Imagine a world without secondary dominants and false cadences
Okay, do the negative Harmony of jazz
Ooh not worth living in that world
jazzn’t
Hmm
I don’t like it
😲
from the moment i saw the grace note i knew this was going in a jazzy direction… and i love it
Ha, I knew it even earlier than that. Before I even clicked the video, actually. Because it's in the title
Yeah they were amazing grace notes
@@RuptimusPrime 🤣🤣 well yes bahaha
@@helenari musician are simply the best humans and that’s coming from somebody who’s interested in physics
Not the title huh?
It just feels like someone put felt in my ears and said: "everything's okay"
Feels like a warm hug and an anthropomorphic white beagle is running to me with a baseball mitt to get me to play.
@@KasbashPlays Chilli beans
God’s open arms through his son Jesus, who died on the cross. It’s gonna be all right 😊! Praise God!
I know George it's beautiful you don't have to be embarrassed about crying 2:17
This may be the first recorded case of death by dehydration from crying
This is one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever heard. You’d think after all these years Jazz didn’t have anything more to surprise me with, and then this!!!
czcams.com/video/tsyMH3ACvxE/video.html have you hear this?
So that's what marksmen do when they're not in meta. They listen to jazz! So poetic *.*
Still crazy after all these years.
It's like classical gospel
I have no idea what is greater... his playing or THE DRIP
Bro the drip is glorious but the playing made me cry
Ok sorry to ruin it but what the heck is a drip
@@gandalfthegrey2171 outfit
definitely the playing.
i was in a noisy room so i couldnt hear much thanks for adding subtitles its very helpful
Ahahaha
I felt the "I'm not crying, you're crying" so much, this is just so incredibly beautiful
This is really just what we like to call “gospel”
This video made me realize why I'm into jazz and want to learn the theory :)
Sometimes I feel like quitting when seeing "certain" people whose level I'll never reach, but just sounding as good as this is already enough for me
Same!! I know exactly how you feel!
This right here 😭
I never realize i was into jazz too, but man since i was a kid i was exposed to jazz thanks to the freaking snes, so many jazzy tunes in videogames and never realized this
2:34 this was absolutely beautiful, it felt so good
This felt like playing for a church mass but you get too carried away midway and forget where you were playing
2:18 yes, I'm definitely crying. this voicing struck me to my core
Lets hope the priest likes Gsus and not Am
Edit: terrible joke, I know, but hey! I got a lot of likes tho
Gets pretty close to a minor but changes his mind and goes for a diminished.
Holy shit this is too dark💀
@@nadylouis4936 oh shoot i thought Amin was supposed to be “amen” but maaybe not
oh dang
What is Amin
I'm not crying, we're all crying
I swear there's something with F major that always moves me... 🥲
F Major is just one of these beautiful keys... a little like Db Major! (To me anyway). Curious how even with the equal temperament, different keys seem to have a different impact.
Reminds me of Horowitz’s Träumerei
@@mathiaslevyvalensi-compose5014 yeah! Db major sounds dream-like to me (and in general when a lot of flats are involved).
Even though I was taught back in the day to recognize major and minor tonalities by telling whether they sounded happy or sad respectively, F major is a great exception to me
@@tanglongtao taking notes on that! Thank you :)
@@ManuTears98 I feel as though the whole "happy and sad" thing is a little oversimplified past a certain stage... I think it's important to keep in mind that an equal temperament doesn't and can't really exist which leads to differences in the keys, still today. It's really important to keep that in mind, study and experiment with it when we come to writing music, to have the most organic feeling possible!
Why does this guy look like the black version of Elton John??
It’s the outfit
And the gospel chords.
dude i thought the same thing
he's John Elton
2:17 made me feel an emotion I haven't felt in a while
Ive been thinking for a minute. It's pure, beautiful sadness. Not depression, and that's in the context. That the piece and life are beautiful and through sadness there is beauty. No high highs without low lows. That chord made me grateful to know sadness. Just.. wild.
@@danielsalgado1885 I guess I wouldn't call it sadness. More like the peace you feel when you're finally letting go of something. I'd imagine that's what I'll feel when I'm stepping onto the clouds of heaven's gate, knowing that my mission on Earth is completed.
