  • How do I understand the comparative anatomy of Man and Apes? What are the similarities and differences between other primates and human beings? What are the salient physical and anatomical characteristics that distinguish these primates? What are the the skeletal differences between humans and other primates? What are the anatomical changes that occurred in Homo sapiens due to erect posture, as compared to other primates? During the course of evolution, how did man begin to differ from our closest relatives, the Chimpanzee?
'Comparative Anatomy of Man and Apes' is an important topic in the Anthropology Syllabus for UPSC. In this video, expert faculty Kartic Godavarthy answers these questions and much more, giving you a very clear idea of the comparative anatomy of Homo sapiens and other primates, with original illustrations for easy understanding.
Don't miss this video if you want conceptual clarity in a short span of time- only about 20 minutes!

Awesome video! While the brain to body ratio is an indicator of level of intelligence, there are lots of exceptions as well as other factors such as brain density that are thrown into the mix when calculating the average intelligence. While there are differences between races, humans vary a lot, even within races, so your race shouldn't be the sole factor to determining what you're good at. Anyway, thanks for making this video! I don't see other videos like this on CZcams so I appreciate your efforts.
