  • Hi guys, here's a very handy tutorial i decided to make about how to connect your rc winch for your scaler or crawler. I installed it for my vaterra slickrock to be able to help on tough terrain.
    Again hope you find this helpful and don't forget to subscribe!

    Great post. I added the Warn winch to my TRX, but used the aux power source to power both my lights and the winch. I used existing plugs, but transferred wires to the plugs I needed to avoid numerous connections and ridiculously long wires. All worth noting I just used two of the supplied screws to attach the winch base to the stock bumper. With two it is very snug.

Let me know if i made myself clear ;)

    Quick question five years after posting this video: does the winch automatically stop when the wire is all in or out? Will the motor keep trying to go if I'll continue to press the buttons?
    Also, about how much weight would this be able to pull?
    All the best!

    • @MehdiMirian
      @MehdiMirian  Před 5 lety

      It doesn’t automatically stop, so yes if you keep pressing the button it’ll try to either roll it in or out. According to their website it says it can take about 6.6 pounds but I’ve pulled close to 10. Thanks for watching after 5 years! :)

    In the real world the connectors don't match, nothing fits, and the batteries in the remote don't make contact.
    You're going to have to be an Electronics Engineer and a master of fabrication to make it work.
    I made my dual motor winch work because I am those things and was born 1 year before Elon.
    Gonna show the video soon as I batten down the hatch. I just got it today.

    • @MehdiMirian
      @MehdiMirian  Před 9 lety

      This winch works with 6 to 11 volts batteries, I just used this lipo to extende play time but you can use nimh too just make sure it's within the voltage I mentioned ;)

    • @roscop466
      @roscop466 Před 9 lety +1

      rc mirian oh okay. So pretty much when the winches performance drops its sorta like a lvc? That I would assume this particular winch setup will not operate under a certain voltage? Still if using a 2s lipo and the winch setup being min of 6volts unless using a very high quality lipo pack running them down to 3v per cell is cutting it quite close. I do understand its a winch and wont be used nearly as much as say lights or whatever but if you happen to neglect checking the winch lipo voltage over a period of time could have catastrophic effects lol. And of course if your using lipo to power the rc you can always just hook it up to run off that and use its lvc if not running a separate power source for winch. Great vid too!
