  • If you have a set of convertible fairy wings from Fancy Fairy or planning to, then this is for you! In this tutorial I explain how to assemble my convertible wings in 2 different ways, and also how to wear them as they were meant to be.
    Each set of wings now comes with hardware for both assemblies.
    The first section goes over how to assemble them in a static position, though you can still remove the bottom screw to let the wings freely rotate down into resting position if you've had them in the static position and then find yourself needing a smaller profile when things get crowded.
    The second section shows how to assemble the wings with the new hardware to enable them to be rotated into any position you like on the fly.
    The third section shows you how to bend and pose them.
    You'll need a small wrench and a Phillips screwdriver.
    This video is far overdue, but you see, I added a new positionable feature as soon as I finished filming the assembly tutorial for the original static convertible wings and had to do things over again ;P I have to thank Jordan Price for the washer idea that made that version possible.

    I just discovered your channel and love your tutorials so much! It’s just a bit hard to follow because the subtitle instructions go by so fast... I’m so busy reading quickly I don’t quite comprehend the words and have to keep pausing to read or, if I’m too slow, pausing and rewinding to get the instructions. If possible, in future videos could you leave them up longer? From what I understand about text used in commercials, the industry standard is around 3-4 seconds for 2 lines text, then add 1 second for each additional line of text on the screen. It would be so helpful to have them up even just a second longer!

      I see what you mean, and yes when I make more I'll keep that in mind :) I just assume that people will pause along the way and prefer for tutorials to be short, but maybe I'm wrong about that. Thanks for the feedback :)

    This is amazing!! I was wondering what thickness and type of aluminum to use? I have read that 0.063 in 5052 aluminum is a good option, but wanted a second opinion if you wouldn't mind I was thinking about doing 0.08 but was wondering if that was too thick. Thanks!

    I am new to your site. While I very much appreciate all the knowledge and experience you’ve shared, I have a very difficult time keeping up with your videos. The writing flashes across the screen far to quickly.

    Will the corset method also work for Bras? Would love to see more tutorials on how to make these, they're so beautiful!!

      With my newest wings, you might need a little more support than just a bra strap since the wings have gotten more detailed and therefore slightly heavier. You could surely try it out, but may need something sturdier than a bra to hold them securely.

  • @elizabethburns9194

    I was wondering if the base and veins of the wings are made out of aluminum, too? When you were putting them together, they looked like the same materials.

    Are these metal laser-cut bases for sale? If so where? Or do you have SVG files for sale?

    • @fancyfairyangela
      @fancyfairyangela  Před 4 lety +2

      No, I don't sell the bases by themselves or the SVGs for them, they are all copyright protected and not to be used by others when making wings either for themselves or to sell.
      However there are just a few SVG files I have made available through my Patreon, they are all wings from nature and therefore not copyright protected. I do sell the one nature based design in the main wing tutorial and there's a link to it in the video description.
