- This is the last video in my #RoadToAxialfest series. I install a RC4WD 1/10 scale Warn Winch and wired winch controller that allows you to control the winch from a button on your transmitter. Super cool! This is my first winch and it was really easy to set-up. I walk through all the steps to get this assembled and programmed in my DX5 Rugged.

I love rc but just spent 900$ on a scx10iii well 540$ but plus extra 900$ and it already needs a gear or something replaced and I haven’t even left 50% throttle nor have I even left the house with it, the only thing it’s done is flex on shoes and it already has a small clicking sound like it’s missing a tooth or something is wearing out very quickly I mean not even 30 min run time. But I love them, glad there’s hobby shops that can just figure out what the issue is and fix it, I don’t like digging into transmissions and trying to find the problem

Yeah got to have a winch. I put a cheap integy on my redcat Everest gen 7 just a switch on top but hay it helps.

Hello RC girl, I have a question
What receiver did you use when you were assigning your winch?
I'm using the srs6000.
I'm having trouble getting the assigned switch to work with aux 2.
It's as if it process doesn't save. I've watched your video a few times along with my owners manual.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't have the dx5 controller but I'm going to follow what you did for assigning a channel to my winch and hopefully it'll work the same on my controller! Thank you so much for doing this video! Wish me luck! Lol.

You can buy a dumborc transmitter or any transmitter with a three position switch and you just plug it into the channel the switch is. It should work 100% but you got to use to it seeing that it is harder to use the switch and put it in the middle being the neutral and left from neutral position is to pull in the line and far right position is to let line out. But dumborc transmitter works good and good quality 6 channel under 40 bucks on amazon.

I know the winch is meant to be used in assistance with the main vehicle running gear, but I was wondering if you had any problems with it as I'm gonna put it in a fairly heavy rig

Its nice on a 3 position switch..but than you allways run full speed.
Try putting it on a turn dail knop on your remote and now you can control the speed of the winch...more control while winching and more realistic

I have a winch as well. Trying to run it off Channel 3, but 2-pin JST plug is not working with the switch. Likely need this controller at add onto mine. It takes power and signal to make a 3-position profile.
i have the one with the seperate controler . on my next build i think ill go with this version

Nice addition to the Cherokee am I wrong in saying that I think RC four-wheel-drive makes other plates to accommodate where you might want to attach the winch.? But your method is going to work just as well nice mod Haley way to show us what needs to be done. Appreciate your time and your skills as always.

I take it that you can't mount metal bumpers the same way as plastic ones because you could adjust it forward otherwise and secondly I didn't know spectrum made car transmitters. I swear by spectrum I use a DX 8 on my hellys and planes are they still available thank you for posting your vids are very informing. Cheers!

I have a lot of Rc's of all types but I sold all of my crawlers years ago, however your series of videos on this jeep has given me the itch to jump back into one. I just have to decide which kit to go with. Suggestions??? Anyone?.....thanks for the awesome videos Rcgirl.
Soo many great options out there. Axial is releasing a new kit this week, might be worth waiting for. Element Enduro kit looks good. Trx-4 (regular or sport) are always good choices. Or you can go the 2.2 route..
Love your videos, especially this scx10 and your TRX4 upgrade series, but I was wondering if you know the name of the plug that the winch uses. I'm looking for a specific wire extension and I have no idea what the names are for each plug.
What voltage and current does the winch use? is there enough power in every RX to cope with that power.

Excellent gear!! Looking for something a bit more powerful though... probably asking too much, but a winch that can pull an rc tank? 15-20 pounds... for a recovery vehicle. Was looking into rc cranes but that got expensive lickity split!

what does the lever do on the winch.. in real life its supposed to be a release.. but on this it seems to move but do nothing..
i be upgradin the winch from that to 1/10 scale Warn 8274, that little winch same as yours couldn't even move my truck since it's more than 6lbs
i be doin the same, try to get it controlled by the controller even though i had the winch receiver remote velcroed to the transmitter

Great video but i need your help.. I buy the hobyteck 6x6 crx18 rc crawler the electrinics is the same with power wagon fms fcx18 .. i buy only the winch not the board or the wires. I Want to install that winch on the receiver board in position 3 channel which has a 3 pin socket, how can I do this?
Is this winch controller pulling 6v from RX or 11.1v from a 3s lipo?

Would you happen to know if this winch will fit Integy bumpers for the 2.2 Axial Wraith? I've finally got my Wraith where I want it even though I don't know who's upset more about that, my wife or my bank account. But I'm wanting to add a winch and new bumper as sort of a finishing touch.
My winch is plugged into AUX1 on my s515, also using dx5 rugged but when I put it to AUX1/AUX2 and switch D, all I have is 3pos, none of the other options come up and it controls throttle
Edit: I rebooted the radio and cyclic is there now

Does it have three wires? You'll need a signal wire in addition to power
what front bumper is that on your rig
the biggest problem is 3rd party controllers need to have 6-7 channels esp for us with a trx4 that needs 5 just for the unit itself.

Looking at the winch from the front, there is a small silver "L" shaped tab on the top/right side. Does that do anything when you turn it either way? On the real life sized one, I believe that is the free spool lever that allows the cable to be pulled out easily/quickly. I wonder if the RC version included that option.
