StreetersGarage Received all my gear from Crutchfield - have installed and ran wires for front and rear camera - on front went through grommet on drivers side of firewall, easy run - question about your USB install - spoke to Crutchfield today and they told me that they were not sure why, but extending the USB caused some kind of issue with Apple Play - have you used Apple play on your extension? Also, noted this JK had the factory USB in the console - would like to use if possible

Sounds like Crutchfield may have been confused on what I did. I used a longer cable than what Alpine supplied. So I didn't extend it from the existing one. It was a single cable that was about 18" longer.
I have a iPhone and my wife has a Droid. Both CarPlay and Android Auto have worked with no issues.

It didn’t have the option. This Jeep had the basic radio with no amp
