Jürgen Reis is a really fascinating guy. I am glad you got a chance to interview him.

Another compliment on these. It seems rare to find, in one person, technical competence, musical listening insight, and the wherewithal to experiment and understand the results. I wish many others could pay attention to his wisdom on recording. Encore!

John, amazing interview!!! Wow, Jurgen is my hero....in my 40 years in this hobby, a high-end audio designer stating (matter-of -fact) that measurements are just the base-line guide in component/speaker designs. Nelson Pass and Dan D'Agostino have mentioned they voice their designs, but that was decades ago and in print. Millennials need to see/hear this as a factual part of sound component designs. So many non-audiophiles will argue ad- nauseam that all good measuring electronics sound the same. How ignorant.
Cables! Yes, get this never -ending argument over! Cables can make a BIG difference in a system. I dislike all silver cables for their bright presentations. Jurgen is da man!!! Cheers?

Outstanding interview. Design engineer/audio scientist/philosopher/teacher and artist all in one. Everything is explored, exposed and evaluated. What is and appears to the ear, measurements and vibrations, are not always equal but can be discerned and identified . Sonic quantum served and plated with a dash of elan.

    Fascinating really, more please!
I would've enjoyed another hour or more of him discussing more of his approach to the challenges he's encountered in audio playback.
In addition to hearing more of his electronic focus in this video, I'd really enjoy hearing his findings and experiences via a deep-dive into small room acoustics and the speaker/room interface.
    Thanks, good stuff

    Great discussion... thank you!

Great interview. I measure my speakers almost to a fault. Sometimes I need to put down the test gear and just listen. But measurement has gotten me so much further in terms of sound quality...inch by inch making imperceptible improvements until they sum together and bring a smile to my face when listening to music.

wow! finally someone explaining! you need someone to back his statements with measurements. I don't need to see them but I need to know someone has measured!

Great video and discusion John. Seeing that burned cd on the multi thousand dollar piece of gear was funny in a way too.