This one is called “Amazing Grace-Notes” For those of you who don’t know.
That 0:59 may be the most beautiful chord I have ever heard.
2:19 that E. That damn E...
Beautiful, tasteful, respectful. My priest would approve.
Amazing Grace Notes. (:
Underrated comment.
Well played
The best rendition of this song I have ever heard. Beautiful.
Magnifique performance! Still, this looks like a concert and he doesn't look like a priest
It was a joke.
Priest because its amazing grace
@@RachieSama didn't see how would that be funny though
@@TheMorphrick the song being played is a jazz version of a religious song, thus joking that he was a priest who liked jazz
still waiting for the jazz
Even the lines that the notes make in the score are beautiful.
Beautiful! Thanks for putting up the sheet music, I'm going to attempt it
Have you learnt it yet?
unbelievably beautiful, thanks for the transcription
I really love these amazing grace notes!
this reminds me of every hotel i've ever been to (the ones that were at least nice, which were most of them) and the nice calm lakeside of Duluth
Lovely backdoor cadence to finish it off.
Beautiful, so sweet. If I could just have Davell Crawford play at my funeral, I’d come back to listen.
the passage at 1:23 made my heart break, so freaking amazing
Those A's starting @ measure 59 really came thru in those chords. Beautiful arrangement and performance! 💯🔥
lets also take a moment to appreciate how dripped out this guy is
Davell Crawford! The Piano Prince of New Orleans. That man can play, play.
I can watch your videos for the entire day
call that amazing grace note
Those were some amazing grace notes.
:D
music is our only hope
yeah ur right i am crying
Impressive! Thank you! I closed my eyes, did not see the glitter any more, and aah... Enjoyed!
this is so clean ahhh
How sweet the sound indeed.
Beautiful loved it!
Beautiful :)
If that don't make you feel some kind of way...
how amazing is this
This is so beautiful
Oh wow that was wonderful
Edit: Beautifully played by Mr. Crawford - just to get the name out
DAVELL CRAWFORD!! Used to play him all the time back when I did college radio
It started very simple and gradually became advanced
Beautiful!
God : what is jazzzz?
He :
Wow the middle ground of cadences
goat at work
can you blame him for using so many amazing grace-notes?
Beautiful💖💖
Beautiful.
"ya like jazz"
when the priest likes the devils' music
Got goosebumps
ah fuck yeah. Thanks George for sharing this one.
Beautiful
So beautiful
That was so clean tho 🥺
Jazz Gospel
Its something else
Phenomenal
I call this one, Amazing Grace Notes
I know it’s not even the most impressive part but the Bb over Dm just smacks me in the gut everytime I listen.
0:36
Beautiful, theres a strange balance to seeing our pimped out guy, with the drip and the PHATTEST rang on his finger, play such elegant and beautiful music.
That gospel has soul.
ПРОСТО "ЗВЕРЬ"!!!, СПАСИБО!!!
Amen to that.
There needs to be more music done "warmly, with a calm heart" in the world.
Those are some amazing grace notes.
i think I'm in heaven
Was really hoping and expecting more. 🤷
I didn't know Tony Williams was still around and that he does piano transciptions.. 🥁
I'm not crying, you're crying
I can very easily hear Tom Waits sing over this
both me and my grandma hate this song with a fiery passion but god DAMN if I didn't stay for the whole video
Druski bodied this
I need his glasses... If I have them, I'll be half as smooth as he is, I just know it.
Hallelujah baby!!!!!
I could use this to get to sleep.
When a vampire then, meets Jesus.. in Jazz.
Mahershala Ali, you can't fool us.
I just come back for the titles
Jokes aside, that piece is damn beautiful.
Amen
those are some amazing grace notes
Didn't know Morpheus can play, amazing
Spectacular ending
Jesus Christ thats good
Amen.
New Orleans pianists are where it’s at if you like transcribing grace notes. Try some James Booker like his Tico Tico
This is a BASTINAZO
I want more bro are there studio albums like this?
Nice.
